I haven't eaten here for years, and there is a reason for it, it just isn't good. We were greeted promptly, and seated right away. Our server came right over and introduced herself, and took our drink order. When she brought our drinks, she then took our main order. I had a heck of a time picking something off the breakfast menu, nothing sounded good. I ended up ordering the eggs and bacon, coffee and a mimosa. My grandson ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, and my daughter ordered their eggs Benedict. There was a fair amount of time before our meals came out, and when they did I could see I would still be hungry when I left. I first noticed the bacon was shriveled up to almost nothing, and the potatoes were drenched in grease, and were swimming in salt. I was hungry so I tried to eat them, but couldn't, they tasted like burnt greasy, salted rocks. The eggs were ok, as well as the toast. I ordered a mimosa, and was brought a glass of orange juice with a small bottle of champagne. I said if I drank that whole bottle of champagne I'll be drunk. I've never seen a restaurant serve a mimosa like that. If I was someone who drank a lot I would be happy with that, but I found it wasteful as the bottle was almost full when we left. The chocolate chip pancake was enormously too big for a Little Tike. It was very dry. He couldn't eat it all. Most places serve some kind of fruit with pancakes, if you order off their children's menu, not here. A drink did come with it though. Eggs Benedict were ok again the potatoes were not edible. They did have pretty good coffee in very large cups, but were only re-filled once. It would have been nice for the server to check on us. When it came time to pay, I thought it took especially long for the server to come back with the credit card receipt so I could sign it, and we could leave. She walked up timidly, and said your credit card has expired. It expired yesterday. I kind of chuckled because I had forgotten that it had expired the day before, no worries, I had my new card ready to go. I signed the receipt and we left. No one said thank you for coming, how was everything, or even goodbye have a nice day. We just left with no plans to return. (I'm giving two stars instead of one, because the server was friendly, it's not her fault the food isn't very good.) read more

The outside and the décor of the place is immaculate. It looks like a cute little cottage or lodge in the middle of Murray, Utah. The service is always quick. I came by to dine-in once and I have just recently done take-out (today actually, July 21,2021). When I came to dine-in a while back with my friend, Vivian, and I, we were seated immediately and when I came to gather my take-out today, my food also came out immediately when it was my turn. The service the day I came in to dine-in was fine; she was pretty nice. The hostess today was not very hospitable and she gave me metal utensils with my take-out. I'm not sure if that's normal for Mimi's Cafe take-out. The portions were a tiny bit bigger while dining in rather than my take-out today, but still way too small for the price. For my take-out, it cost a total of $40 for two dishes that could barely feed one person. For a $20.50 Jambalaya and a $18.00 Pot Roast Dinner, to barely feed myself and not fully feed my dad; it was so very disappointing. The taste is fine, but still does not justify two dollar-signs. Even though the place is cute and the service is okay, THE PRICE FOR THE PORTION??? Noooooo. Big no. Either they make the portions match their price or lower their prices for the portion of their food. read more

I ordered UBER EATS. and Mimis Cafe had not the entire order ready. The Uber eat drivers need to run to get their orders on time. So the grabbed the bag with my order and left. I would have done the same. So when the brought the two coffees, the diver left. So I called Mimis to find of if I could get the coffees next time I go there. THE OWNER SAID NO! LOL! TWO COFFEES. I spend $60.00 on my order and the owner can't compliment 2 COFFEES. What is that for him? $3.00? Nice to know the people you dealing with. I will never go and eat there or ordered from there again. And I will recommend my friend not to go there. $3.00 lost a customer and many potential customers. read more

Let me start with the food. It was awesome and came out in 25 minutes after ordering. It was mothers day so we had made reservations a couple of weeks before. When we arrived we were told it would be 30-45 min wait. No too happy but ok. They seemed to be understaffed so it took a while to get our order in. When our food arrived we had to ask 3 times for utensils and parts of our order. Don't come here is you are in a hurry. read more

Arrived on a Friday afternoon because we were trying to waste some time before an appointment. Walked in and there was no one to great us. Took us about a minute to be acknowledged. There wasn't much going on in the restaurant, not many people. Our server was nice. She was attentive and helpful. The -2 stars is really for the sub par food. The tomato soup was oddly spicy and salty. The grilled cheese was very mediocre and the Cesar salad was basic. Very underwhelming food. The booths seem old because they are not very comfortable and it felt like cushion was missing from mine. I don't know. I felt kind of depressed after? I don't know how I feel about this place. Solid 3 star in my book. I wouldn't go back unless it's the only place open. read more

Outstanding food menu. Great service and a great experience. It hit the spot and our group all had great meals.

This place used to be good. The hostess gentlemen was rude. The waitresses are short and seem unhappy and too busy. They were out of about 6 things. The eggs Benedict had NO flavor. The French toast was tiny. Literally the size of store bought bread two slices, that tastes stale. And they charge $15 for this. The waffle is clearly frozen. The bacon is the precooked bacon they just heat up. This place used to be good now it's just terrible. We our not picky eaters but this was embarrassingly subpar. Everything has a layer of visible dirt and grime in the restaurant. Really just a disgusting experience. Go to IHOP across the parking lot, Mimi's makes that feel 5 star. read more

Came here for a quick bite for lunch with my hubby. Came around 3pm. Walked in and there wasn't a host. The waitress helped us right away and was very nice. We could see they were little short staff because our waitress seemed To he doing everything. But she was doing a great job! Food was just ok- my sandwich- was a club sandwich was a hit and miss. Some bites where good and then some where super dry. Fries where just warm. Hubby liked his meal he had tomato soup with a grilled cheese and salad. Looked yummy! -2 stars for the food 3 starts because our waitress who I didn't get her name was super nice and can see she was working hard to make everyone happy despite the fact she was alone! read more

Placed an order online to be picked up at 10:15am. It was a simple order; two French toast meals, no drinks. I arrived on time to pick it up, they said it wasn't ready yet. I waited for a VERY long time, to say the least. I watched them prepare a couple of other orders and saw part of what looked like part of my order be set on the counter with the lids open, just sitting there getting cold. Finally at 10:45am I got back in line "to be seated" to ask the status of my order again. They started scrambling all over the place for another 10 minutes, picked up the stone cold potatoes from the counter and placed it in the bag while waiting for the rest. Finally all of my food was ready almost an hour after the expected time. When the manager handed me my food, they didn't apologize for the wait or offer to compensate me for my time in any way. They simply called the order name and handed the bag to me before walking away. The food was terrible. Probably because the potatoes and bacon sat on the counter for 20+ minutes while they took an additional 40 minutes to put together some French toast that was somehow both soggy and burnt. Save your sanity and eat elsewhere. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was pretty good. We all liked what we ordered. But the service was terrible. We were there for close to 2 hours. Had to reschedule something we had planned afterwards. Took forever to take our order and then when we wanted to leave it took a long time to get our check too. The place was nearly empty but still took that long. Their food is good so maybe I would come back if not in a hurry to get anywhere. read more

This was my first time at mimis, the decor is awesome and my waitress was nice... but the food was not worth the price Mocha Latte 1/5 1 because it was pretty... but it was very bland, I've gotten better coffee from the cappuccino packs at the dollar store Malted Berry Waffles 0/5 I am a fat kid for waffles, they are my fave breakfast food! The "sauce" on these had no taste whatsoever and even the fruit had no taste. I never leave a waffle behind.. but this one, I def did Florentine Benedict 0/5 Is it possible for bacon to be stringy? Ok well I guess a better description would be... if you've ever warmed up pre cooked turkey bacon in the microwave. Hollandaise (sp?) sauce was bland and overall I guess that's the main word for my experience here. The potatoes looked inedible, but surprisingly it was the only item with flavor. read more

I came here with my family to eat for Christmas Eve lunch. The inside is nice and decorative but the waiting area seats where not that comfortable. The staff was great and friendly and totally on top of things! I really would love to give them more stars in this review but I can't because the dish I ordered just wasn't that good. I got the chicken and waffles and normally you can't really go wrong with this dish. I mean you could get one that is not impressive but still good tasting. Unfortunately, the chicken was very small, there was no butter and not enough syrup. I would suggest one more piece of chicken, butter the waffles and at least twice as much syrup. Other then this specific dish I got it was great and the staff where amazing! read more

After being seated and ordering, the party of six behind us was served and started eating. Our order took 20 minutes to make it to our table after the party behind us was served. My coffee never made it(our server's lame excuse of "We ran out of coffee" was not at all convincing) to the table. The customer service is horrid. I won't go to the Murray store again read more

I am laughing as I type this. I don't think a dining experience could have been worse. The restaurant was freezing, my drink never came, the food was almost inedible, the service was very kind but severely understaffed and slow, despite the place being nearly empty. Now we understand why. We at least laughed together most of the meal because it could not have been worse. Felt like I was in an episode of curb your enthusiasm. My guess is they are on their way out of business, that's how it felt. read more

Walked in on a Sat Morning and waited 5 minutes for someone to greet us only to be told there would be a 10 minute wait. The host said they only have 2 servers, and there were about 4 tables seated nothing, a duece, 10 top, and a couple 4's. I could handle that by myself. But the servers in there were running to keep up and completely overwhelmed. Not a manager to be found. No helping them. read more

DON'T DO IT! We were hangry and unfamiliar with the area. This looks like grandma's cottage from the outside but the inside was deserted except for a few elderly women "lunching." One server/hostess for the whole room. I don't even want to think of what was going on in the kitchen! No silverware. Inedible food. All meat products were dry. We left hangrier than we arrived and lighter by $40. The hostess/server asked our opinion and told her that it was not good. She had no comment and no power to make it right. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other many fast casual places in the parking lot. At least you won't leave hungry. read more

Mimi's have the best carrot muffins! I could just go there to have the carrot muffins, actually, their muffins are all quite delicious. Just good ole homemade tasting muffins. Not impressed. Waited 2 hours for a table which ended up being a booth with torn vinyl. Waited another 20 minutes for a server. My son and I ordered tea and the server asked what kind. Since the beverage selection on the menu was only alcoholic, we asked what kind was available, and we were told he didn't know. He brought 2 cups of tepid water with tea bags. We were given brunch menus and told we could not get a full menu even though 3 other tables around us had full menus, so we ended up having to have breakfast food at 2:30 in the afternoon. We saw the waitress one time when she took our order and next when she gave us the check and stood there until we got out a credit card. When the food came they dropped it off and did not bring any flatware. And my son didn't get half of what he ordered. It was so noisy it was hard to carry on a conversation. I get that you're busy, but I've worked in restaurants, and that is just flat out lousy customer service. I won't be back. read more

First time and my food was cold, the waitress had her blouse unbuttoned 3 buttons down from the top button that was fastened. I had to let her know about it and she didn't seem bothered or surprised but finished buttoning it. I was excited to try this place but will not return. read more

Our server was a sweetheart which is why this is getting two stars instead of one. Usually Mimi's Cafe doesn't disappoint but the food was EXTREMELY low quality. The servers that came out with our main server to help her hand out the food had really nasty attitudes. One of them screamed at us the name of the dish because the plate was burning her hand. That's why there's sleeves specifically made for carrying hot plates. Being a server myself I already knew those plates were blazing hot because they had been left under the heat lamp for awhile. Hot plate cold food. I asked for a bacon & egg croissant and I wasn't made aware that they were out of croissants until they brought it out on sourdough bread I kindly asked to have it changed to white bread but the sandwich was cold and nasty. The cheese on it was partially melted but had hardened and looked repulsive. I ended up taking a couple of bites because I was hungry but I had to push it aside. They're chicken pot pie I'm sure is frozen in the back and they just toss into the microwave because that's the type of quality it had. Their chicken and waffles was very blegh a little undercooked on the waffle. Overall as you can tell my whole family and myself were very dissatisfied with the quality of the food. Hope they do better next time. If there is one. read more

I ordered delivery for the two of us through GrubHub. When my order arrived, one full meal was missing. I texted the GrubHub driver, thinking perhaps it had been forgotten. Upon further investigation, the order has been removed, and a refund processed, all with ZERO outreach or notification. I called the restaurant and spoke to Brendan, who was apologetic, explaining that they'd run out of the entree I requested, but offered no resolution or refund. When I asked him why he hadn't made the simple and reasonable gesture of contacting me to inform me and offer alternatives, he replied that there were "too many tablets to keep up with", and that his training in such situations was to simply remove the item. Poor service. read more

Maybe I am being nostalgic, but Mimi's used to be good. They used to provide a bread basket with muffins, not this time. There were no baked goods on display available for sale either. The server didn't try to upsell appetizers or dessert (missed opportunity, especially since we didn't get any bread, I likely would have ordered an appetizer) We weren't asked what type of dressing we wanted on our salad - apparently, you get what they decide you want. On the plus side, the food we did order came fast and was good. If this is what Mimi's is like now, it is not surprising that the other Utah locations shut down. We are very disappointed. We were excited to go to Mimi's again, not likely to return. read more

My dad, sister, and I went to lunch today at Mimi's. It was 12:30, we thought it was going to be busy, it wasn't. My dad always told us, "You can tell how good a restaurant is by how busy it is at lunch time." Somethings has change, management, I don't know. The service was terrible. My sister ordered Citrus Salmon and a pumpkin loaf, they brought her a Caesar Salad. The food was okay. You could see others were waiting for food, service, their checks as well. A little sad, Mimi's has been a reliable place for comfort food and good service. They will be shuttered within one year. read more

My car is being finicky so I decided to get Mimi's delivered. (I am thrilled at the amount of options for delivery when I'm unable to get out of the house, or when I'm just being lazy.) I got a ceasar salad and French onion soup. The salad was good, lots of cheese (yum!) and the dressing was definitely flavorful. It wasn't generic tasting like you get at most restaurants in the area. Overall, good salad, I'm happy with it. The soup. Guys, French onion soup is one of my top 5 favorite things in the world. I have had French onion soup (which I will now refer to as FOS) made from scratch from my French neighbors. Mimi's has previously been one of the few places I've felt was comparable. (Nothing will ever be as good, I'm sure, so I dont hold restaurants here to as high of standards when it comes to FOS.) This was paltry at best. There were two little croutons, a smidge of cheese, and the bowl left much to be desired. (This was a bowl, not a cup.) when I've had this before it's been a full bowl, brimming with yummy onions, loads of cheese and the perfect amount of bread/croutons/whatever it is. This was not the case and honestly I'm looking for a new FOS joint in the area. Any recommendations welcome. read more

This restaurant is spiraling down fast. Horrible service. Food was just "meh." Nothing about my experience this afternoon was good. It's no wonder why the other Mimi's restaurant went out of business. I asked for a mango mimosa that was advertised on their sandwich board in the lobby. The waitress explained they didn't have any champagne. Ok. I then asked for a glass of Chardonnay and she gave me the same excuse. It's not as if she were bombarded with customers... I believe there were two other small parties in the dining area. I do not recommend this establishment. Don't waste your money or your time. read more

Another disappointment! This time a National Chain. Service was pretty good but not great, as I expected for the price I was paying. Two of us dined for $78.10 and ate food that was sub even IHOP or DENNY'S quality. A restaurant that had a theme of New Orleans and the French Quarter but only had two menu items that represented the theme. It was like paying to go to Disneyland and getting a State Fair instead. I ordered the House Salad, which was nicely presented and prepared, Grilled Salmon with broccoli and rice. The Salmon had no taste and was so badly prepared that I wasn't even sure it was fish. The Broccoli was soggy and wilted and tasted as if it was over boiled in water instead of steamed. The rice was nicely cooked but had no flavor or added spice s or butter to give it any type of reason to eat it. My wife ordered a Tomato Basil Soup that came to the table served as thick as Marinara Sauce that one would use to put on a pizza dough to make pizza. It should have been advertised as Tomato Paste with a little Basil. She then ordered a menu item called Jambalaya. It should have been called, Left Over Tomato Paste from our Tomato Basil Soup with Extra Black Pepper and pieces of Chicken and Shrimp. The next item was our desserts . I was expecting something marvelous after such a devastating blow in food quality and preparation. No, it couldn't be done at Mimi's Cafe. We received our two desserts of Chocolate Hot Lava Cake. It was advertised that it came with the Lava Cake Drizzled with Chocolate Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream and a Strawberry. It was delivered with the Lava Cake Drizzled with Chocolate Sauce, 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Ice Cream and then 1/4 Sliced Strawberry or even less? So less than impressed with this place. The service and server was ok and kept our glasses full of water and lemonade. But the Menu, Food, Cook and Quality was so subpar that it made me wonder if this company was just barely hanging on to staying open. read more

Rude, rude, RUDE waitress! I wanted to get up and walk out after the first words left her ignorant mouth - but my wife was hungry and willing to let it slide.
