When there are only 3 other diners in the whole place, it shouldn't take 25 min to take a drink order. This was on a slow Sunday at 6pm. Ordered a mushroom, brie and bacon omelette which clearly was used with either instant or powdered eggs and tasted bland. I'm not sure why there were 3 slimy pieces of Brie strewn across the top and not actually mixed in with the eggs? Also there wasn't any bacon. The roasted potatoes tasted stale. Overall just sad....and certainly not worth nearly 16$. The muffin was surprisingly good though. Maybe stick to baked goods only. read more

I haven't eaten here for years, and there is a reason for it, it just isn't good. We were greeted promptly, and seated right away. Our server came right over and introduced herself, and took our drink order. When she brought our drinks, she then took our main order. I had a heck of a time picking something off the breakfast menu, nothing sounded good. I ended up ordering the eggs and bacon, coffee and a mimosa. My grandson ordered the chocolate chip pancakes, and my daughter ordered their eggs Benedict. There was a fair amount of time before our meals came out, and when they did I could see I would still be hungry when I left. I first noticed the bacon was shriveled up to almost nothing, and the potatoes were drenched in grease, and were swimming in salt. I was hungry so I tried to eat them, but couldn't, they tasted like burnt greasy, salted rocks. The eggs were ok, as well as the toast. I ordered a mimosa, and was brought a glass of orange juice with a small bottle of champagne. I said if I drank that whole bottle of champagne I'll be drunk. I've never seen a restaurant serve a mimosa like that. If I was someone who drank a lot I would be happy with that, but I found it wasteful as the bottle was almost full when we left. The chocolate chip pancake was enormously too big for a Little Tike. It was very dry. He couldn't eat it all. Most places serve some kind of fruit with pancakes, if you order off their children's menu, not here. A drink did come with it though. Eggs Benedict were ok again the potatoes were not edible. They did have pretty good coffee in very large cups, but were only re-filled once. It would have been nice for the server to check on us. When it came time to pay, I thought it took especially long for the server to come back with the credit card receipt so I could sign it, and we could leave. She walked up timidly, and said your credit card has expired. It expired yesterday. I kind of chuckled because I had forgotten that it had expired the day before, no worries, I had my new card ready to go. I signed the receipt and we left. No one said thank you for coming, how was everything, or even goodbye have a nice day. We just left with no plans to return. (I'm giving two stars instead of one, because the server was friendly, it's not her fault the food isn't very good.) read more

The outside and the décor of the place is immaculate. It looks like a cute little cottage or lodge in the middle of Murray, Utah. The service is always quick. I came by to dine-in once and I have just recently done take-out (today actually, July 21,2021). When I came to dine-in a while back with my friend, Vivian, and I, we were seated immediately and when I came to gather my take-out today, my food also came out immediately when it was my turn. The service the day I came in to dine-in was fine; she was pretty nice. The hostess today was not very hospitable and she gave me metal utensils with my take-out. I'm not sure if that's normal for Mimi's Cafe take-out. The portions were a tiny bit bigger while dining in rather than my take-out today, but still way too small for the price. For my take-out, it cost a total of $40 for two dishes that could barely feed one person. For a $20.50 Jambalaya and a $18.00 Pot Roast Dinner, to barely feed myself and not fully feed my dad; it was so very disappointing. The taste is fine, but still does not justify two dollar-signs. Arrived on a Friday afternoon because we were trying to waste some time before an appointment. Walked in and there was no one to great us. Took us about a minute to be acknowledged. There wasn't much going on in the restaurant, not many people. Our server was nice. She was attentive and helpful. The -2 stars is really for the sub par food. The tomato soup was oddly spicy and salty. The grilled cheese was very mediocre and the Cesar salad was basic. Very underwhelming food. The booths seem old because they are not very comfortable and it felt like cushion was missing from mine. I don't know. I felt kind of depressed after? I don't know how I feel about this place. This place used to be good. The hostess gentlemen was rude. The waitresses are short and seem unhappy and too busy. They were out of about 6 things. The eggs Benedict had NO flavor. The French toast was tiny. Literally the size of store bought bread two slices, that tastes stale. And they charge $15 for this. The waffle is clearly frozen. The bacon is the precooked bacon they just heat up. This place used to be good now it's just terrible. We our not picky eaters but this was embarrassingly subpar. Everything has a layer of visible dirt and grime in the restaurant. Really just a disgusting experience. Go to IHOP across the parking lot, Mimi's makes that feel 5 star. read more

Placed an order online to be picked up at 10:15am. It was a simple order; two French toast meals, no drinks. I arrived on time to pick it up, they said it wasn't ready yet. I waited for a VERY long time, to say the least. I watched them prepare a couple of other orders and saw part of what looked like part of my order be set on the counter with the lids open, just sitting there getting cold. Finally at 10:45am I got back in line "to be seated" to ask the status of my order again. They started scrambling all over the place for another 10 minutes, picked up the stone cold potatoes from the counter and placed it in the bag while waiting for the rest. Finally all of my food was ready almost an hour after the expected time. When the manager handed me my food, they didn't apologize for the wait or offer to compensate me for my time in any way. They simply called the order name and handed the bag to me before walking away. The food was terrible. Probably because the potatoes and bacon sat on the counter for 20+ minutes while they took an additional 40 minutes to put together some French toast that was somehow both soggy and burnt. Not impressed. Waited 2 hours for a table which ended up being a booth with torn vinyl. Waited another 20 minutes for a server. My son and I ordered tea and the server asked what kind. Since the beverage selection on the menu was only alcoholic, we asked what kind was available, and we were told he didn't know. He brought 2 cups of tepid water with tea bags. We were given brunch menus and told we could not get a full menu even though 3 other tables around us had full menus, so we ended up having to have breakfast food at 2:30 in the afternoon. We saw the waitress one time when she took our order and next when she gave us the check and stood there until we got out a credit card. When the food came they dropped it off and did not bring any flatware. And my son didn't get half of what he ordered. It was so noisy it was hard to carry on a conversation. I am laughing as I type this. I don't think a dining experience could have been worse. The restaurant was freezing, my drink never came, the food was almost inedible, the service was very kind but severely understaffed and slow, despite the place being nearly empty. I came here with my family to eat for Christmas Eve lunch. The inside is nice and decorative but the waiting area seats where not that comfortable. The staff was great and friendly and totally on top of things! I really would love to give them more stars in this review but I can't because the dish I ordered just wasn't that good. I got the chicken and waffles and normally you can't really go wrong with this dish. I mean you could get one that is not impressive but still good tasting. Unfortunately, the chicken was very small, there was no butter and not enough syrup. I would suggest one more piece of chicken, butter the waffles and at least twice as much syrup. Maybe I am being nostalgic, but Mimi's used to be good. They used to provide a bread basket with muffins, not this time. There were no baked goods on display available for sale either. The server didn't try to upsell appetizers or dessert (missed opportunity, especially since we didn't get any bread, I likely would have ordered an appetizer) We weren't asked what type of dressing we wanted on our salad - apparently, you get what they decide you want. Our server was a sweetheart which is why this is getting two stars instead of one. Usually Mimi's Cafe doesn't disappoint but the food was EXTREMELY low quality. The servers that came out with our main server to help her hand out the food had really nasty attitudes. One of them screamed at us the name of the dish because the plate was burning her hand. That's why there's sleeves specifically made for carrying hot plates. Being a server myself I already knew those plates were blazing hot because they had been left under the heat lamp for awhile. Hot plate cold food. I asked for a bacon & egg croissant and I wasn't made aware that they were out of croissants until they brought it out on sourdough bread I kindly asked to have it changed to white bread but the sandwich was cold and nasty. The cheese on it was partially melted but had hardened and looked repulsive. I ended up taking a couple of bites because I was hungry but I had to push it aside. They're chicken pot pie I'm sure is frozen in the back and they just toss into the microwave because that's the type of quality it had. Their chicken and waffles was very blegh a little undercooked on the waffle. Overall as you can tell my whole family and myself were very dissatisfied with the quality of the food. I ordered delivery for the two of us through GrubHub. When my order arrived, one full meal was missing. I texted the GrubHub driver, thinking perhaps it had been forgotten. Upon further investigation, the order has been removed, and a refund processed, all with ZERO outreach or notification. I called the restaurant and spoke to Brendan, who was apologetic, explaining that they'd run out of the entree I requested, but offered no resolution or refund. When I asked him why he hadn't made the simple and reasonable gesture of contacting me to inform me and offer alternatives, he replied that there were "too many tablets to keep up with", and that his training in such situations was to simply remove the item. this is the second time we've been to this location where the service has been horrible. we were seated right away but noticed multiple tables of people without food. which we should have been taken as a sign. it took about 20 minutes to get our order taken and drinks. we then waited an hour without any refills or even updates from the server. the table next to us started to get frustrated and then found the manager. after this the server did come around and fill up our water but still with no updates. we then decided to leave. the ambiance has such great potential it's a shame that the service is so awful. sadly we will not be returning. read more

My car is being finicky so I decided to get Mimi's delivered. (I am thrilled at the amount of options for delivery when I'm unable to get out of the house, or when I'm just being lazy.) I got a ceasar salad and French onion soup. The salad was good, lots of cheese (yum!) and the dressing was definitely flavorful. It wasn't generic tasting like you get at most restaurants in the area. Overall, good salad, I'm happy with it. The soup. Guys, French onion soup is one of my top 5 favorite things in the world. I have had French onion soup (which I will now refer to as FOS) made from scratch from my French neighbors. Mimi's has previously been one of the few places I've felt was comparable. (Nothing will ever be as good, I'm sure, so I dont hold restaurants here to as high of standards when it comes to FOS.) This was paltry at best. There were two little croutons, a smidge of cheese, and the bowl left much to be desired. (This was a bowl, not a cup.) when I've had this before it's been a full bowl, brimming with yummy onions, loads of cheese and the perfect amount of bread/croutons/whatever it is. Another disappointment! This time a National Chain. Service was pretty good but not great, as I expected for the price I was paying. Two of us dined for $78.10 and ate food that was sub even IHOP or DENNY'S quality. A restaurant that had a theme of New Orleans and the French Quarter but only had two menu items that represented the theme. It was like paying to go to Disneyland and getting a State Fair instead. I ordered the House Salad, which was nicely presented and prepared, Grilled Salmon with broccoli and rice. The Salmon had no taste and was so badly prepared that I wasn't even sure it was fish. The Broccoli was soggy and wilted and tasted as if it was over boiled in water instead of steamed. The rice was nicely cooked but had no flavor or added spice s or butter to give it any type of reason to eat it. My wife ordered a Tomato Basil Soup that came to the table served as thick as Marinara Sauce that one would use to put on a pizza dough to make pizza. It should have been advertised as Tomato Paste with a little Basil. She then ordered a menu item called Jambalaya. It should have been called, Left Over Tomato Paste from our Tomato Basil Soup with Extra Black Pepper and pieces of Chicken and Shrimp. The next item was our desserts . I was expecting something marvelous after such a devastating blow in food quality and preparation. No, it couldn't be done at Mimi's Cafe. We received our two desserts of Chocolate Hot Lava Cake. It was advertised that it came with the Lava Cake Drizzled with Chocolate Sauce, Vanilla Ice Cream and a Strawberry. It was delivered with the Lava Cake Drizzled with Chocolate Sauce, 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Ice Cream and then 1/4 Sliced Strawberry or even less? So less than impressed with this place. The service and server was ok and kept our glasses full of water and lemonade. But the Menu, Food, Cook and Quality was so subpar that it made me wonder if this company was just barely hanging on to staying open. read more

This is the best place ever! The food is incredible! My mom and I ordered an omelet and waffles and the food was amazing! We also got muffins to go because yes! The waiters were amazing! We never had to ask for more coffee or cream she just was there making sure we had everything and I was never interrupted when I was eating! Love the environment it's friendly and inviting! The most negative point about this restaurant is the service. There was hardly anyone there, and it was hard to get the attention of any of the waiters. Years ago, You used to get these beautiful muffins and carrot bread with your order, now you have to ask for bread. We asked for bread and waited and waited and waited when the bread came. It was just some French bread that wasn't even very good. We had six people at our table and they brought us three pieces of bread. They said the rest was cooking. The first batch they brought us was pretty terrible, the second batch that has supposedly just been cooked was more fresh, but still only so so. I had a Cobb salad, which was fine as far as taste. It seemed that the cheese was cheap, though, because blue cheese should be pretty strong, and it was barely noticeable. One of my friends had soup and it came out lukewarm. She had to have them reheat it. Basically I would say we went here because of memories of a good restaurant in the past, I would say don't waste your money and time. read more
