Eggplant, Cheese Bread, Chicken Stew, Mushroom Dumplings, Beef Dumpling, Beef Soup
    Nancy D.

New Georgian food fan here. New as in I just discovered it last week when I was in Seattle for a couple of days. I found a Georgian cheese bread cafe that looked amazing. I decided to try over regular American breakfast since I've never seen Georgian food plus the sexy cheese bread pics sold me. One bite of the soft bread, cheese, and egg I was on Yelp looking for Georgian food in back home in SF. So glad I found Mimino!!! We got the cheese bread, eggplant, chicken stew, both the mushroom and beef dumplings and a beef soup. Hella bomb! The bread was still warm and the cheese still melty when it got to us. The eggplant was still in tact and super flavorful none of that mushy eggplant mess. The chicken stew was also flavorful I just wish the pieces of chicken were smaller. I opened the soup and a strong smell of dill hit my nostrils. I was kinda sad I normally don't like dill but it worked so well in this beefy soup. It's a pop up and delivery only, had some trouble trying to place an order but called in and the guy that answered was super helpful. Will def order again!!!

When I came back to them a couple years later, the price point had gone up & I was priced out.) The portion sizes were large. I think it was like $12-13/meal. 99% of the dishes were delicious. I was REALLY pleasantly surprised at the flavor & taste. I expected gentrified dishes. It was good! I was also specifically looking for meal delivery that generated less waste. Planter table delivered that. I got cool enough with my driver (and tipped well!) that he brought me a little thank you plant. I loved that I had the same driver each time. It was just a really pleasant experience overall. Nothing bad to say.

I am not vegan but this hits the spot and is the best meal service I have found. The food is still amazing and I'm happy to see the meal options have expanded, there's seasonal produce options and Acme bread, and now they post calorie information. They have family style option to get a bigger portion for those who have a family, or for me, to bring to a pot luck. They also have individual desserts and full size pies/cakes. Seriously - they have everything. They no longer offer wine for those who care. There are some additional pick up options, too, but I stick with Jack London Square on Wednesdays from 11:30-2:00. Pro tip: get the cookie dough!!!!! And the chili. And the breakfast burritos. And the bake at home pizza ........ $20 credit Referral code: QWC3D2MJ

Having someone to do menu planning and grocery shopping was a huge time saver and ensured that we had home-cooked meals to eat rather than falling back to ordering takeout every night. Johanna provided a wide variety in her meals. Most menus came directly from her, but sometimes I would request certain types of food or specific dishes she had made in the past that were our favorites. Johanna tailored her menus to meet my dietary restrictions (low saturated fat). She always left the kitchen clean with clear instructions for the meals and even some cooking tips along the way! Johanna came every 2 weeks but was flexible around holidays and vacation. Would absolutely recommend her services!

My (now) husband is a severe Celiac and so making sure all food is completely Gluten-free was the number one concern. The Chef was quick to respond and so helpful in brainstorming a potential menu for the event (we settled on Mexican). She then got started on putting together the recipes and gathering the proposed ingredient list. This is where the Chef went above and beyond for us-she sent us the full recipes and proposed ingredients(down to the specific brands) so that we could ensure that everything was free from gluten and free from cross-contamination (a shocking amount of spices are processed on the same equipment as wheat). She even was able to find a way to make gluten free Tres Leches and Tiramisu (our favorites). For our wedding cakes! Menu: Crudités with Green Goddess Dip Queso Fundido with Chorizo Pico de Gallo Chopped Salad Chili Verde Stew Slow Cooked Barbocoa Tacos Roasted Zucchini Sweet Bell Pepper Rice Spicy Citrus Black Beans Tres Leches with strawberries Tiramisu Preparation: The chef packaged up all of our food so that my sister could pick it up and transport it (our venue was 4 hours north of the bay). She provided detailed instructions for reheating the food and prepping the cakes. She even made sure we would have any additional utensils that would be necessary. She gave me an accurate and in-depth invoice that broke down the expenses and made it easy to work into our wedding budget. Food: WOW WOW WOW! The best part (obviously) was the food! Everything was fresh and vibrant and so so delicious! The Queso provided the best cheese pull I have ever seen and my husband and I are still drooling over that Tres Leches and my family keeps bringing up how incredible the dinner was! Additionally my husband was able to freely eat everything to his hearts content, confident that he wouldn't become ill on our special day. I cannot recommend Chef Johanna enough!!

I was a little unsure about them at first, but they ended up being a 10 out of 10. I was honestly craving more as soon as I finished them. Of course, we had to try the Acharuli Classic cheese boat, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The staff kindly showed us how to mix and eat it, which made the experience even better. The cheese was incredibly rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. We loved it so much that we ordered another version, the Imeruli cheese pie, and it was just as good. One thing to note is that the food is very filling, especially with how cheese-heavy it is, so come hungry. The upside is that the leftovers hold up really well. I reheated mine in the oven, and it tasted almost as good as it did fresh, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, this place completely won me over. I'm excited to come back, try more of the menu, and definitely reorder the mushroom dumplings, Acharuli Classic, and Imeruli.

Drink ordered: Tarragon Georgian Soda (10/10): the color is intimidating but the flavor is so delicious! Almost herb/licorice-like even though I don't like licorice. We ended up getting 2 bottles of this since we drank it so fast from the hot weather Food ordered: Bacon Acharuli Khachapuri (7/10): comes with the egg! Score is lowered because they forgot the bacon and gave it to us after we had finished a good portion of it but it came uncooked (apparently the bacon is supposed to cook in the cheese) but since we were almost already done with it, we requested for the bacon to be cooked separately. I would opt for the classic next time and not the bacon because it already was amazing without it. If we didn't have the issue with the forgotten bacon, this would be 9/10 for me. Chicken Mtsvadi (8/10): It was pretty good but in comparison to everything else we ordered, it didn't stand out. I did enjoy the sauce it came with though! Soko Ketsze (9/10): I really liked the mushroom especially with the cheese and definitely feel like this is more like a shared appetizer. Beef Georgian dumplings (10/10): my biggest fear with these is that they're always going to somehow taste gamey but this wasn't at all! I loved the seasoning and how it's like a giant xiao long bao. I definitely would get these again and try the other flavors as well! These are a must get if you come! Georgian Chocolate Honey Cake (10/10): get this. Just make sure you get this if you love a honey cake. The chocolate makes it that much better Napoleon (9/10): soft, flakey with light cream. An absolute dream but the honey cake was my fave 100% will be coming back!
