While the coffee is great, but the food that I had when I visited not so much. I had just missed the breakfast/brunch/lunch offer, so I just went from an Eggs Benny plan to a warm lunch plan.
Anyways, since this is an Italian place, I decided that why not just go with one of the pastas. While I was a bit disappointed that the pasta was not fresh, I still figured that an Italian place will do a good spaghetti dish regardless. Unfortunately, again, not so much. The pasta was undercooked (not al dente, actually undercooked), which you could clearly see by looking a the profile of the spaghetti when sliced through. It was quite a pity since the sauce was rather good. I spooned some of the sauce, and left most of my spaghetti.
Although the waitress asked what happened, and was genuinely sorry when I told her what was up, the 'chef' had somewhat of a more offhanded attitude. While never actually coming to the table, he told her that it does not matter, as he cannot make everyone happy. While I agree that tastes and preferences vary, and indeed you cannot make everyone happy, I am also convinced that if there is one person sitting at that time in a restaurant, and you are a person seemingly in charge of the food of said restaurant, you should at least give it a nice college try.
I hope my future food experiences will be better, though, I am not sure when that will be. As I do still like their coffee, for now I just might stick to that with some of their sweets to go with my coffee. read more
