The last plumbing service we used said we needed to find a ""drain guy" like roto-rooter". So we looked around and found five-star. Like the name implies. They give great service. Turns out they provide plumbing drain and heating services. We've found our new go-to. Very knowledgeable, fast, courteous, and AFFORDABLE. Will use again and would 100% recommend.

I had a slow kitchen drain and every year it clogs (because I need to be better about not letting…read morecoffee grounds get into the disposal). This year was the worst. After the first company that I contacted this year gave me a jug of drain cleaner (which didn't help) and called it a day, I called Five Star. Jamie diagnosed the problem and fixed it the same day at a much lower price than I expected. I also got a recommendation and an estimate on how to prevent the problem from recurring and an open invitation to schedule the work when I was ready to have it done. It was so great not to be hassled into having to do the work right away. This is the only company that I'll be using.

They were at my house at 8:30am the next morning clearing out the competitor's tank and replacing with their tanks and filling them. This was with 2 feet of snow on the ground! They were very thorough and were a breath of fresh air after what I had been through with the other propane company. They have since kept my tank filled without my having to call them. And their prices are much better than what I had been paying. I'm so thankful I made the change.

When I asked for an explanation, he said that they were trying to be more efficient, and defended some pretty shady pricing structures. They left all the windows in the apartment wide open. In December. If I had not gone over to check the work, the pipes might have frozen. To top it all off, a piece of furniture that I explicitly told them not to remove, was thrown out. Pros: The company was communicative the entire time, and prompt on arrival. The junk removal itself was well done, and the apartment left in decent condition on their exit. Cons: Misleading pricing, VERY far off estimates. When Zach arrived and we did the walkthrough, we went through everything that needed to be done. He gave me the estimate of 2 guys for "2 hours tops". The final tally (for day 1) ended up being 2 guys for 4-5 hours + 2 guys for 3 hours. Day 2 was 3 guys for an additional 2 hours. In follow up communications, he tried to spin it as 'saving me money'. Going from 2 guys ~2 hours to ~3-4 guys for ~6-7 hours is misleading. There was a heavy stove found in the basement that added a complication, but not to the tune of ~2x the labor for 3-4x the time. Additionally, there is a sliding scale on pricing for truck bed space. I've worked with several junk companies before for jobs -- no one else I've worked with has ever had that pricing structure. When you tell someone that a full truck load of junk costs $1150, they would expect it to be $287.50 per quarter. Not some sliding scale 'bulk discount on junk truck space'. This is the sort of thing you would expect from some megacorp with hidden fees and unclear pricing. I will not be doing business with this company again, and cannot recommend anyone else to do the same.
