Harbor Lights Condominium

Your experience at Harbor Lights totally depends on your expectations... and the particular floor…read moreand building you're occupying. Let's face it, the outside looks hideous and scary. And my understanding is that in the 1990's there were REAL problems. I bought my unit in April 2017 and renovated it. I spent the month of July there and everyone was totally nice and pleasant. My unit is totally new and remodeled and so were many of the ones on my floor---D building, 4th floor. I love hearing the mynah birds "meeting" just before dawn and sunset (they are loud, but I stopped waking up after a couple of days), and I love hearing the children playing on the playground during the day, usually 1-6 pm. It's totally quiet after 8 pm. It's never really loud, in fact. I've never been remotely scared and the security is ever-present and friendly. The office is responsive and courteous. The biggest drawback, IMHO, is that none of the units have lanai/patios, so it's very apartment-y. The complex residents are diverse and from many different countries and economic circumstances. There are lots of families with small children (and the cutest babies ever!). This is not a tourist experience---it's a local experience. And there's no AC. I've seen some gangsta-looking men in the building but when I'm friendly and pleasant they've offered to hold the elevator for me, carry my packages, and have been generally nice. Coming from Los Angeles, it's all a breath of fresh air. I'm sure there are bad eggs in the Harbor Lights basket, but I haven't met them. That said, I'd be sure and tour the unit and floor you're looking at---for example, the other 1/2 of my floor sounds a lot louder than the half I'm on.

Beware of this property. Ever changing resident property manager, no consistency when it comes to…read moreoffice hours. Poor maintenance of laundry rooms on all buildings. Original elevators from the 70's never upgraded and always breaking down. Surveillance cameras not working. Property needs to be tented because of horrible roach problem. each unit only has one parking stall and the annex parking stalls is now $100 a month. Maintenance fees for two bedroom units for owners is now $700 a month yet nothing to show for. Lots of trespassers on property security has no authority to detain to notify police until they arrive. Barbecue grills are out of order. And there's more. Avoid at all cost. If you are buying a unit. No what your getting into.

How do I not give a star rating?…read more At this 1 person brokerage - You have to fight for you deposit and prove that you are owed prorated rent. This brokerage and broker/owner RAE YOSHIDA- tried to manipulate the truth regarding our prorated rent and called my husband and I - PROFESSIONAL EXTORTIONISTS. Lol. After describing my experience, let's see who's the PROFESSIONAL EXTORTIONIST . When we asked when will we get our prorated rent check/monies , she basically responded "I don't have the money and that we'd have to take it up with the owner." She's the property manager, why is it our responsibility to get the monies owed us? Next, she hired An "esquire" who wrote to us, trying to ridicule and scare us. Stating untrue facts like, "you were paid" and "to take it up with our bank because a check was cashed". This is some bullsh@t! As a result, my husband nailed these pilau people to the cross! They had no proof of anything. Please message me to see these letters. I will gladly send you a copy! If you are AKAMAI you need to know. Remember, she claims to be a professional who has to abide by the realtor code. SHE LIED AND COMMINGLED. BEWARE. Read your contract! And do your DUE DILIGENCE. I would never recommended this business to anyone.

Home Managers LLC. is VERY BAD NEWS! The broker Rae Yoshida is a locally despised person for her…read morehighly abrasive and disputatious personality. My wife and I rented a home from H.M., LLC. in December of 2020 for a year with our lease ending on December 15th. We interacted with a representative from H.M. who is no longer with that company. The problems started when we moved a year later and tried to collect our refund, prorated rent and other money owed us for a shared (with another unit), electric account that is in my name. The rules required Yoshida to return our deposit and others monies owed within TWO WEEKS. Nearly four weeks and scores of phone calls later, we have yet to receive a dime of what we are owed. Apparently Yoshida DID attempt to mail our deposit check back - which was 'returned to sender' - but has made NO ATTEMPT (or even mentioned), the return of our owed prorated rent or the reimbursement of the monies owed by her clients to us for our electric bill. When pressed, she's made bizarre statements about "not having the money" to refund our prorated rent and stating that the "owners have our last rent check" and that the property owners are financially responsible, not her (a total and insultingly stupid lie, all monies went through her office). Frustrated, I contacted our county Renters Rights hotline and was told that if I wanted my money back, my only recourse was to file an action against Yoshida in small claims court! I have done so and am looking forward to getting an official judgement against her in court and finally getting our money back. I urge everyone to avoid HOME MANAGERS, LLC. like a plague. There are many other much better realtors and property managers available who deal with people honestly.
