Millie taken every note what's needed to take care of my Shiba. In the past dog groomers, my little one was always scared and wanting to run out of the shop. THE BEST GROOMER in ARIZONA!!!!! I have been coming to Millie's Dog World for nearly 2 years. My dogs are like my children so I wanted somewhere where they would be well looked after. A past grooming experience left me scarred. I could out they used DISH SOAP to clean my dog, which left him with a severe skin allergy. I was horrified to find this out. Plus they charged an awful lot and didn't do half of the work! I did a lot of research, and found out nearly all of the grooming shops use DISH SOAP!! All accept Millie!! When I rang to book an appointment she was so friendly, and had an appointment for me for the next day. When I went there she took the time to show me the products used. She has been in this business for 30years!! My dog was in and out within 90mins. The only reason it took that long was because he is difficult with his nails, which I knew all ready and made sure I informed her! My dog came out looking, smelling the best that he ever has!!! We had our two dogs done (on two different occasions) at Millie's. She returned my call for an appointment promptly and enthusiastically. Greeted us with a warm friendly smile and took our dog right away at our scheduled time. After a brief consult asking how we wanted him cut, off they went. Within an hour, he was done and she called to let us know he was ready to come home. The grooming was impeccable and well worth the price. I will bring my dogs here for all their grooming. Very nice owner and prompt service. Double the cost of any other groomer I've been to ($150 for a haircut!) and was regaled upon pickup with how difficult my (4 year old) goldendoodle was to groom. I've been to several groomers who have only had positive things to say. Apparently he was so scared he defecated on the drying table, which makes me question how they may have tried to control him (They said 3 people had to restrain him). May be good for smaller dogs but will not be a repeat customer. Also cash only for some reason (told after drop off) and no initial quote given before going, or would have gone elsewhere. read more

I have taken 3 dogs, over the course of many years, to Millie's for grooming. The first dog was a rescued shepherd mix who could not get along with other dogs at all. I was anxious about how he would behave if there were other dogs in the shop, but he desperately needed his heavy coat shaved for summer as well as his nails trimmed, and so we called for an appointment. Millie reassured us all would be fine and off we went. Not only was her work beautiful, but Donovan was calm in spite of other dogs being present who were waiting for pickup, and even a cat that was being dropped off at the same time I arrived to get him. I was hooked on Millie right then, and my opinion has only improved over the years. Since that time, Millie has also provided superb grooming to my rescued Standard poodle/Portuguese water dog, Johnny Angel and my AKC Standard Poodle puppy, Mr. Darcy. Millie is always understanding of each dog's and breed's special temperament and needs. She gives the cuts I request and makes additional recommendations or suggestions as needed based on her experience. The products used at the shop are of the highest quality and safe for the animal's eyes and skin. In addition, Millie quotes one price, and that includes everything that she needs to do to properly groom that dog or cat. There are no "additional" charges for special needs such as cleaning the hair and wax out of ears, trimming nails and so on, which seems go be common practice in many other shops now. I have recommended Millie's services, for both cats and dogs, to a number of friends and family members over the years. Those people who followed up were all pleased, but I think my highest recommendation is this: 2 1/2 years ago I moved from a neighborhood near to Millie's shop, to Cave Creek, about 45 minutes away. With such a drive, I thought I would try some local groomers. Poor service, sloppy "grooming," "appointments"v during which my dog waited for 4 hours before receiving services, and multiple additional charges later, I decided the drive into Phoenix is well worth it! read more

Well, my wife and I just brought our booger child, Biscuitz, home from Millie's. I cannot say enough how good of a job she did. He can be a pill at times but she really knew how to talk to him and physically handle him. I am extremely impressed with the way she listened to us about how we wanted his hair cut and nailed it with no issues. We paid a little more than what we were used to but it's so worth it. It was fair for the grooming world. I have paid more and I've paid less. She explained to me that she only does one hour appointments. She is the only person at this shop and she owns it. This means she is going to treat you good. She is getting me in on fri at 5:30 pm. Let's be honest nobody likes working late on a Friday but she is happy to do so. I'd only ever taken my lab mix to the groomer at our vet to get his nails trimmed or Petsmart. He's a real difficult dude to get bathed and his slick Labrador coat is surprisingly thick. All and all bathing him is a struggle at home. I decided to take him to Millie and it was such a good decision. He was pretty unhappy about getting groomed, but Millie kept a positive attitude and kept him calm. She kept emphasizing that this first visit would be our most difficult visit because it was all new to him and that the goal was to keep it as pleasant as possible so that he would happily return and they would establish trust. Talk about the right kind of attitude for a nervous dog owner to hear when she is seeing her (70lb) baby try to run from the blow dryer. Cash hates the water (which is so weird for a boxer) and I was hesitant to bring him in because I didn't want him to be a pain for her, but she is definitely the dog whisperer! He loves Millie and I know he's always in good hands when he goes to see her. Recently Cash became infested with ticks that he must have picked up from the dog park. I called Millie freaking out since he had never had them before I didn't know what to do. We have four dogs but we have two of them groomed by Millie, a Siberian Husky and a Cockapoo. Millie has always been incredible at getting us into the shop at a convenient time and working with our schedule. She is exceedingly caring, and genuinely interacts with you and your pets to provide you with the most personal experience. Our Siberian Husky has some special needs and Millie is always amazing with her. She can be a difficult dog to groom, but after working with Millie she has become more comfortable with being groomed. Millie also did a really amazing cut on our cockapoo puppy. We wanted to try something different so we asked for a mohawk. We truly love his stylish look. Her shop is a small mom and pop joint, but I would not trade the personal experience for going to a corporate grooming shop such as Petsmart. We love Millie's!!! read more
