I told them the website says there are available gynecologists that are "accepting new patients." She then told me I STILL can't make an appointment unless I've had an annual with them (I haven't). I then told her the testing is sorta urgent, and she told me to go to urgent care then. Jeez. It's like they don't want my money or my business and tried to do everything possible to steer me away from the office.

The St. Vincent online portal is easy to use and there is plenty of parking. The office is located in downtown Broad Ripple. Dr. Sood and everyone else I have interacted with there have always been kind, helpful and understanding, no matter if I have a health concern to discuss or need to reschedule an appointment. I get pretty anxious about doctor's appointments and very queasy/lightheaded with blood work, etc. and the techs have been so patient and nice and helped make me as comfortable and distracted as possible which makes a huge difference for me. I would recommend this office to anyone, and even though I haven't lived in Broad Ripple for a few years, I have continued to use them!

Dr. Phillips was amazing in my first visit to her. I arrived early and was brought back to an exam room only a minute after sitting down in the waiting room! The service was so great, I had to finish filling out my initial paperwork at the end of my appointment. Dr. Phillips is extremely nice, very personable, and was a pleasure to speak with. It almost seemed like I had been going to her for years -- but it was my first appointment! The location is Broad Ripple is convenient and parking is hidden so it is not consumed by the craziness around Broad Ripple. The office staff was very helpful and extremely nice, I felt very welcome. She also does Gyno visits so she is a one stop shop for us females! She seemed concerned about some bruising I had on my leg. She didnt brush it off, but dug into my family history to see if it could have been something serious. I had some testing done that ended up not being covered by insurance. Her staff worked very hard to get insurance to adjust the bill. In the end, after many many hours of hard work from her staff, and many many faxes later, I was able to get the bill dramatically reduced. I brought them flowers to show my gratitude. Its not every clinic that provides such quality of care! They all went the extra mile and that doesn't go unnoticed!

I recently had my primary care doctor relocated and needed to obtain a new one. As I've recently…read morebeen in the IU health system due to a cancer diagnosis that needed their level of expertise, I decided it made sense to try to stay within the IU system. Dr. Boyce is located at the IU Health - Glendale practice in Glendale Town Center at 62nd and Keystone. It's a convenient location to my home and pretty accessible. The practice is located on the second floor of the office side of the center. If you need accessibility, as I do, I recommend parking in the accessible parking spots in front of Mattress Firm. Right next to Mattress Firm, there's a small retail spot that serves as a lobby and contains an elevator that will take you to the practice. Getting off the elevator, go right and you'll go right to it. The practice itself has automatic doors, a rare thing at Glendale Town Center but a nice touch here. I won't so much say that Dr. Boyce was referred to me. I am currently getting wound care and needed a primary care doctor to sign off on my plan. As the need was time sensitive (or it would interrupt my care), I basically requested a female physician and the staff at the wound care clinic got an appointment with the first available. I absolutely loved my previous primary care doctor and it was hard to switch and I went into this with some hesitation. Dr. Boyce only works Wednesday-Friday in the clinic. She's got privileges at IU Health - Methodist and IU - University hospitals. I liked that she came in with questions - I have a pretty complex history and I've had primary care physicians decline to follow me. My previous doctor also had an MPA - so there was a strong knowledge of the system that helped someone like me. Dr. Boyce doesn't have that and admitted a lack of experience with issues like going through ordering wheelchairs and wheelchair parts and other medical supplies. So, there will definitely be a learning curve for both of us. She specifically noted that I could reach out to her via the MyIUHealth system, a convenience I appreciate, and did a thorough exam. She expressed a couple of concerns. We discussed a couple of medications, though in the end didn't really go for anything at this point. We agreed that I would schedule every six months - I'd previously done quarterly, however, that was prior to obtaining a urologist that now addresses a lot of my concerns. The room I was in was definitely not ADA - this bothered me. There was, however, a cool bed that was lower to the ground than I am used to. The clinic also doesn't seem to have adaptive equipment - for example, they could not weigh me as a paraplegic/wheelchair user. This was a solid experience. Dr. Boyce and I agreed this situation would work and I scheduled a next appointment. I can also schedule things online.

Where to even begin... I thought that I had major issues with IU Health when I used to go to them…read morefor PCP services and then I experienced the hell that is St. Vincent. With my insurance, I'm given a free annual preventative wellness exam. This means that anything that is preventative in nature (i.e. you don't have anything but want to prevent anything from happening; vaccinations, vitals, etc.) is all included and my insurance pays for 100% of it. With this in mind, I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for a PCP. Before I get into that hot mess, I'll include that they give you ONE NUMBER for literally everything. That one number is somehow supposed to get you to billing, your PCP office, scheduling an appointment, and anything else. Their phone system is horrible and insanely challenging to use. I scheduled an appointment for preventative care. During my appointment, my doctor advised I get some vaccinations even though I've already had them and also assumed my sexual orientation and personal life without asking any questions based on her assumption of my sexual orientation. She advised that I also get an HIV test, even though I expressed that I had the opposite issue. She also pressured me to get the flu shot when I told her that I didn't want one and made me feel bad about it. She advised that I go to the lab and get lab tests done for blood work (as per my request during the exam). She didn't tell me where it was, when I needed to go, what I was supposed to do, etc; I had to ask her everything. To make matters worse, I then get my bill and it's over 300x what I'm supposed to owe. I call my insurance and they acknowledge that they miscoded something so I called St. Vincent (somehow got to someone pressing random buttons on the call system). They told me everything was correct and that I was charged properly. I was annoyed, but I sucked it up and ate the cost. My PCP then referred me to a specialist within the network shortly after. I arrived and had to wait 45 minutes after my scheduled time. After waiting, I was then not even seen by the doctor, but rather a resident who was not even from this hospital. That stuff annoys me. I pay to see the doctor I schedule to see. Not only that, but I then get the bill and come to find out I've been incorrectly charged for something 3x more than what I owe. Again. I call the insurance, furious, and again, they tell me that they are going to directly call them and figure it out because they "need to get their act together." I also called St. Vincent to tell them. Finally, they admitted fault and that they incorrectly coded the specialist visit. I'm currently working on getting the preventative care appointment mess figured out. Regardless, I would never recommend coming to this network. Ever.

I constantly have to fight with them concerning my prescriptions and my doctors appointments and the staff is incompetent, rude and just down right unprofessional. Don't trying calling. You NEVER get through and their website is nothing sort of a joke. I'm supposed to have seventy-two (72) hour turn-around on the website. REALLY. If I could afford better, I'd leave in a heartbeat. I am placing them on the news and they need to be investigated. I even had the heads of the hospital and the program get involved. This is ridiculous. Even the insurance companies have a hard time getting in contact with SVPCC.

After a false start visit with an IU Health physician I was referred to by the clinic, I decided that this was the perfect opportunity for me to explore my curiosity with Franciscan Health. I've always heard positive things about Franciscan Health and as someone with a ministry background, though not Catholic, I thought this type of setting might be a healing environment for me and my hope was to find a physician with whom I could build a trusting relationship so that I could avoid my usual avoidance of healthcare. Dr. Willfond is actually employed by the Franciscan Health organization and only recently joined the Cityway practice. Prior to this, I believe she was in a practice near County Line Road on the Marion/Johnson County border. As a sexual assault survivor, I will admit that whenever possible I try to use female providers, though it's certainly not always possible. For primary care, however, it was certainly my hope to find someone either close to my home or close to my work. The Cityway offices are right next to the Irsay YMCA just south of downtown. I work a little over a mile away. The building houses several Franciscan clinics including a lab, sports medicine, massage, radiology and others. The primary care offices are on the first floor. I'd considered one other Franciscan physician, but I got immediately turned off when the first words out of their mouths was "the doctor doesn't prescribe pain medication." Fortunately, I didn't have that experience with Dr. Willfond's office and that's definitely the last thing on my mind. While she's relatively new to this location, she did bring some patients with her and she did have about a 5-week wait for an initial appointment. As I had some urgency due to the leg injury, I definitely attempted to get in more quickly and actually was contacted and was able to get in 11 days earlier than my original appointment after a cancellation. I was impressed that they not only took note of my need, but they did the follow-up. The building does have paid parking, which is validated, but if you have mobility issues while driving you should know that you'll have to grab your parking ticket on the way in and you'll have to insert your ticket and validation on the way out. However, I found it worked seamlessly. There's several accessible parking spots up front and they are ADA compliant. The entryway includes automatic doors as this is a relatively new complex. As you enter the clearly marked clinic entrance, the reception desk is on the right and there's a couple small waiting areas. I was impressed with the intake call and they also called and did pre-registration that saved me, as a slightly spastic paraplegic, from having to write on those small forms the day of the appointment. I received a short video to watch prior to my appointment that basically explained what to expect and how to be prepared. I was taken to my room on time, or at least within five minutes of on time. The room was a bit small and not quite what I'd prefer to see in terms of wheelchair access. If I'd needed to get on the table, that would have been challenging, but it seemed both the nurse and Dr. Willfond adapted well. The rooms are bright and cheery, only minimally decorated and, of course, they have the Franciscan identifiers (a cross) above the door of each room. I don't know if Dr. Willfond had read my record in advance, but she was clearly informed and that gave both of us a good place to start from. As I specifically mentioned my leg concerns, I was impressed that she assertively wanted to see the leg as wrapped by my physical therapist. While the office isn't as well equipped with wrapping supplies, she made sure to re-wrap it and offered understandable clinical opinions and recommendations. Dr. Willfond listened thoroughly and even offered me sort of a "last chance" mention any other concerns. While primary care visits are always tight, I never felt rushed. In fact, handling the wrap was more involved than she expected but she followed through and addressed my concerns. It is my hope that she'll grow into a "safe" place for me to be authentic about my health and my disability while allowing someone to watch for health and skin issues. She was intelligent, informed, kind and felt safe but not in an artificial way. The nurse, as well, was absolutely top notch. If you need labs done, they have a walk-in lab on the second floor. This appointment was exactly what I'd hoped for and I was relieved that Dr. Willfond agreed to be my primary care physician.
