I would like to give a shout out to some of the people I've had the pleasure of talking with over…read morethis past week. I usually shy away from Yelp reviews but I wanted these people to be recognized for their amazing work, because their actions stood out to me and I will never forget these encounters. I had some concerns about my cat Pretzel, so I called VCA and spoke with a lady named Selina. She was extremely sweet but what really stood out to me was her honesty and helpfulness. She told me that based on what I had told her, Pretzel needed to be seen ASAP. She was even able to fit me in 2 days later. I talked to her about 2-3 different times this day, but each time we spoke, she was very nice and helped me with any questions I had. She was very patient as well (dealing with stressed out pet owners is never fun). I wanted to bring her a present of some sort before I arrived to my vet visit 2 days later, however I was extremely short on time due to work. The reason I bring this up is because I've never had an encounter with a receptionist to the point where I felt the need to get them a gift as a thank you, but her customer service was just THAT outstanding. It didn't end there. Upon my arrival to the vet on Friday, I called the front desk to let them know that we have arrived. Shortly after, I get a call from Martin. Martin asked me some questions, I explained to Martin what was going on, and right off the bat I knew I was in good hands. He was just so easy to talk to. He was also incredibly kind (emphasis on incredibly)! He was extremely helpful throughout this entire process, just talking to him eased my stress. He even asked me questions about how my drive was from LA to the Bay Area. This may not seem like much from the outside, but I'm not really used to people asking me questions like this. It's those little thoughtful questions that make you feel cared for. I really enjoyed our conversations - it didn't seem artificial or forced. Of course, he was making sure my cat was doing well too! I have never seen Pretzel that calm at a vet visit before. Just by the way he was interacting with Pretzel, I could tell that he loves and cares for animals. We shared a lot of laughs and smiles, talking to him just felt like a genuine human experience. Martin is a wonderful guy and I hope that everyone gets the privilege of meeting him at least once in their lifetime. Plus, he has a contagious smile! Dr. Bivens was wonderful as usual. Pretzel and I were moving, so she recommended me a vet to visit in our new area (and even a doctor as well)! We even had the chance to talk about college for a bit since we found out that we went to the same university. I was very excited to hear this because Pretzel has been seeing her since before I got accepted to this university. She asked me about what I studied and other related questions. She didn't rush with our visit, she was taking her time as she evaluated my cat which I appreciated so much. I also did not have to wait long for her arrival. I wish I could say the same about my doctors! It's not easy to be in a good mood when you're worried about your pet, but the staff at VCA have incredible hearts that make you feel like it's going to be okay. They really care about you here. Not only your pet, but you! We live in a chaotic time, so it's moments like these that makes me believe that good people exist, and not all is bad. Even if it's a short encounter, moments like these truly make life worth living. With that being said, thank you to the people I've mentioned for making me and Pretzel feel happy and cared for.

JUSTICE FOR BABY! VIRK lied about cancer, killed my dog…read morewithout permission. Necropsy proves it! On March 3, 2025, I brought my dog, Baby, to Alpine Hospital because she was unable to urinate and had a full bladder. Dr. Virk examined her and without presenting any diagnostic evidence, insisted that she had a tumor. He told me the tumor he seen on the x-ray was the size of a grapefruit. He said it could be cancer or pyometria but wouldn't know until he got in there to see. Despite my clear instructions not to proceed with euthanasia even if it was cancer, he euthanized her without my consent and without notifying me afterwards. I told him I wanted a second opinion and we were going to do a home euthanasia. He told me approximately six times to say goodbye to her and I refused because even if it was cancer, I was going to pick her back up.. I also have a video of me in the office talking to him I felt so uneasy with how many times he insisted to say goodbye. I have a video telling her I was picking her back up, I promised her. Before he walked out the office he told me "her surgery is tomorrow, if it is bad I'll let you know and we'll make a decision on the table." He knew the answer would have still been NO! I never signed any papers agreeing to euthanasia. Virk didn't even call me to ask and he didn't even call me to tell me she was gone. He offered a free cremation and I refused because that drew a red flag. I picked her body up and A necropsy was performed by a specialist, a very known and respected Doctor, Dr Evans. The results confirmed that Baby did NOT HAVE CANCER. Additionally, her X-rays showed NO tumors, and her bloodwork was normal. Dr. Virk never showed me these results prior to the procedure. Instead, he repeatedly pressured me to euthanize her, falsely claiming that she had a tumor. When she only had an enlarged bladder from not urinating. He even insisted that I take her home that night to say goodbye to her before the procedure, despite my explicit instructions. I left her because I was picking her up REGARDLESS. it wasn't goodbye. Furthermore, Dr. Virk attempted to spay Baby without my consent and left the procedure unfinished. The necropsy revealed a 1-inch hole in her bladder with 3 inches of stitches under it from his work. Which was never in his notes of his findings after surgery nor was ever mentioned to me when I called and demanded answers. There is no explanation for why he would begin an unauthorized spay procedure on a dog that was brought in for urinary issues. Adding to the severity of this case, Dr. Virk falsified medical records by documenting that I agreed to euthanasia, which I absolutely did not. Multiple people, including myself, explicitly told him that if cancer was suspected, he should close her up so we could seek a second opinion before considering euthanasia. He ignored these instructions. After Baby's death, Dr. Virk attempted to shift blame onto me, stating that her condition was due to "neglect" because she hadn't urinated for two days--the very reason I brought her in for urgent medical care. His failure to diagnose and treat her appropriately, his unauthorized medical procedures, and his ultimate decision to euthanize her without consent amount to serious misconduct. I just recently rescued Baby a few weeks ago, as I'm crying on the phone with VIRK demanding answers after I found out he euthanized her, Dr VIRK said "didn't you just rescue her 3 weeks ago?". I'm sorry WHAT!? What does that matter!? That was my baby! I am already requesting a formal investigation into Dr. Virk's conduct and appropriate disciplinary action, including revocation of his veterinary license. I'm taking Legal action and pressing charges. This was not an isolated mistake; it was a deliberate act of medical malpractice, deception, and unauthorized euthanasia. I have supporting evidence, including: * Necropsy report and live video confirming no cancer and unfinished spay attempt. * X-rays and bloodwork showing no tumor or signs of cancer. * Medical records falsely stating that I consented to euthanasia and she in fact never had a tumor. * Witnesses to explicit instructions not to euthanize regardless. * Voicemail from Dr VIRK letting me know she was gone due to bladder cancer that spread. And much more. MANY falsified records from both Alpine and jelly's place. Dr. Virk's actions were unethical, unlawful, and deeply traumatizing. I trusted this hospital with my dogs life, and instead, my dog was wrongfully killed under his care. I urge the Veterinary Medical Board to hold him accountable and prevent him from harming other animals and pet owners.

I had called ahead and they were able to make an appointment for him right away to save the extra cost of an emergency walk in, my cat was seen immediately and I was able to be in the exam room with him, the staff were knowledgeable and kind and took great care of my fur baby my first visit. It wasn't busy there at all, I returned to pick up additional medications for him and again it was easy in an out, not terribly busy. They lost some starts only due to a particular tech that cared for him during his in patient stay yesterday to receive IV fluids and (I thought) tube feeding and anesthesia. HE DID NOT RECEIVE THE TUBE FEEDING OR ANESTHESIA. I discovered this on picking him up at closing time, he was also soiled with diarrhea that was already dried into his fur at time of pick up, I had called to check on him and was waiting at the clinic an hour before pickup and the diarrhea was only mentioned as she brought him out. The techs name is Andrea who was so neglectful, I was deeply concerned by her demeanor upon meeting her but didn't think much of it, she had just begun her shift and seemed more concerned with eating a yogurt and then going outside to take a break within an hour of her shift beginning than the care of my cat. She wasn't informed about his case when I had questions about his condition and care plan and didn't seem to much care about him aside from whether she had maybe seen him before and if she would recognize him. More importantly she was the tech I was communicating with regarding my cats care and was the one I told directly that I would like to go ahead with the feeding tube and anesthesia. I was charged and extra $575 for these things(returned in credit on his account when I realized this hadn't happened) she had said only "no one told me he was getting that" but I was the one who told her to her face i witnessed her passing this along to the receptionist who added the charges to the payment and then the tech, Andrea, immediately went outside to her car for a ten minute break. Maybe she forgot but that is unacceptable. I was very disappointed he didn't receive the feeding tube, and also very disappointed he was returned to me COVERED IN DIARRHEA he had clearly been sitting in for hours, I was also disappointed that even if they weren't going to clean it they couldn't have given me a heads up about that so I could buy pet shampoo or wipes before pick up given all the time I spent waiting at the vet and the calls to check on him there was plenty opportunity to inform me of this. Nevermind it is poor practice for a clinic to allow a cat to sit in their mess for hours this can cause infection and additional distress. As I understand it it is common practice for a vet to clean an animal that has made a mess in their care before returning them to their owner. I will be speaking with management about this particular vet tech, I had called to talk with them but was told they are traveling and will get back to me... otherwise the care was great and affordable from Lone Tree, however I am left feeling very concerned about the incompetence and general disregard from vet tech Andrea.

I called the morning of my visit (around 9:00 a.m.) and was scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. appointment for my dog's vaccinations and a nail trim. I arrived on time, was put into a room, spoke to an assistant about my dog needs and waited nearly 50 minutes without ever being seen by a vet, During that entire time, no one communicated that there was a delay or provided any kind of update. I finally had to approach the front desk myself, only to be told that I would need to reschedule. This was especially frustrating since I had specifically set aside time in the middle of a busy workday for this appointment. Had I been informed of the delay, I could have made an informed decision instead of wasting my time. What's even more concerning is what happened after. I requested to be contacted directly by a manager or owner to discuss the situation and determine whether I could confidently return. I also followed up in writing. I never received a call, email, or any acknowledgment whatsoever. The lack of communication during the visit was unacceptable. The complete lack of accountability afterward is even worse. For a first-time client, this experience felt disorganized, unprofessional, and dismissive of both my time and my pet's care. I would strongly caution others to consider this before booking an appointment here.

The compassion of the Vet and RVN cannot be beat. I am amazed and humbled that such kind professionals took care of G'dog even with all the volume of pets involved. Luckily, only two teeth extractions were needed. One of the meds for the teeth extraction is liquid and needs to be refrigerated, but I got a cup of ice from a fast food place for the long drive home. For me, it was worth taking the time off and exploring the area, even with the extra driving time. I was at the Pet Advocates office door around 7:45am and I was heading home by 3:30PM. I will be coming back to Pet Advocates for as long as I can. Many thanks to the vet and staff who patiently took care of G'dog. He is already doing better without the previous pain in his mouth.

Last week my 11 year old cat Salem stopped eating and was hiding under the bed constantly, which is so unlike her. We called around and managed to get a same day appointment on a Saturday here, which was incredible, and once we took Salem in the vet discovered she had multiple teeth with lesions on them that needed to be extracted ASAP. They reviewed all the risks of the procedures and recommended tests to run ahead of time to make sure Salem would do well under anesthesia for the amount of time it took to remove the teeth. Yes, the tests were expensive, but they were also run on extremely short notice for a surgery scheduled 4 days in advance, so we went ahead with them. The vet sent us home with some pain meds in the meantime to make sure Salem could eat while we waited for the surgery. All the test results came back normal and her surgery was last Wednesday. They ended up having to extract 8 teeth, but the surgery overall was a success! Salem came out of anesthesia a little loopy but otherwise in good spirits. The recovery wasn't easy - she was in a lot of pain during the days immediately following the surgery, so the nurse who took care of Salem let us come by at the end of the day to pick up more kitty pain meds for her. The difference now is like night and day. She's back to her old self, wolfing down wet food, cuddling with me, and meowing for attention constantly. I was so nervous about the entire surgical process but the team here could not have handled it better. Thank you all so much for taking care of Salem!!
