I'm not really one to leave reviews but my dog has pretty bad kennel cough. The staff and kate requested that I come around back to do a full exam in the middle of the parking lot because he's contagious, She guessed his weight and made him uncomfortable by just touching him all over on the concrete. He was very skittish and obviously scared it looked like she was almost scared of him. She was able to give him medication but I just think it's very irresponsible of the clinic to not have a room separate for bacterial infections and instead prescribe him a medication in the parking lot lol.

My vet Kate Killian refused to help my dog in an emergency in the middle of the day. They are my regular vet and only a block away from my house. My dog had ingested some pills and needed his stomach pumped immediately. I was told no with the excuse of low staff. The receptionist was shockingly callous and didn't even bother to talk to the vet or offer medical advice, despite being my dogs primary vet. They could have charged me their emergency care grand or two, I didn't care and just needed help. They had vets on staff doing non emergency things. I will also be filing a complaint against Kate Killian w/ the California State Medical Licensing Board. Needless to say, I and others in my family will be taking all of our animals out of their care permanently. This place is NOT reliable or deserving of your business. Attached photo of dog they were OK hurting.

I recently switched to this clinic after learning they have Japanese doctors and staff who are highly experienced with the strict pet import process for Japan. From the start, they answered all my questions and concerns with such promptness and accuracy, which instantly eased my anxiety. When I brought one of my cats in for a rabies vaccination, I requested Japanese assistance, and a wonderful Japanese staff member accommodated us. The clinic and examination rooms are exceptionally clean, and the wait times are very short. The staff member was so warm and kind that even my cat warmed up to her right away! She listened so empathetically to all my worries about our big move, and a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. We are still in the middle of our preparations, but thanks to this wonderful team, I feel confident that everything will go smoothly. They truly care about your pets and do the best they can. My dog has anxiety and is always a nervous wreck when I bring him in. They are always consistent and do their best to provide great service and educate you on what may be going on with your pet. Overall, I'd recommend this vet to anyone as they have always taken such great care of Iggy. Sorry again when he gets a little snappy when you try to check his temperature

Alpine Veterinary Hospital - Dr. VIRK and Buddy, my 17 year old Miniature Pincher

Alpine Veterinary Hospital

(584 reviews)

Dear Dr. Virk and the Alpine Veterinary Hospital Staff,…read more There are no words that can fully capture the depth of my gratitude for what you have done for our family. On July 5, Timor suffered an IVDD episode. His July 8 surgery at Sage Concord was unsuccessful, and by July 15, I was told there was nothing more that could be done. I sat in that room with the paperwork signed, preparing to say a final goodbye to my sweet 8-year-old boy. My heart was shattered. In our darkest moment, Dr. Virk, you walked into the room, asked how old Timor was, and simply told me to go home. When all hope seemed lost, you chose to keep fighting for my boy. From that first day, Timor was in the compassionate care of his therapy technician, Anas, and the entire Alpine team. The team went above and beyond, working tirelessly with Timor with endless patience, gentle hands, and a heart of gold. Together, Anas and the team became an indispensable part of his healing journey. When you called me two weeks later, tears filled my eyes. Timor's back legs were still paralyzed, but his catheters were gone. He was going to the bathroom completely on his own, and his sweet spirit was fully intact. He looked incredibly happy, although his familiar feisty side remained, he still growled when handled and was ready to bite the technicians if given the chance. Now, 12 weeks later, after several sessions of acupuncture and red-light therapy, Timor is walking and running again. He may not move exactly as he once did, but he is here, he is alive, and he is happy. You did not just save Timor's life; you saved our family from a lifetime of heartbreak. We have our boy back, and we will count our blessings and thank God every day for the healing heroes at Alpine who made his recovery possible. Thank you from the depths of our hearts. With all our love and eternal gratitude, Ragini & Timor ________________________________________

After we arrived the Dr accessed and then emailed an estimated cost to which you agree to and pay electronically. Melissa A. was Lacy's nurse/tech, I don't know her title exactly but she was AWESOME with Lacy ( and me, lol ). First she administered drops in her eyes to make her vomit. After it works then they reverse it with a shot. Then they rehydrated her via IV. Followed by charcoal mixed with baby food to absorb anything left. Lacy stayed with us the entire time, it seemed like most pets stayed with their person. During our close to 2 hours there I witnessed a ton of tug on your heartstrings stuff. I watched them treat a lot of dogs for different things, someone brought in their snake. Everyone working there was calm and gentle with the pets and the people. Emergency vet isn't cheap but I am so grateful to them. Lacy is feeling fine now. We have now nicknamed that cake our 1000 dollar cake;) If your pet needs them I highly recommend!

I was dismissed and full on disrespected by Dr Katy Wilkinson. My dog can be reactive/anxious at the vet. I called before coming asking if I should give home his trazodone/gabapentin to keep him calm and they instructed me not to do so. Which I listened to. After explaining my pets symptoms and behavioral issues I also explained to the Dr how my pet does better with exams when I'm out of the room because he is very protective over me. After hearing everything DR Wilkinson determined they would want to move forward with an XRay and said he'd need to be sedated. I informed her he's had X-rays at his primary vet without sedation and an ultrasound at VEG without sedation before. But she was firm she would need it. She said she would try to examine him first with the muzzle on and go from there to determine if they could do it without sedation. Her and her helper came in the room, huddled over my anxious dog on the couch and tried to examine him in front of me. He was growling and I reminded her he does better with me out of the room. She asked me to step out, which I did and watched through the blinds. They finished in 30 seconds max. After opening the door she goes yeah we have to sedate him since he was thrashing and snapping at us during exam (this never happened I watched the entire 30 second exam). I asked her if they could try to do the X-rays without sedation and if it didn't work they could sedate him. She said she would not. I explained I don't understand why we wouldn't even try when they've been able to do it before without sedation. She said "I'm not sure how they did it at your vet if they had to pin him to the table but I'm not comfortable doing that here" (said this about 5x in the next 20 minutes) insinuating that I take my pet to a place where they abuse my dog or that I'd be okay with someone doing that to my pet when I would never do or say such a thing. It was insanely rude to be saying such a thing to a pet parent. She also repeatedly said "I refuse to put my staff in danger" which o would never ask for and assured her I care about her staff as well but don't see how they would not even attempt if it had been done before. At this point in the interaction I tried to see if my primary vet could get him in for X-RAYS,but they couldn't. I let her know we could proceed with their plan but I wasn't happy with my experience and disappointment in the staffs care today. She tried to back and forth with me about why it makes sense to examine a dog with anxiety by crowding him on a couch then tried to send me to sage veterinary. I declined and said I just want my dog to be okay and taken care of here. Then she goes fine we can try to do the X-ray without sedation but you'll have to help me because I'm not putting my staff in danger. I refused. At this point I didn't have trust that she had positive intentions or even wanted to help. They switched drs and I got dr kwon instead who was AMAZING. She actually listened, did the exam on my pup with me out of the room and said he did surprisingly well (LIKE i SAID HE WOULD IN THE BEGINNING) she agreed to do the X-rays without sedation and guess what, done in 10 minutes vet tech said he did great! Her assistant Kyle was so so helpful too! If dr Wilkinson actually tried to assist my pet instead of taking the easy way out through sedation and not insinuate I take my dog to a vet in the alley where they pin him down. I'd probably have a positive experience from the start. Trying to shame a pet parent who is asking questions or trying to save on an expensive bill when it is possible is insanity. I take care of my pup, love him dearly and the fact that a vet insinuated otherwise was so upsetting. If you do come to VEG stay away from DR Wilkinson

After doing research, Dr. Noe was reasonably priced (although that's not necessarily super important in these situations), quick to respond, professional, and compassionate. I was told there was no manager available yesterday, and when I called again today, I was once again told there was no manager available. I understand this is an emergency hospital and the doctors are busy, but when you discharge a critically ill animal who has just received a blood transfusion, there should be some way for the owner to get answers to important follow-up questions. I trusted SAGE with Goli during an extremely scary situation and spent a significant amount on her hospitalization. The lack of follow-up for a medically fragile patient is extremely frustrating and concerning.
