Dr Yamamoto is the best. I greatly appreciate all the help with my Buster who is incredibly anxious at the vet office! Astro is easy peasy and has been seen once by another who was fine with him. Buster can be intimidating to some. They were and have been incredibly helpful and accommodating time and time again including the office manager Dana. I truly have appreciated your support for my boys!

Spot and Curly our rescued guys.

Our 3+ year old pet rat, Curly was nearing end of life, and I had searched intently for a veterinarian hospital where we could take him. Muller was the only one who offered these services for a reasonable price. The morning I was supposed to bring him in, we were dealing with a death in the family...My dad kindly offered to bring Curly in for euthanasia, as my hands were tied. Dr. Miller adjusted, called to confirm all the details with me, and just went above and beyond. The care, communication, and empathy in this experience make it unforgettable. This is what veterinary practice is all about.

I can't say enough about the doctors and staff at Muller vet. We have been coming here since gizmo and barley were puppies. Gizmo was been diagnosed with intervertebral disc about 3 years ago. We found out when gizmo was in a lot of pain and he was knuckling. I rushed him to an emergency vet on Friday night. The vet told me he would need to stay until he could be seen by a neurologist on Monday and go on an anti-inflammatory and pain meds. It would have cost me $15,000 or he would need to be put to down which was my biggest nightmare. I took him home with the pain and anti-inflammatory meds. On Monday I took him to muller and Dr. Iwata examined him and came up with a treatment plan which only cost me a couple of hundred dollars. After a couple of weeks, gizmo started to bounce back and started to walk on his paws. After 3 years gizmo is fully back to normal and sees Dr. Yamamoto for monthly acupuncture. I can't thank the doctors at muller with their care and compassion.

Sprout, happy and well.

Words cannot even begin to express my gratitude for Dr. Miller and all of the techs and support staff who helped us through a really tough couple of days. My bunny, Sprout, is the love of my life. He's also an extraordinary difficult bun on the best of days. He came in for his scheduled neuter yesterday and went into cardiac arrest as he was coming out of surgery. Dr. Miller was able to pull him through with chest compressions, and while we must all understand that not every bunny is able to make it through, I am forever going to be grateful to Dr. Miller for saving his life. Again, many bunnies are not so lucky, and being the delicate creatures they are, sometimes even the world's best is not enough. After the surgery, Sprout was extremely weak and in need of an overnight stay at an emergency vet equipped to handle lagomorphs. We settled on Berkeley Dog and Cat, as Dr. Miller suggested. What blew me away (and again, certainly a one off in an emergency) was that she even offered to drive him over there in haste if we couldn't arrive soon. I am so happy that we got organized quickly enough. Dr. MIller coached us on a game plan we were happy with, ensuring that the calmest person would be driving without any distraction, and checking back in to ensure we all arrived safely. I cried many tears in the last 48 hours, and I can happily report that the majority of those tears were shed in joy. I cannot get over how caring, thoughtful, sensitive, and kind everyone is at Muller. They are so ready to turn emergency actions into a streamlined game plan to ensure the safety and well-being of our beloved animals. They really do care and completely put the animal first. Sprout may not be the last bunny who comes into my family, and I know he can't be with us forever. But thanks to Dr. Miller and team, I have been gifted more time with him. I'll never take it for granted and I will always remember.

Our special boy!

Most amazing veterinary staff and rehab center for animals. Our lab was unable to walk and not only did they give us amazing ideas of how to help him but a year later he is up and about. We only wish we had found them sooner. Our dog loves going to his acupuncture appointments. The office staff is so friendly and helpful. And a special thank you to Dr Nilssen

My feline companions also expressed discontent with the previous location. In contrast, my experience at the Walnut Creek location has been vastly different. My cats have developed a positive rapport with the staff here. Even my Kimber, who generally dislikes veterinary visits, is able to tolerate the staff. This is consistent with her personality, as she is affectionate at home and enjoys interacting with everyone, but experiences anxiety when placed in a crate and taken for a car ride, both of which she dislikes. My sweet girl fell ill and was diagnosed with kidney disease. The staff was exceptional throughout the entire experience and process of the passing of my beloved Joy. They demonstrated remarkable compassion and thoroughly explained each step. I cannot imagine navigating this difficult time without the staff's support.

Let me tell you about loyalty…read more Fourteen years. That's how long my dog Bella trusted Banfield. That's how long I trusted Banfield. And y'all fumbled her in the end. Everything was "fine" when she was young. Easy cases, routine visits, collect the check, keep it moving. But the moment Bella got old--when she actually needed real care, that's when the cracks showed. No, not cracks... the whole system collapsed. You suspected cancer of the tongue. You pushed a $300 test. I said yes because this is my dog, my family. Meanwhile, a specialist tells me that test can't even give real answers. But guess what? My money was already gone. Then you come back with, "Good news, no cancer!" Oh really? Because when I bring her back, after she sits in a crate ALL DAY, you hit me with: "Oh...the test is inconclusive." So what exactly was the good news? Because from where I'm standing, that was confusion wrapped in a bill. Fast forward. Bella is struggling. Constipated, uncomfortable, clearly declining. I call for help. And what do you recommend? Psilocybin. Yes. That psilocybin. Like I'm supposed to go pick up psychedelic mushrooms for my dying dog. I checked Target. CVS. Nothing. I call back, you double down. I go to a pharmacist, they look at me like I've lost my mind. Turns out you meant something like Metamucil. So now I'm grieving and fact-checking my vet? And let's talk about access, because every time I called, I'm sitting on hold for 20 minutes like I'm trying to win concert tickets. This is a veterinary office. Not a radio station. Now we get to the day. Bella's last day. I bring her in for a follow-up, and the front desk is asking me about dermatitis. Dermatitis? My dog is declining, and y'all are reading from the wrong script. Disorganized. Rude. Confused. No awareness of the moment. Then comes the hardest decision I've ever had to make. The vet recommends euthanasia. I say yes. And a few hours later, my 8-year-old daughter and I are saying goodbye to someone we loved for 14 years. We paid for keepsakes--her fur in vials. Something small to hold onto. They ask if we want to wait. We can't. We're shattered. We choose to have it mailed. Weeks go by. Nothing. So now, in the middle of grief, I have to chase you down. You say, "Oh, it's ready--but we can't mail it because it's breakable." So the option you gave me... was never actually an option? I go in--reluctantly--because the whole point was not having to come back. And what do I walk into? More confusion. They can't find the fur. They're looking for the card. The card isn't even in an envelope. Nothing is prepared. Nothing is handled with care. Nothing is handled with dignity. Nothing is handled like this was someone's family member. Let me tell you the difference. I canceled an appointment with Bella's ophthalmologist--a doctor who barely knew her--and told them she passed. Within a week, they sent a condolence card. They donated to University of California, Davis in her name. That's what compassion looks like. That's what professionalism looks like. Banfield? You had 14 years with Bella. And when it mattered most--you showed me exactly what that loyalty meant to you. Nothing. Banfield stinks.

This place confirmed exactly why I never wanted to return. The staff is astonishingly unprofessional. Not just indifferent, but actively dismissive and condescending. Every interaction felt like pulling teeth. Basic questions were either ignored, answered vaguely, or met with visible irritation, as though I was inconveniencing them. It was clear they didn't have the answers to such basic questions, including about the products that they sell at a crazily inflated price. There's a level of attitude here that goes beyond burnout or a bad day. It seems to be ingrained in their hiring practices. What's worse is the complete breakdown in communication. It was unclear if messages were relayed, calls weren't returned, and no one seemed remotely concerned about the urgency of the situation. I waited THREE DAYS while my cat was critically ill for a callback that never came. When I finally reached the doctor, she admitted she had received my messages and simply chose not to respond. She was 'busy'. No apology, no urgency, no accountability. Just defensiveness and indifference. The waiting experience was equally infuriating. Long, unexplained delays with zero updates, no transparency, and no sense that anyone was managing patient care in an organized or competent way. You're just left sitting there while the staff moves at their own pace with no regard for the seriousness of the situation. And then the misdiagnosis. Completely wrong! I had to rush my cat to an emergency vet (VEG ER, 2431 San Ramon Valley Blvd, San Ramon), where the contrast was immediate and stark. They treated us with respect, communicated clearly, and handled my cat with care and compassion. Everything this clinic failed to do. (I HIGHLY recommend VEG. They do an excellent job with the pets AND the owners. And they don't nickel and dime you.) When your pet's health is on the line, you need competence and compassion. not arrogance and neglect. I wouldn't trust them with a routine check-up, let alone a serious medical issue. Avoid this place at all costs.
