I did appreciate that when I called to make an appointment with ABC vet that they were able to accommodate for an appointment the same day. My cat Pepper was seen in a timely manner and a proper exam was done. I did appreciate being able to see the exam in person and be able to give feedback in real time. However, customer service has little to be desired. It was not clear if we were allowed to go into the vet clinic or needed to wait in the car due to COVID. Then when I asked if they would call me when they are ready for her, instead I get a hasty hand gesture motion from the vet tech to bring Pepper in. I also felt immediate judgment from the vet tech who was shaking her head at the condition of my kitty. The vet Dr. K, although provided good care, could also not help but pass judgment on Pepper's condition. Not only did they not initially understand that I took over her care from her previous owner but Pepper's condition was not a total result of neglect or lack of care. She ended up having FIP which is a horrible infection that has no cure and explains her weight loss, lethargy, change in behavior and eye infection. Although we received prompt care in a timely manner, the staff interaction left little to be desired and for that reason I was not a repeat client.

I needed to get my kitten neutered and the vet I used to go to wanted to charge me $400. I read that males getting neutered shouldn't cost anymore then $200. So I called ABC and spoke directly to Dr K and he said $150. My kitten did need shots as well as I wanted him chipped so my bill came to $355 and I was fine with that. I felt Dr K and his assistant were kind and took care of my baby right away. I dropped him off at 9am and picked him up at noon. I know if I took my kitten to the former vet, getting him fixed, his shots and chipped would have cost me close to a grand...not to mention he probably would have been stuck in a cage all day. Im gonna stay with ABC because they seem to care for your pet and you.

Found this Business on yelp after googling Vets in East Bay. Previous vet in SF & LA where I had excellent care there just too far but I wanted to expect the same care for my loved ones. Decided on ABC after reading all of the reviews. All of them. Visited this past Monday after my dogs tooth fell out Sunday night, sent emails out to many vets and received an email back from here and they fit me in the next morning. Very grateful for that. Very quaint little home like office. The assistant and Veterinarian were very pleasant in nature. My dog (16 yr old chihuahua) is finicky & does not like to be touched too much but felt calm around both. I assisted in holding my dog while the checked his teeth situation and shockingly my dog opened his mouth with little resistance. The vet removed 2 teeth and I picked him up 4.5 hrs later. I feel like they took good care of him, thoroughly explained his situation and the procedure. Went over pricing, which by the way was very reasonable !! No dental procedure for humans or pets is cheap so don't expect to pay a couple hundred anywhere. Obviously it will cost you a bit but comparatively speaking to vets in San Francisco and Los Angeles this vet is competitively reasonable and a wonderful Veterinarian to boot. Thank you for your care and concern towards my loved one.

They were so kind and made the whole experience (which was of course still awful + heartbreaking, but that's not their fault) as smooth and gentle as possible. We were provided blankets, allowed to hold him on our laps, and we even saw Dr. Nguyen give him a couple gentle pets each time he administered any drugs. We were already aware that everyone working at Disney really cares about each animal on an individual level, but this experience really emphasized it for us. We also were appreciative of the honesty we were given. We were told that we *could* probably keep our dog alive longer, but that his quality of life would be practically nonexistent. I can't overstate how grateful we are that no one tried to dance around it just to spare our feelings or squeeze more money out of us on treatments that weren't in his best interest. There's a reason we trust the staff at Disney so much, and it's because we truly believe they have our pets best interests in mind, above all else. We also later on received a condolence card that appeared to have a handwritten message and was signed by most, if not every staff member (there were at least 7-8 signatures). Our whole family is so, so grateful for the amazing care that Disney provided during our dog's life and even more grateful for making his last moments so peaceful for him. We're so lucky to have found such an incredible veterinary provider and are incredibly appreciative of all the wonderful people who work to make it that way.

Historically I've always seen Dr. Freeman, unless he's out. Mostly because of the reptile/small critter specialty we've needed, and the trust we've built all these years. Ive had some great experiences with Dr. Virk lately, and he's done a great job for my animals and has earned my trust too. Figaro got some antibiotics, some fluids and a dewormer. I asked if I could please purchase liquid dewormer for my other cats so I can do them all at the same time when I get home. Dr. Virk approved this, which I really appreciated. Made my life much so much easier considering it's a real MF trying to give my cats the dewormer tablets I have. A REAL MF. When the tech was returning Figaro back to me, I heard him singing "Figaro! It was a very difficult and vulnerable time for us, and every single worker was patient and compassionate. Prior to his euthanasia appointment, the doctors and vet assistants worked closely with us for weeks and ensured every test and every option was considered to determine a strong diagnosis. During this process, not ONCE did they push euthanasia.. they left it up to us to decide that which is something we appreciated very much. They reassured us that they were able to be reached via email, text and/or call to update them on Kitty's treatment at any time. They were responsive and on top of every little thing. Of course, Kitty was a 16 year old bombay and could not function like a normal cat any longer even with the extensive treatment that was prescribed to us. His health deteriorated rapidly due to his illness (hyperthyroidism) that not even the medicine could treat. We then had to make one of the hardest decisions of our lives to put him down so he can finally live a life of peace. Thank you to the health care team (Dr. Narg, Sheila, Leah, Marissa, and many more) for treating Kitty, my partner and I with so much tender care and I will never forget how comfortable you all made us feeling during this very hard transition. If you are ever considering euthanasia, or even just in need of general care for your furry friend(s), do not hesitate and come here. What used to feel like a place focused on helping animals now feels rushed, impersonal, and centered around pushing medication rather than providing thoughtful, compassionate solutions. Throughout my experience, there seemed to be very little effort to discuss alternative options or genuinely address the root of my dog's issues. Instead, the only solutions presented involved continuously prescribing more medication without much explanation or care for long-term wellbeing. What was even more frustrating was being charged a "service fee" that staff could not clearly explain when asked. If clients are expected to pay additional fees, there should at minimum be transparency and professionalism regarding what those charges are actually for. I understand veterinary medicine is difficult and clinics are busy, but compassion, communication, and honesty should still be basic standards of care. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling unheard, overcharged, and far less confident in the clinic than I once was. Stay away from this place.

I took my senior dog here to get treated for vestibular disease. He seemed to be on the mend when he became lethargic two days later. I rushed there just for a different vet to tell me I needed to euthanize him because he was "no longer himself anymore." It was clear she didn't read his chart bc he was a healthy dog before those last couple hours. In shock, I pressed for more info and she shared he had a 102 degree fever. I pleaded with her to give him fluids and treat his fever. he completely recovered until passing of old age two years later. I recently took my 4 month old rescue puppy here after he started throwing up all food and fluids. Suspecting kennel cough, they grabbed him from my car and took him to their isolation rooms. After much waiting and worry, the vet comes out and sternly tells me the puppy bit their tech and he's being reported to the county and they're worried he has rabies. I'm completely shocked and flabbergasted they didn't bother to read the vaccination records I shared or care that he's a traumatized former stray dog I've had for a week. I would have thought precautions would have been taken to either be gentle with a traumatized puppy or use a muzzle. Knowing I took him there for dehydration, they keep him alone in a kennel for nearly four hours, giving zero water because they "didn't want him to throw up." I called several times for updates and eventually had to park myself at the front desk, or it probably would have been an even longer wait. Finally I get one dropper of meds for kennel cough, get him home, and he immediately throws it up. That was the reason I took him there in the first place except now he's even more dehydrated. I desperately call and they say the doctor will call back asap. Did they call? Of course not. A second dog of mine would have died needlessly if id trusted their care. Thankfully a kind vet close to home agreed to see him after hours, gave him IV fluids, and prescribed meds for coughing and nausea. PS Sage recommended $1,100 worth of needless tests and x-rays that refused because I didn't want him there alone for four more hours with no food or water. But didn't feel the need to prescribe any meds that would help him eat or drink. If you love your dogs stay far far away from this place unless you have no other choice. I've never been so disappointed in an organization in my life.
