This will be a VERY long review, so I will help you up front - AVOID CMA's Honda of Winchester (formerly Miller Honda) DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. If you would like to know why, keep reading. We moved to Northern VA and went in search of a Honda Dealer with which to build a relationship. We had the same Honda dealer in our last location for 23 years - all with the same service advisor - through the purchase and service of 5 vehicles. I purchased my daughters cars and three Honda Odyssey's because of my trust in the dealership and the service team. Looking to stay with another family owned dealer, we opted to travel 45 minutes away to use CMA Honda of Winchester. This turned out to be a near fatal error. We took the vehicle in and it was diagnosed as needing a front half shaft - and it was on backorder. That happens - no issue. The service advisor strung my wife along for the first month with seemingly made up delivery dates. When we called our old service advisor in California, he said they have been on backorder and have no US delivery date shown. We then drove to the dealership (remember, its 45 minutes away) and asked for a loaner vehicle - which we used for the next 6 weeks while we waited for the part - again, no issue. It was when we went to pick up my wife's van that the problems started. When we started the van, there was a sound like people dropping a handful of wrenches on concrete. We immediately turned the car off, looked around the van and carefully turned it on again. Less noise now. My wife turned on the windshield wiper and the wipe pattern was wrong - yes, you read that right...the wiper blade pattern only covered half of the windshield on the drivers side. I asked my wife to get the service manager. While I waited, I noticed on an identical model year Odyssey that the wiper arms were different. Ours had been installed incorrectly (Left on right and right on left) - but wait...why was anyone messing with our wiper arms when the work was on the half shaft suspension UNDER the van?!?! Not surprisingly, nobody had any idea how that could have happened, and I was met with responses like "I've never seen anything like that happen here - are you sure they were right when you brought it in?" A mechanic came to the car, took it and corrected the wiper arms. When the service advisor returned with the van, we noticed that the windshield clips (the ones that hold the windshield in) were loose on BOTH SIDES of the windshield. When I pointed it out, the service advisor again kept telling me that "I don't know how that happened - it couldn't have happened here." I told her that I would take the van to a Safelite Windshield repair store and send them the bill. She agreed to have the GM call us the next day. As it turns out, the call the next day was an admission that they had a service person who needed to work on someones windshield, and he worked on the WRONG VEHICLE. Isn't there some sort of inventory tag on the keys and a matching tag on the vehicle so you know you have the right patient?!?!?!? My wife took the van to Safelite, where the manager stated "Who did what??? These clips aren't even in - it's a good thing you didn't hit the brakes too hard, this windshield would have come out!" He fixed it for free and suggested we never go back to CMA Honda of Winchester. Frustrated, I assumed this is where this would end - but it gets worse. Three days later, my wife and I are driving and the transmission begins to slip - and then clunk and slip - and van revs to redline as it continues to lose momentum - until it finally comes to a stop in the fast lane of an unlit highway leaving Washington DC after an evening out. A frantic call to 911 to get a police officer to assist was made, and he called us a flatbed tow truck. When the tow truck arrived, there was transmission fluid all over the ground. We had the vehicle towed to a local Honda dealer who assessed the vehicle the next morning. What they found was a bent subframe that had crimped the transmission fluid line, causing it to blow under pressure (see photos). The cost for the repairs to a bent subframe (The servicing dealer was bewildered how it could have happened without a severe impact, or how CMA Honda of Winchester didn't see it if they didn't cause it.) are an excessive spend for a 2013 Odyssey, so we were forced to donate the vehicle and purchase a new one. This vehicle was in fantastic shape when it went to CMA's Honda of Winchester. All it needed was some suspension work. It was with the dealer for 10 weeks. It was erroneously worked on and not even put back together correctly. They did an $1100 suspension repair and somehow the subframe got bent and the transmission hose crimped to the point of failure. The vehicle in which we raised a family and created memories was towed away for scrap this morning, despite everything else being in great shape. Let our story be your warning.
