Before I start this review I have to be fair to Miller and Carter and say I visited 2 days after their grand opening, there were obviously going to be bugs / issues and I'm sure these will get ironed out in due course once everyone settles in.
The place had been done up to a reasonable standard, it was all very modern which is exactly up my street I got a good look round the place because the guy who was showing us to our seat got a bit confused and led us round the entire place before finding our table.
I ordered a cocktail instead of a starter, the chateaubriand, a lettuce wedge and some mac and cheese as a side and a bottle of prosecco.
The cocktail was very nice. The prosecco a little over priced considering its average taste. The chateaubriand was served in one big lump, rather than in slices and considering it was designed to be shared seemed to me to be a rather silly idea. It was however cooked to perfection, but by the time I was given a plate to eat it from it was quiet cold. I couldn't tell you about the lettuce wedge as I didn't ever receive it.
I felt quiet sorry for the guy who was serving us he seemed stressed and overworked. My guess is lack of training and I'm sure as time goes by he'll learn on the job.
After I paid I noticed I was accidentally charged for a drink that we didn't order or receive but it was a 2 pound mocktail and I'm not that hard up that I was going to mention it.
Will definitely go back, but maybe in a few months after things have settled down. read more
