Today's visit was for a Senior family birthday celebration. This is an old pub polished up quite well. Staff were extremely courteous and really good at their job. The place has a nice ambience, although it does become a trifle warm in there.
There is quite an extensive menu covering Lunch, (2 course set ), and Main Dinner.
Several of the party had the 2 course set which had Sea Bass on creamed potatoes, samphire etc. However, portions would give you the impression that it was a Starter...!!! Grim. With the 2 course, either Starter or Dessert can be had with the main.
I, and others went for Tempura Battered Cod with fries. Tempura batter is not what I would suggest for large portions of fish....it just doesn't do it. Much to hard, I suggest. Peas so dry and hard. Fries were good.
2 courses = £10.95 or 3 courses = £13.95.
Many may like this "eaterie", and I cannot say it was awful, but for me, it wasn't good enough to make me want to visit again.
