Been coming to Millennium Games for years! I absolutely love their newer location! They have a massive assortment of games that you can't find anywhere else. Recently I came in to look at their selection of blind boxes and needohs. I was so surprised to see how many they had! My sister got me a Sonny Angel for Christmas from here and I was so excited! I found out through the Sonny Angel app that they are the only listened retailer of Sonny Angels and Smitskis so I will definitely be back again for them in the future! I have absolutely no idea how someone could rate this place less than 5 stars. It is quite literally the largest board game store in the US and as a board gamer in Rochester, I feel very lucky to have access to it year round! My boyfriend and I have a very large collection of board games (a few hundred) and so naturally we spend a lot of time here. Not only is the selection of games huge (there has only been one time when they have not had an expansion I was looking for), but the used game section is also nothing to take for granted! Board games are expensive, especially new ones. I can't tell you how many of the hundreds of games we own were snagged from the used section at a discounted price in new or like new condition. I can't speak for the RPG game nights hosted here, but people always look like they're having fun. read more

From the moment we walked in, Caleb went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless and enjoyable experience. He was not only helpful in guiding us through the store's selection, but also remarkably courteous--approaching every interaction with genuine warmth and respect. What really sets Caleb apart is his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the gaming community. Stopped in with my gamer boyfriend this past weekend since we had a gift certificate and we're looking to update our board game wall - I can't believe I had never been. Next time we visit I am making my plan to get lunch after...almost every restaurant in my bookmarks right now is nestled in this amazing plaza! Amiel's, Med Kabob, Nepali Kitchen, Taste of Japan - how did I not know these were all here?! I need to do an "eat around this plaza" tour someday very soon. ANYWAYS this review is NOT about the plaza/great food options, Megan, get WITH it. The game shop itself smells a lil moldy/musty/basement-y upon arrival, but WOW the amount of games, puzzles, comics, trinkets, and more is enough to make your jaw drop. They have a HUGE gamer party room in the back that, during the non-COVID times, is used for games and events. It is sad to see it all packed up and out of use, but I think they keep their social updated on when it will come back to life. We looked around for awhile. I was specifically looking for Guess Who (lol, I know) and alas, nowhere to be found. I know I am not the gamer of the family, but I was a bit shocked by how much of an investment a board game is. We ended up with Bananagrams, ratuki, and Joking Hazard and are super excited to play these with our fam and as a couple. There's nothing quite like a social game with family to create fun moments and make gatherings more noteworthy. I love a good game. Everything here is labelled nicely, which helped us narrow down where we were headed and what style of games there are on the market right now. Spoiler: there's SO MANY. We'll continue to shop here often as opposed to ordering from big box shops. I think they have a perfect business model for the times once were allowed to all play together in large groups again. If you can't find the game you're looking for here, then you'll likely find it nowhere else. This place is MASSIVE. There are enough dice in crates, Pokemon cards, board games, figurines, collectibles etc that if the world ended tomorrow and you were stuck here for years, you probably couldn't finish 1/10 of the store. Largest game store I've ever seen that is board games related; not so much computer/PS2 related (try game stop) but for those who are die hard board games/card games fans. The people who run this place clearly are passionate and I wouldn't be surprised if they knew how to play every game in there. It's lovely. To see such mass and such pride in one Mecca is refreshingly beautiful in 2020, when our world is heavily digitzed. I felt like I entered Big Bang Theory's world whenever they ran into the game/comic book store. They have every Catan extension game that exists. They even have a clearance section and an impressive used games section that everyone will find some treasure. It is also super soul warming to see so many die hard board gamers out and about buying their games and looking so comfortable. They also have a room in the back that pre COVID era looked like a place for you to get together with pals and play. Stop by and take in a moment of board game nerddom and even take home a game to play during this pandemic; it will truly broaden your world over cliched games like CAH/ What do you Meme (truly boring games IMO when there are some better ones out there). read more

Selection here is absolutely mind boggling. So much stuff available, I found some good board games in the used section. Came during a tournament I think so it was pretty busy. Yet staff still got me what I needed quickly and with great attitudes. read more

This is quite literally the Gaming Mecca of Hennrietta- And quite possibly all of Upstate NY. There are other great shops all with their great points and specialities, this place however- Let's just say it takes out a category and scale all it's own and runs with it like no other ever has or likely ever will. This location plays host to insanely fun regular game nights and info sessions and is professionally staffed with some of the best minds in local gaming, check out the online schedule and stop in on a rainy day/night if you've never played, it'll be worth your time, especially if you have gamer kids (young or old) in your life. If you're looking for a place near RIT, UofR or MCC to hang with fellow Gamers and want regular competition, albeit in Magic or even D&D or Star wars mini games, or just looking to find a RPG group- YUP, you guessed it, this is you're local hotspot. The games are sorted in categories like "New Releases," "Top 40," "Euro Games," "Two Player Games" and "Card Games" among others. There are displays set up throughout the store to show you the set up of various games. I liked the variety of games as well as the used game and discounted game sections. The store has a large area in the back for playing board games and tournaments. The staff was helpful in addressing my questions and helping me find different games. The only negative was related to price. As far as I could tell, the games were MSRP or maybe a little more expensive (with the exception of the used and discounted games). I really like this store, but I would save 25-30% buying games at my local game shop. Regardless, you should check this store out. read more

The new store is insane. Massive gaming room, insane wide reaching variety of products now, top sellers consistently in stock to pull in newcomers to the hobby, even wider variety of puzzles, legos, merch, they've absolutely outdone themselves. Bathrooms are clean and big now (albeit occasionally out of stock on paper towels), nice variety of snacks and drinks, it's so much more viable to spend the day here. My personal favorite however is the space for -new- products, giving as much stuff as possible the necessary display space as to prevent that shiny fresh product they maybe missed backing on a crowdfunded or an entirely different thing someone never knew they wanted but can get having seen it in person. Staff is solid as ever, special shout out to Caleb tho he's been a great consultant for finding stuff specially tailored to my interests in board gaming. This is the place to go for tabletop games in Rochester! I recently picked up the hobby and have visited this store quite a few times. It's akin to a bookstore for me - browsing and exploring is the most fun! They have a huge selection of tabletop games, card games, and accessories. There are always several tabletop game demonstration tables as well so you can interact with new/popular games before buying. They also have a large selection of disc golf equipment if you're into that sort of thing. There's a used game section as well, which often contains some hidden treasures. If by chance you don't find what you're looking for, you can always let the staff there know and they can notify you when it is available. I will keep coming back to this store - everything about it is fun! P.S. They have a great rewards program as well - when you collect a certain number of points you can earn $10 off your next order. I've earned the discount twice over a span of 3 visits, so I'd say it's definitely a sweet deal! read more

I was a regular customer here for years, until tonight. Millennium (specifically an employee named Toby, asian guy, longer hair in bun) tried to scam me and a friend of mine tonight. We bought maybe $35-40 in Magic singles and he charged us $135 for it. When we realized and came back he got defensive and claimed they have a "20% markup" because they're a local business. Besides my family, I say my favorite thing about going home to Rochester is Wegmans. Millenium Games is now a high #2 on that list. Holy moly - I went in twice on my short trip home at Christmas and was totally impressed. It was busy being December 23 - and the staff was great. The space is huge. They had several high top tables set up with the games out so you could take a look at them up close. One of the staff was floating the floor asking people what they were looking for and making recommendations) in a very insightful way. "What kind of games do you like? Who will you play with (ages)? If you like this game, this other game will be a lot of fun for you?..." This is exactly the kind of conversation that a good game shop should be having with their customers. Nerds in game spaces sometimes can feel intimidating and gatekeep those out of the hobby. We are collectors and like weird deep dives into details that can seem like a constant one-upping of another that is exhausting. Being an ambassador to games instead of a gatekeeper is better for everyone. They have an amazing variety - dice (the shiny glittery math rocks for dice goblins like me); games for parties, kids, the obscure; a really great indie TTRPG section; puzzles -- and frisbee golf. Games outside are called sports -- but I let it slide. They had a huge table space for games - and I lament that I was not home long enough to take part in an event there. So, my routine when I go home is now - hug mom and dad, go to Wegmans and then Millenium Games. read more

Just an awesome store. Tons and tons of board games to choose from. Figures, dice, sleeves, card boxes, binders, and anything else you may need. Lots of trading cards as well, both singles and packs. A used board game corner, all in great condition for a fraction of the cost. A Lego section and a large disc golf section as well. $10 to play board games is awful. I wish this wasn't the only store in the area as other cities have much more consumer friendly businesses. It's crazy to see more than 10 employees at a time in this giant space and no one playing games because it's only worth it on special occasions. read more

4.5/5 This is what I believe to be the biggest "nerd" & "geek" zone in Rochester, in terms of size and what goes on inside. Just walking into it makes me excited in all sorts of ways. The rows upon rows of tabletop games are nearly endless. For those wanting a LAN party, there's a computer room with a bunch of PC's, probably about 25 or so? Maybe a couple extra. All preloaded with the more common games. To the back left is a MASSIVE room filled with tons of big pop-up plastic tables used for tabletop gaming, card game tourny's, and other fantastic forms of nerding out. The staff is pretty friendly, and they'll help you find just about anything. Not sure of a specific game to get, just a genre? Tell them what you and your friends DO like, and what style of game you'd like, they'll definitely point you in the right direction. This is a place I come frequently to use the back room for card gaming and medium sized get togethers. They also host events FREQUENTLY, so make sure before scheduling something with your friends, you check their calender. They have a fridge and snacks there, so you don't need to leave, but if you want something more filling, there's a ton of restaurants, and sandwich shops within walking distance. One word of advice, when in the parking lot drive slow and actually pay attention to the surface, there are lots of potholes, some fairly deep that could bottom-out smaller vehicles, both in the parking lot and the side road connecting it to the other side of the plaza (where mighty taco and GC are). If it looks deep, it probably is, and hitting it is a horrible idea. read more

I've always been a nerd. Whether it was MTG when I was a kid, dorky movies as a teenager, and most recently, a board game obsession, finding a place where you can truly embrace the things you like is a wonderful thing. I first heard about Millennium Games because of International Tabletop Day, which is held in April. They were running some promotions for it, which I thought was cool. They have a nice website with an up to date calendar, which is great for visitors like myself. I was finally able to pay a visit about 3 months ago. Upon entering, I had to pick my jaw up from the floor. This is a legit hobby store. Board games I had only read about online - on the shelf. Magic the Gathering cards and players -everywhere in the store. Game demos - sure, on some tables in the store. Everything you'd need for geeking out can be found at this game store. Pricing is pretty standard for what you'll find at a game shop - about 10-20 dollars more for games than you'll find on Amazon. However, you're supporting these stores and the play space they offer when paying that little bit extra. Game nights for non-MTG players just wouldn't be the same without places like this. While this isn't quite a review, perhaps more of a story/description, I can happily give Millennium Games 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who wants to fulfill their nerdiest desires. read more

Hands down the best game store I have ever been too. We drove there this weekend from Syracuse and wow! If you are looking for a game, I would guess they have it. So impressed with their stock! The prices on some are low and some just a little high but overall I do not mind paying when the selection is right there and so solid. Was very impressed on the amount of expansions that they offer, that isn't common at the stores I frequent. The staff was very helpful and super knowledgeable. Chance helped us throughout our time there and really helped us pick games that we would enjoy. His customer service was top notch. Cannot wait to come back! read more

Nothing but good experiences here. I mainly come here for Pokémon tcg stuff, but they have great selection for many physical games. Singles prices are sometimes inconsistent, but generally the pricing is pretty fair. Some shops do tend to having prices far above msrp with Pokémon, but millennium games is reasonable. read more

My FLGS isn't very F, and honestly not as much G as they want to be. I won't name names. But to give you an idea of Millennium, we sometimes drive out from Buffalo to shop here. Like, oh, new gaming stuff came out? Well, we could drive three minutes from our house, or we could go on a road trip to another city. Let's see, three minutes from home? Another city? We'll take the other city. They actually have a decent selection of current game books. For example, my local store "forgot" to order Titansgrave even though I'd been asking for six months before its release to make sure to at least get in a copy. Millennium had it stocked. Like, I walked in and it was hanging out on the new release shelf, just waiting for me. They carry an assortment of FATE stuff, Iron Kingdoms, Shadowrun 5e books and other new games that aren't all just from WotC or Paizo. So okay, it's a little out of the way for me and mine, but I'd rather drive a while and support brick and mortar stores than have to rely on Amazon for any RPG that isn't Pathfinder or D&D. The only reason that this is not a 5 star review is because of the bathroom situation. They have a gender neutral restroom and then they have a women's and staff only bathroom. That's kind of creepy, and I don't think they thought that one through. read more

Millennium is a great store. The owners, Travis and Rob are great guys and always helpful. The employees are well-versed and go the extra mile to help. There is a great selection of euros and card games. My only disappointment is that the wargaming section is almost dead, but I understand that a store needs to stock what sells! The gaming space in the back is fantastic. My group, "RochGamers" uses it formally the 3rd Saturday of each month and many members use it informally throughout the month. Very generous of the store to offer this space. If you're looking for games to buy or play in the Rochester area, Millennium should be your first stop. read more

This place is VERY friendly in my opinion. When I was there, the staffs kept asking me if I need any help and was very enthusiastic when I did ask for help. They have a huge room in the back for events and it was very busy today. They also sell chips and drink but it's kinda over price. My favorite is the ever changing 5 different games on demo that I really appreciated because that's how I tried and discovered new games that I have never heard of before. They have a used board games section and a sale section that include comics also. However, the only reason why it's not 5 stars because the games here are overprice. Most of the games here are price at MSRP but some are way over. For examples, burgle bros is 36.99 MSRP and it's 50 DOLLARS in store. Like jeez even if I have it ship to my place, it's way cheaper than that. But otherwise, great little place with very impressive collection and layout.
