I tried buying a 2014 Ford Focus SE with 73,000 miles and received the worst service I have ever experienced at a dealership. First off, they work under the table with a woman named "Karla" who apparently is a former employee at the dealership, but she now works for a financing agency that they are associated with. She can apparently go into the loan system and approve people for loans even if the system has already denied them (my sales person said, and I quote, "we throw her some money under the table and she's able to get the job done for us."). That was my first red flag regarding this entire deal. Secondly, my sales person kept giving me the run around for 5 days before we were able to discuss an actual deal. He told me that I was approved for a loan even though I was previously denied (hint hint: Karla). So I go into the dealership and I test drive the car I was interested in. To my disappointment, there were many issues with the car from the start. The breaks made noises and his excuse was that "breaks usually make noises like that if they aren't the original breaks" um... what? After the test drive we head back into the dealership to continue discussing our deal. I ask if there were any other cars that I could look at and consider and he tells me no, that the bank only approved me for that one specific car (second red flag). I have never heard of such a thing in my life, especially since the other cars I wanted to look at were no more than $100 more than the car they were trying to sell me. Anyway, I decide that if that was the case, the car would be good enough for me just as long as they fixed the issues that I noticed with it. He agreed and said that wouldn't be a problem. He then leaves the office to go "discuss with his managers" but does not come back for at least 30 minutes. His financing manager then comes in and tells me that my monthly payments would be $350/mo for 42 months (keep in mind that the first thing I told my sales person on the very first day I tried purchasing a car was that I did not want to pay anything more than $300/mo). He also told me that if the bank contacted me to tell them that I put a $1,000 down payment when in reality I put $0 down (red flag #3). I decided that this was out of my budget. Especially after doing the calculations, I noticed I would be paying for more than half the total price of the car within the first year. I then leave (mind you my sales person has not been in the room this entire time) and as I'm about to walk out of the door I see my sales person sitting at the general managers desk, when he sees me he asked "what happened?" and before I even got to respond I see his general manager signaling him to stop talking and to just let me leave, that automatically pissed me off because I did nothing to receive such service. I didn't say anything, just kept walking out the door and I then see the financing manager that I previously spoke with. He also asks what happened and as I'm explaining that it was just out of my budget, their rude ass general manager gets up, knocks on the window, and signals him to stop talking to us and let us leave, tell me what kind of service is that! I continue walking to my car that was parked right outside with the people that accompanied me and the general manager had the audacity to walk up to my car and say "Hello I'm the general manager, I can not sell you the car." Now what was the purpose of that??? If I could give this dealership 0 stars, I would. read more
