This place is the place to buy a car! Derek and Gus are the greatest team! They have both been in the car business for a long time and they have figured out a perfect business model, great product and no haggle selling. The cars are great quality and fairly priced. Everything is on the up and up. Don't believe me? Go check them out for yourself. Totally transparent and just nice guys. I recently needed to replace my daughters' car after it was declared a total loss from an accident. Normally, I use CarMax or TruCar's web site to narrow down my selection and find myself in the far western suburbs of Chicago shopping from dealer to dealer. I normally stay away from local non-manufacturer dealers mostly because I'm leery of the quality of the cars but when I looked up CAW they had a 5 star rating on Google so I thought I'd give them a shot since they were within a couple of miles of my home. We arrived outside a fairly non-descript warehouse. We entered a nicely decorated office/lobby area and were met by Alex, Derek's assistant. She was friendly and extremely helpful explaining not only the history of the cars but also the history of Derek's company. We'd seen he had a 2010 Honda Civic (66K miles) in stock that was a perfect replacement for the 2007 Civic we'd just lost. We gave a deposit and applied for financing which Derek was able to secure through a credit union (and received a better rate). When we came in to finalize the paperwork and pick up the car we saw a newer model (2013 w/14K miles). Derek was willing to work with us and make the change for us on the spot. Of course the price increased but the value and deal couldn't be beat! After about 30 minutes of paperwork our daughters drove away with a beautiful newer model car and we were happy with the purchase. Until Derek and Chicago Auto Warehouse, I hated the entire car buying experience. I am a huge car fan, but going through the typical dealership experience was always one of the most stressful and frustrating processes. But with Derek, I finally realized how buying a car should have been done all along. You find the right dealer to buy from (CAW/Derek) and then everything goes so much better. I sent an email to Derek at CAW initially telling him that I found him on Yelp and was very impressed by his stellar reviews, which I had never seen before for any car dealer. He called me back and we started talking through what we were looking for. We went to his dealership the following weekend to talk to him and get a sense for how working with him would be. He is such an easy person to work with, he is honest and transparent, and he wants to help make you happy, and will help you figure out what it is that you want. We started thinking we wanted another SUV, but what we ultimately realized after talking with him was that we did not need an SUV. So we started looking at sedans, and once I old him what we were looking for, he was able to pull an amazing deal together for us. He never pressured us or rushed us, he fixed the front bumper on the car for free even with the great price we had already, and we were able to finalize everything once we were ready in 30 minutes. I can't possibly say enough about this place and my experience. I bought a Tesla from them after shopping the car nationwide for more than a year. I finally found a car that had all the criteria I was looking for. Derek promised me from the outset that he'd make the deal work. He was attentive to every detail, knew his stuff inside and out, and bent over backwards to make the deal work. So the whole "sale" part of the equation went great and without a hitch. But it's what happened AFTER the sale prompted me to give this place five stars (if there were more, I'd give it more!). There was a mechanical issue with my vehicle that I discovered a few days after the sale. I called Derek and explained it to him and he promised me that he was going to do whatever it took to make it right. He stayed in constant communication with me (dozens and dozens of texts and phone calls!) and went above and beyond to help me through the process. A great place to do business! Every one of the vehicles of Chicago Auto Warehouse are stored inside. It is crowded but they will get any vehicle out for you to test drive. What I learned while there is that upon arrival each vehicle is detailed, the oil & oil filter, air and cabin filters are changed. We came in looking to sell our car, and before they said anything about how much they would pay for our car, they talked about the approaches we could take to maximize the value we got for the it (list it on an app/ craigslist). Then they were super transparent about what they would pay for it, the amount of money they would have to put into it to fix it up, and what they could sell it for. And that all checked out against information we had heard/ received from elsewhere. So you definitely get the sense that they are just doing honest business and not taking advantage of you.
