They strike the perfect balance between professional and personable, and they clearly care about patient comfort. I have a sensitivity to the sound of the water pick when they're cleaning my back teeth (for me it's basically nails on a chalkboard), and without hesitation they offer ear plugs. That small act of empathy goes a long way and makes a huge difference. I've also had a couple of fillings done over the past year. I won't pretend I enjoy needles, numbing, or drilling--because who does?--but the team kept me calm, didn't overwhelm me, and made sure I stayed as comfortable as possible throughout the process. First time i went there was given another appointment in three days. They called to cancel because dentist was sick. Coincidently, so was I. Ended up hospitalized at mayo for 32 days. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed by the very pleasant office staff. As a new patient, I required x-rays and evaluation. I cannot say enough good things about the care I received. Amy, the dental technician, immediately put me at ease and completed my exam and x-rays. She took her time and answered all of my questions. The cleaning was the best I have ever had and best of all, it was painless. I was worried because I had previously had some sensitivity on my front teeth from using whitening strips. She told me everything she was going to do before she did it and Dr. Patel was ready with a numbing injection in case the sensitivity was still there. Just an update on my last review 11 months ago! 5 months after my office visit, I was up north and went to my previous dentist for a cleaning, after my cleaning, I asked how it went, did I have any problems and did I have any gum disease? Was told that I only had a little more tartar on my upper left quadrant, no gum disease, paid $130 for the visit! Wow.... Mill creek wanted to charge $1991 for a " deep cleaning " Now fast forward to November 2024, I came back to our home in St Augustine, and found a dentist down here, has his own practice, not like mill creek's corporate dental office! And funny thing, had a cleaning by the dentist, they told me dental office has a policy of the dentist doing a new customers cleaning on the 1st visit! Lo and behold, I asked the same questions, how was the cleaning, do I have any gum disease? Funny thing, answers were the same as my dentist in NY, no gum disease teeth are healthy! So moral of the story, watch out for mill creek dental, I would never recommend!! Only gave 1 star, because I couldn't do ZERO. read more

I have been going to this dentist office for approximately 10 years now. I had never questioned their services and billing in the past, until this week. They are currently doing a crown on a front tooth of mines. I originally went in for an appt with tooth pain. They assessed the tooth and told me it was infected and needed a root canal. They referred me out to another office to perform the root canal. That was completed and I went back for the crown. This week they placed a temp crown. They told me the crown would not be covered with insurance, "since it is a FRONT tooth". They wanted me to pay the full $1277 up front, saying they would still submit to insurance, "just in case". I ended up telling them I'd pay HALF (over $600) out of pocket, and they told me I'd owe the rest (over $600) at the appt for the permanent crown when it comes in 3 weeks. I'm now kicking myself, because i went by what they told me, which I should have confirmed with my insurance first hand. My insurance company said they absolutely cover the crown, 80%. That means i would only owe around $200-something out of pocket. This was after i gave them my out of pocket money already. I called them to tell them this, was transferred to billing dept, which never called me back. I went back to them the same day (they are up the street from my home), and explained the insurance coverage to them. They did NOT give me money back. I even called again when i got home, because I again called my insurance to confirm, because they kept repeating "insurances usually don't cover a front tooth crown". That was their continued excuse. I told them, "if you all have to submit to insurance still, why are you having people pay the FULL amount out of pocket"!? After complaining and saying this to them, they now say I won't be charged the remainder for my next visit. But! They still owe me over $300. I feel they are scamming or double dipping. I'm appalled now reading other reviews that are similar. I will be getting my money, and then finding another dentist moving forward for care. read more

I give mill creek zero stars! just moved to Florida and needed a new dentist, I have no insurance and pay cash. Went in for the new patient special of $99 for X-rays and cleaning! hygienist took X-rays and probed my teeth and I asked when are you going to start my cleaning, she said doctor has to come in first, I said to her, usually you do the cleaning, then the doctor looks at everything. So the doctor comes in and says everything looks good, you may want to take out this filling and replace it so we can close the gap, so no food can get in bet your teeth, but said you can do that anytime if you want to or not do it at all, and you need a deep cleaning. He goes and I ask again can we start the cleaning, the hygienist says well the $99 does not cover a deep cleaning and I have to ask the billing girl what the cost is, I ask what is a deep cleaning, she states that you have Tatar under the gum line, but I say most plaque/tartar is under the gum line and all my cleanings in the past were deep cleaning, meaning cleaning, scraping under the gum line...so billing girl comes in with the plan from the hygienist, not the doctor, the hygienist and I figured what can they charge, another $50 or $100 bucks, I will suck it up and pay because I am there and it's been over an hour, the girl pulls out a breakdown of $1991 for the deep cleaning!! WTF.....they wanted to charge me for antibiotics to rub on my teeth 7 times for $400, when I complained she said, well you don't need to take that, we can save you $400 again WTF...if I don't need it don't charge me! Needless to say, don't go unless you want to get up charged!! I'm 66 years old and never had this experience with my dentist in the past, I will be looking for a dentist in private practice and not a corporate practice where money comes first! I would give them less if possible. The rudest office I have ever dealt with in my entire life. It took 5 months just to get an appointment, in which I gave them all my insurance information at that time. The day before my appointment they contact me telling me that my insurance is inactive, so I contact my insurance provider and they assure me that it is active and sent me an email with a benefits summary showing I am active. After calling the office back to straighten out their mistake, they tell me they would have to hear it from the insurance company themselves or the website. While this was going on, the front desk associate thought it was appropriate to make jokes. I then asked to speak to a manager or anyone that was more mature then the person I was currently talking to. Once on the phone with a manager, I was told to find a different provider since I was not fond of the front office staff treated my situation(which btw was caused by them). I am extremely disappointed and upset with how Mill Creek Dental and their staff handled my families scheduling. I called 5 months ago and spent over an hour on the phone scheduling appointments for myself, my husband and two children. The appointment was made with Jacob. I provided all of our information and insurance upfront when scheduling. Our appointments were for this week, both of my children's appointments were today. Last week when they called to verify our appointments I again provided our insurance information. I arrived for our appointments this morning and was told that our insurance was considered not in network for their facility and we would have to pay out of pocket. I have now wasted 5 months waiting for the appointments, taking off work and shuffling my children to the office to be turned away. At no point did Mill Creek or their staff advise that they were not in network with our insurance, instead the assured me at the time of making the appointment they accepted our plan. The receptionist at the offices only response was that "they would make a note in our file to call us in advance next time". There will not be a next time and I will be sure to never recommend this facility to anyone. read more

I have been going here for over a year and I feel like my experience with this place has gotten worse each time I have come in. First off, I had come in for an emergency appointment to get a tooth looked at and the dentist was very eager to take out my wisdom teeth (totally disregarding my tooth pain I came in for). He told me that they would use gas during the tooth extraction. I told them I'd be back in a couple days to prepare for the wisdom teeth removal and a crown. When I came back, I waited an hour in the chair before even being worked on. I told the dentist who was working on me that day that I was offered gas for the teeth extractions and I was getting a crown. He told me none of that was in my chart and he had to look into it. He also told me he wanted to remove both wisdom teeth by just numbing me with Novocain. I don't know ANYONE who is getting their wisdom teeth PULLED with just Novocain. Even with the gas, I could feel and hear him ripping out both of my teeth. It was very scary for me I wish I went under and somewhere else because no one should be awake for that. I had to return to get my permanent crown on three weeks later. I was with a new dentist and she was SOOOO sick. I could hear her breathing out of her mouth because of how congested she was and her nose was running. Since we are attempting to get over a worldwide pandemic, stay home when you are so sick. Made me so uncomfortable that she was super ill and had her hands in my mouth and was so close to me. While this was all happening she was trying to fit my crown to my tooth and kept dropping it in the back of my mouth. She also had no idea what she was doing. She kept getting up and asking someone for help for everything. When they finally got it to fit, it didn't!!! So they have to send the crown back to the lab and have me come back in another three weeks to put the permanent back on. I am so tired of coming to this dentist when I am waiting in the chair longer than they are working on me teeth. There's a huge lack of communication between the staff. They have no self awareness of patients time either because you will have an hour appointment and end up being there for 3+ hours. It took weeks for me to get an "emergency appointment" for a tooth ache and then the day of my appointment they call to tell me they are closing early! I reschedule for the following week, pack up my two babies and drive down to the office for the receptionist to call me literally on the minute of my appointment time to tell me they are going to have to reschedule me! so rude! Came in because closest place I could find where it stated emergency dental services. Hours posted 8-5. It's a Friday. Pulled on the entrance door and was locked. Called the office number they have and someone answered. I said I think I may be using the wrong entrance. She reiterated the office hours and said that they were in meetings, and asked if there was anything she could help me with. I said well your site states you guys are open and provide emergency services and I have a really bad toothache. She said that they are in meetings all day and won't be back until Monday. My suggestion- post a flippin' sign or something. No cars in parking lot and no souls on site. False information on your website has caused me more aggravation on top of a tooth ache. Bad business. If you are looking for a permanent dentist office, this is it. If you have an emergency need, this place is it. I did not have dental insurance as young child until early adulthood. I went to another dentist office in the area before I came here and they found a PLETHORA of cavities plus other issues in my mouth. The place I went to insisted I needed to remove my two wisdom teeth that were causing me no pain or issues. The quoted me around $7,000 (with insurance) to fix everything. A friend recommended Mill Creek, and man, was I blown away. They quoted me around $2,500 for the same work, I ended up paying less. They helped me out by filling 2-4 cavities in the same area at the same time. The dentist once found a cavity not on the X-ray and he filled it for free, knowing my struggle! They placed my crown and went above and beyond to make sure it was a perfect fit. They did not pressure me into removing my wisdom teeth, they actually told me I was good to keep them since I was pain free with good X-rays. All the staff here is just incredible, beyond caring and knowledgeable. This office makes going to the dentist enjoyable read more

This is the worst dental office I have ever had to deal with. The front desk staff is very rude. The so called "office manager" or "billing coordinator" Annette, whatever her role, she is the rudest of them all. I have a spent over a year trying to get my billing issues, that they made, corrected. Annette promised me she would send me all the bills, that were sent to the incortect address, to me by mail and email, we confirmed my address and email...i never recieved anything, I called once more requesting bills, treatment plans, everything they had on file for me...still received nothing. My insurance paid them and sent the check to their office and for whatever reason they sent the check back to the insurance company and never posted the payment to my account, then proceeded to submit it to a secondary insurance that i told them i was cancelling and NOT to send it to. So they then sent my account to collections and added on some $100 fee for sending it to the collections department. So I now have $500 in collections, when it should only be $400 from the visit that they did incorrectly. They have made no attempts to resolve the issue and I have called multiple times talking to this Annette lady that doesnt help and doesnt care to help resolve my issue. This is THEIR mistake and I am now paying for it on my credit. I finally had to call their corporate office today to have someone higher up take a look into all this!! I work in a dental office down the road from them and im not sure where they got their training from, but we NEVER have such prolonged issues like this and everyone is very friendly and helps resolve issues in a timely, friendly manner. Dr. A. Anton is, in a word, incompetent. After terrible experiences at Elite Smiles (see my review) I needed to find another dentist. I went to Mill Creek Dental Care where I encountered the very polite "Dr." Anton who's go to conversation primarily consisted of "I'm sorry" and "thank you." I needed to have a crown made which is a pretty straightforward procedure; one I've had done many times before. That visit, which I put off due to the COVID epidemic occurred in early June when things were, and remain still very iffy regarding the virus. I was assured that procedures surpassed recommended safeguards. That may have been true on that first visit, but was certainly not on subsequent visits. That first visit found me in the chair for an hour and a half during which I received a large painful blister on the inside of my lower lip near the tooth being worked on. Also developed a black and blue mark on my chin...very visible. During that memorable visit Anton's assistant dropped an impression on the floor, rinsed it off and later asked me to put it back in my mouth. I was VERY eager to have that visit completed. Unfortunately, his assistant totally skipped The part where the shade of the permanent crown is selected. Perhaps he forgot... I, not knowing any better simply left and awaited my next appointment when the crown would be placed. So there I was two weeks later. I was handed a mirror to see I I liked the new crown. IT WAS AS WHITE AS A CHICKLET! I was stunned. After many "I'm sorry's" from "Dr."Anton I was assured he would take care of everything to make it right. Of course this required another visit which I was loath to make because I have several co-morbidities that make me susceptible to the virus. After selecting a shade that matched adjoining teeth, a second temporary was placed. That one lasted three days before I accidentally swallowed it with a bite of salmon. Fortunately the "new" crown arrived quickly. Once again I sat in Anton's chair, eager to get this whole sorry affair done with. Not so simple! The second permanent crown had a distinctly, obvious yellow coloration that in no way matched adjoining teeth. There was many more "I'm sorry's" and "thank you's" for your patience... At this point, as miffed as I was, there was nothing I could do but see this thru. A third temporary crown was placed yesterday (June 15th). This one lasted less then 24 hours before coming out while eating a banana just a few minutes ago. Despite repeatedly being told to call the office if anything went wrong, it would serve no practical purpose for me, and just another opportunity to hear more "I'm sorry's." If you like false friendly but wholly incompetent, slipshod dental care try Mill Creek Dental or their predecessor, Elite Smiles. These are factory-like practices which are in no way less costly. read more

The people are warm and friendly, the technology is state-of-the-art, the decor is lovely, and the location is very convenient if you live in or around World Golf Village. They're also open until 7 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is handy if you work late. They're new in town but are pretty busy already. One of the nicest aspects of my visit was their emphasis on patient education. We've had a litany of small annoyances that have detracted from our experience here - billing issues which were finally resolved (every time I came there they would say my wife had an outstanding bill which turned out to be bogus, had to call my dental insurance about percentages and found out we were being overcharged, etc) - booked a cleaning, was told to come back another time after I showed up for my appt so I had to take another day off work to get my teeth cleaned. Our old dentist insisted on us calling him for any oral health advice for us and our kids, including my sleep apnea, so when we tried calling this place asking for advice for a cankersore our daughter had, they failed to return our calls ... twice. Not impressed. Tech was modern and they used the good fluoride (the nasty stuff they need to paint on) so that was good, but was disappointed that they weren't as responsive/responsible as our old dentist. read more
