First off... I was very excited to try this place. Had good reviews and was looking for a sweet treat and to grab a matcha + a place to sit and journal. There was a ton of tables to sit and relax at which I always enjoy. I ordered a Nutella cronut and a regular iced matcha. The cronut was delicious! Perfect amount of sweet. I will say it would have been nice to offer to warm it up but it was still yummy. Then, the lady working the counter called out my iced matcha and I immediately knew just from looking at this drink that it's not matcha. I sat and took two sips from it and it was straight up sugary milk... not a single ounce of matcha was put into this drink. It was almost $7 for this drink by the way. I'm not sure why they would hand this to me or why they call this matcha but that was a joke... I finished my cronut and then went to her for a refund on the drink. Holy moly the Twix cookie was so good. I can't wait to go back and try other stuff the display was amazing and I could've gotten all of it! Food: While the ice cream isn't homemade, (it's from Tillamook Creamery) the flavors and the smooth perfection of a honestly great ice cream make it clear why this local gem chose the creamery's offerings. For me, it does feel a bit like home, since that is the ice cream of my childhood, having grown up in the Pacific Northwest. This return to home seems like it is a theme that Milkfloat leans into. From their subtle nods to local talent and tradition from the art displayed in the walls to the ingredients featured in their offerings, it is clear that they take themselves and their hometown as seriously as I do mine. Service: The folks behind the counter were both lovely to chat with and knowledgeable. The easy conversation made the whole experience better, almost the way that one might imagine a bartender with a willing ear to be from tales of old, but this place was for real. Ambiance: I literally cannot tell you how pleasant the vibes were. I walked in and several folks were playing a game a table near the entrance. Their casual demeanor made it feel like I was walking into a friend's living room (in the best way). To my surprise, I ended up eating it all and ordering one to go. * Eggnog - It is a good balance of sweet and savory. I loved you could actually taste the spices. The crust was a mix between crisp and flaky yet delicious. * The Strawberry Poptart and Oreo were both pretty sweet, get milk or water to go with it you'll need it. The presentation is consistently good and the inside is always clean. I love the industrial contemporary, from the brick style walls, overhead pipes to lantern type lights. They have a boardroom style table perfect for small meetings and group gathering, it was in use on both of my visits. It a very chill and relaxing vibes inside. I enjoy the atmosphere and the set up with big long tables up front, medium/small tables in the middle, a window to see their kitchen in the back kind of near the Lego area, and nice staff My only complaint is that when they rotate their treats out, I can't share them with a friend, nor do I know when that particular treat will be back. But maybe that adds to the fun of trying to discover something new knowing it might not be there next time? I suggested she try a pastry instead there came the huge problem! How were we to figure out what we wanted,it all looked sooo good! After deliberating for a while I suggested she try an ice cream sandwich. I wasn't thinking they would put so much ice cream in it. So we split a chocolate chip cookie with vanilla bean ice cream sandwich and got a brownie to take back to my dad at the hospital. I'm not a huge fan of most typical chocolate chip cookies they are typically overly sweet. These however are not your typical chocolate chip cookies they have just a hint of different spices in them. The cookies paired well with the vanilla bean ice cream. As for the brownie I assume it was good my dad gobbled it up really quick. I rather give my money to a local shop than a chain. The only issue I had is it says no public restrooms. Where we are from that means customers can't use them either. Milkfloat is an amazing bakery/coffee shop in the heart of the historic Delano district of Wichita. I witnessed dessert amazingness being assembled in the kitchen, but sadly I was only here for breakfast and coffee, so I didn't get to experience the sugary wizardry being made for later enjoyment. What I did get to experience was made-from-scratch biscuits! Crumbly, fresh, incredible comfort food - the humble biscuit was elevated to an art form here. The sausage biscuits and gravy were so good on the first visit, that I had to come back to experience the breakfast sandwich the next day. On both visits, I had an Onyx Columbian pour over that was exquisite. Nice, full-bodied, without being bitter. Overall, the experience was awesome. The barista was kind and helpful, talkative, but not overbearing. I complimented the cook on the incredible biscuits and he was humble and appreciative. If I lived in Wichita, this place would be a regular stop, which could be dangerous to my waistline with their scrumptious food, wonderful coffee, and decadent desserts. We visited this place two nights in a row, because the service and desserts were just fantastic the first day! The girl there was excited to answer questions and we ordered the chocolate cheesecake, lavender lemon cookie, and a small vanilla frozen custard. I was thoroughly impressed with the aromatic Lavender Cookie, which was just balanced with the lavender pieces. The salt really brought out the sweetness in the cookie! The Chocolate Cheesecake was smooth in texture, with a chocolate cookie base and a delectable ganache topping. It paired great with the vanilla frozen custard to give you a break from the chocolate coma. However, the second night 6/28, a girl working there had such a nasty attitude towards my cousin. It was really disappointing to see her come in with a smile, excited to get some pop-tarts, and being met with a very rude girl worker with long curly hair and a disinterested look on her face. It was a huge turn-around from the day before, as she answered our questions with hostility, dropped our plate down on the counter, and slammed the pasty door shut. This downtown-ish coffee shop is in a great little side street building with beautiful front windows. You order at the counter where you will be quickly tempted by all kinds of sweet bakery treats and ice cream. We did not make it to the cashier before we were ordering both the oatmeal cream pie and the Nutella Cruffin. Because we went later in the evening (and we may or may not be a little bit older) I had to order a hot tea instead of a coffee you so that I could actually get a good nights sleep LOL. They have several different varieties of tea so I settled on a berry and my friend chose mint. Service was fast and easy and everything was delicious. There is tons of seating inside and everything it's very well spaced out. Hopefully next time i am in town I can come in and try some of the coffee....Or maybe some of that ice cream. read more

If you want the world's friendliest staff, great coffee, and an amazing rotating selection of desserts, Milkfloat is the place to go. My personal favorite is an iced honeycomb latte with a pistachio chocolate cruffin for dessert. If you ever want a great pie for a holiday, their brownie misu is fantastic as well although you really couldn't go wrong with anything on their menu. This is actually in the old Nichols motorcycle shop building which was very cool. They make all of their baked goods and ice cream cones in house. I had one of their chocolate crinkle cookies which was so good. Almost as good as ones my Mom use to make. The ice cream is homemade as well but it is all soft serve. My daughter had the chocolate in a waffle cone which she said was the best ever. My husband had the vanilla and it was very good but melted too fast since it was soft serve.
