Fresh mango tea with passion fruit jelly
    Vanessa N.

One of the things that makes this boba shop different from the others is that the fruit teas are blended drinks. I got the fresh mango tea with passion fruit jelly (0% sugar). While I did like my drink, I think I prefer the traditional non blended versions of fruit teas with fresh fruit chunks.

Fresh fruit teas is hard to come by and so when Milk Cha-Cha popped up on the list of places to try in Charlotte and so we went as a date. Note that when it's fresh fruit, it's not quite what you think. I thought it was going to be fresh fruit in the tea, but it was more like a slushy? I do like the fact that the fruit was fresh, but I wished it was more of just tea and then fruit instead of it mixed in. Service was great as we were explained what type of tea, but I guess the only thing that wasn't mentioned was that it was blended rather than just tea itself. I enjoyed the interior decor. It was simple. If you're looking for parking, you can park on the street or the parking garage. There's spaces for retail parking, but it is used for those who live there. There were plenty of spaces when I went.

Discover the story of Milk Cha-Cha, where two 'boba-addict' friends turned their passion into a delightful reality. Founded in 2020, they embarked on a journey to bring the freshest and most creative boba experience to their customers. From fresh fruits to premium loose leaf teas, freshness and flavor are their hallmarks. What's more, Milk Cha-Cha is all-inclusive! Great location. Cozy and quaint. Cute little sitting area outside. Inside was cute and great for pictures. The service was good. The lady was nice and gave recommendations on favorites. I tried the Mango tea with plain Boba. It was just ok. The Mango was bland and tasted like pureed baby food. They blend the Mango to a puree and you don't taste any chunks or peices of Mango at all. I would go back, but I'd definitely try a different option since there are so many to choose from.

Mango Yakult and BTS cup sleeve
    Nhi V.

Came for the BTS cup sleeve collab! Milk Cha Cha is one of my favorite boba spots in Charlotte. I love their yakult options, which is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I saw that the south end location was doing a collab one weekend and had to snag a sleeve for my friend who is army. So cool that they do collab for cup sleeves. I never thought this would happen in NC, since I came from ATL and CA. So happy it is . I also really love this location because it's so walkable, so if you want to take your boba to go, you can walk along the rail trail OR if you're looking for a park there is one that is a 10min walk away, Latta Park. Great for kiddos! Staff are always nice and helpful, they even asked if I wanted to help them pick out the kpop playlist for the day. So nice! Also lots of cute merch you can pick up for yourself or a loved one. My older cousin picked up a couple things for her kids while she was there. Definitely recommend a stop through!

Grand opening today and (I think) I was the first customer :-) nice to have this south end location since it's much closer to me vs. the other two stores in Charlotte. Also a great addition to the south end restaurant portfolio. It's not a big store, more on the "grab and go" side. Menu is consistent with other locations as well, and I ordered my all time favorite - Darjeeling milk tea, no ice no sugar - hope it's as healthy as I thought so. Tasty as usual. Definitely a good choice to stop by with friends to get something sweet while touring around the area.

The boba drink from this location

I came here with my friends and we order drink and it had more water and honestly its flavor didn't match the price at all fr

Went for the brown sugar boba milk tea. It was OK.
    Allie C.

Super friendly and fast service with a quaint shop and fantastic location. The menu has some interesting choices, but we went with the classic brown sugar, Boba milk tea. To be honest, I didn't love the drink. It was extremely syrupy and not mixed well. I found myself moving the straw up and down inside the cup, and in attempt to mix the ingredients together and make it palatable. I would try it again due to the cleanliness, friendliness, and service.

Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, delicious drinks

On the afternoon/evening of 8/4/25 my husband and I came in. We ordered rose bubble tea, and lavender bubble tea, both large, oat milk, double boba. The second we came in we saw the girl peak her head out and rolled her eyes. "What do you want." With no energy and heavy attitude. I was polite and said my order. And she seemed upset about something on her mind. We decided to tip her I think 15-18% to see if it would make her happy or brighten her day. She didn't say thank you and she just turned around and walked away. I was not expecting her to say thank you for the tip, but I was expecting her to say thank you or your order will be out soon as a customer service note. There was another guy behind the counter/curtain and he mentioned something which made her go. "Oh well it's too late now, and then she shrugged her shoulders. " and we heard that as we left the building. Got home and within about 20 minutes my husband and I threw up. I have no idea what happened to these drinks, as the curtains are closed behind the counter. I no longer trust this place to make me SAFE food.

We had 6 in total for our party. I love the number of options that they have to offer and am glad they also had a variety of food. The wait staff was friendly and patient with the questions we had about our order. We did have to wait a while for our order of 7 deinks and 7 food items. The drinks came out first, then the ramen and then the noodles and rice. The drinks were delicious, and the galaxy teas were so pretty!! It was definitely difficult to select just one option to try. If you go with a large party and they're willing to share, I would definitely recommend going that route!! A must try spot if you're in the area.

We even made it a mini date since we recently became parents, which made the outing special for us. The order took a while to prepare, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. When we received our food, the packaging seemed small, but I stayed optimistic. Unfortunately, once I opened my sandwich, I was disappointed. The portion of meat was very small, and the bread was quite thin. While the flavor was there, the portion size didn't meet our expectations. We also ordered a vanilla latte, which was very good and definitely a highlight. I would still recommend this place to family and friends, but I'd be sure to let them know that the sandwich portions are smaller than what we're used to at similar restaurants.

The atmosphere felt like a place where time either slows down or speeds up depending on how long you stare at your cup. The barista seemed to understand my order before I said it, which was comforting and mildly unsettling. The area was clean and the cute interior makes for a good social media photo op. The menu has good variety and explorative flavors that encourages repeat visits. I got a Mango Milk Tea and was not disappointed. It gave a Mango Lassi vibe and was very refreshing. My only downside was the bottom of the drink tasted gritty and had a white residue left at the bottom. Also, I initially wanted the drink with light ice and this was my first encounter at a shop that charges extra for light ice (45 cents). Not a huge deal and I understand that companies incur more costs for light ice or no ice. Maybe I could justify the additional charge for getting the drink without ice, but I still wanted ice---just not a lot of it. I just would've like to have been told about it or seen some signage about the additional charge since the toppings and other add ons are listed out. I could've missed where it was listed out, but I don't think I saw anything written out. Nonetheless, after a few healthy gulps, I was sad that the drink was gone. I would come back to try other items.

As a San Francisco Bay Area foodie who's been steadily eating my way through Charlotte, I had…read morebookmarked Lee's Sandwiches and was excited to finally give it a try--and overall, it did not disappoint. The concept is refreshingly simple: a straightforward menu of banh mi sandwiches, summer rolls, chips, and prepared foods ready to go. They also offer beer on tap, traditional Vietnamese iced coffee and tea, and fresh fruit smoothies. No frills--just solid, approachable Vietnamese fare. I ordered the #8 Chinese barbecue (char siu) banh mi and requested light pâté and extra vegetables. The sandwich was made to order and came out quickly. One of the owners kindly let me know that pâté typically isn't included on that particular sandwich and didn't charge me for it, which I appreciated. The sandwich itself was good, reasonably priced (around $8-9), and filling. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which delivered exactly the caffeine kick I was looking for. It wasn't overly sweet, had beautifully crushed ice, and came with a proper lid--not the plastic film seal you sometimes see at boba shops. Combined, the sandwich and coffee came to about $15, which felt like a great value. The interior is charming and thoughtfully designed. There's a small tuk-tuk display with retail items, traditional Vietnamese decor like bamboo hats on the walls, and even a seating area with low stools that gives a nod to the street-side dining style you'd find in Vietnam. I also loved the creative touch of repurposed Café Du Monde coffee cans holding napkins and chopsticks--simple, clever, and memorable. One small note for authenticity seekers: as someone who grew up with traditional Vietnamese cuisine, I've been searching for the classic old-school imperial rolls made with rice paper that fries up bubbly, crispy, and slightly chewy. The owner confirmed what I've been noticing--that many restaurants in the Charlotte area adapt recipes to American tastes, so that particular style is harder to find here. It wasn't a dealbreaker, just an interesting cultural observation. For my personal taste, the char siu wasn't quite as rich or fatty as the Chinese barbecue versions I'm used to, and the pâté had a slightly bitter note. Next time, I'll likely try the lemongrass pork banh mi and skip the pâté altogether. Insider tip: This is a great spot for a quick, affordable lunch with authentic flavors and fast service. The iced coffee alone is worth the visit. Overall, a cute, well-run neighborhood shop with solid value, friendly service, and a menu that does a few things well. I'll definitely be back to continue exploring the offerings.
