What a pleasure to have a great new casual restaurant in Georgetown. Had the Jake wood fired pizza. Basic pepperoni and cheese. Get this, you can't see through the pepperoni! Seriously. Milestone has every component you'd look for in a noteworthy restaurant. The menu has something for everyone, the food is always hot & fresh, not to mention reasonably priced. The atmosphere is lively but intimate; there's a lot of attention to detail in the decor and layout so that you can dine at the bar, family style in the middle of the restaurant, by the pizza oven or in a quieter nook depending on your mood. The staff is friendly and conversational and do a great job of making you feel at home. After a few visits you're likely to be on first name basis and if you're like me, they've got your pizza + ranch order committed to memory in no time! I had a reservation but my friend had to cancel so I called ahead of time to change the reservation. I was told I could no longer have a reservation for one person I could sit at the bar. I came early because I wanted to sit and relax and eat before my friends band came on to play. So I made sure to arrive to get a seat at the bar. I'm sitting 10 minutes before I can get a bartender to get water, a menu, a drink, anything because when I asked if I could get a table as a walk-in as single person they said no again sit at the bar. 2 other guys were at my end of the bar and 2 seats empty. The guys finally got there drinks and wished me luck, not a good sign. I had looked at the menu online before I came and had wanted to try the strawberry fields cocktail. Still no water, no menu for food or cocktail after asking twice at this point I'm at 20 minutes. Again ask for menu I get a weird look. The bartender steps away. I finish the drink it's okay but watered down and a lot of ice. At 40 mins a group of people that had been outside by the fire come in behind me and starts rapid firing off drinks and food which immediately is filed and ordered. They take tables and the bar stools next to me. While they're ordering my friends band starting playing. I never got to eat anything. I try to wave down the bartender for an drink and to pay. I'm told I'm in the way I should give up my seat so that the group can have a good time by a waiter. I explain I'm trying to get a drink pay and leave. I can't get my second drink only pay. I have cash which apparently was an issue another 5 minutes. I go to listen to the band. The restaurant isnt prepared. Staff taking out empty tables long after band is playing knocking into the crowd for a solid 10 minutes. It was ridiculous! read more

I really wanted to love this place. I have tried it a few times and each time have come away disappointed. The last time was last week when we went for dinner. While the food was quite good, the service was awful and it was not even a busy night. Our appetizers came out at the same time as our entrees and it was like pulling teeth to get the waitresses attention to bring over our drinks that were sitting at the end of the bar to be delivered. Located in the now-booming Georgetown/Redding area, this excellent spot is close to Wilton, Weston, Ridgefield, Norwalk, and convenient to Danbury and Westport, as well. Live music almost year-round on the covered patio has already been a draw for locals, who are thrilled to have such fine cuisine and great tunes in a neighborhood atmosphere. Taco Tuesdays make for an easy and quick family meal that even the littlest in our group enjoyed. Super family-friendly with booths, tables, communal tables, as well as seating at the Bar and in front of the Il Forno where you can witness the magic happen up close! Stop on over for Saturday or Sunday brunch and taste their special Bloody Mary and catch a game. They call it "The Milestone Hang," and it's a blast! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. You wouldn't know it from the outside but this place is very cozy, comfortable, nice and extremely clean. Milestone is a great spot for some food with friends, but can get a bit challenging with kids. I went most recently with my wife and 18 month old son. The food selection was good, and the beers were crafty. The fries were DELICIOUS! We ran into a spot of trouble when my son wanted to get up and move. Going early, there is plenty of space to do so, but he kept wantingnto play by thr greese dumpster by the side of the building. Totally safe looking, but with the spot of grass, its enticing to the younglings. There were other children with the same idea, and playing in the spot actively. Not a detractor by any means. My first time here... The location and ambiance are nice. I ate at the bar and the burger was very tasty. Mist likely, I'll be back in the future. My next comments are not meant to be disparaging, rather they are meant to be helpful. There were only 3 people sitting at the bar when I got there. It took close to 15 minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. I did "the coughing thing" to get his attention. His comment was "I didn't see you behind the post."... I'll give him a pass and trust that was true. Yet, bartenders need to look past the post. I ordered a drink with 3 olives. I was surprised that 2 had pits and 1 did not. In my second drink, I asked for consistent olives. It's then that the bartender explained that the different types were to create different flavor profiles.... I call this a MISSED opportunity! If expressed up front, this would have been a cool signature style. Yet, it came across as sloppy and inconsistent. One final note, the person next to me wanted a different cheese on burger. Response was "no substitutions"... Owners should watch the movie with Jack Nicholson (I believe "Five Easy Pieces"), where the waitress responds with "No Substitutions.". . . At this point, I suspect the reader is thinking what's the issue. Well, we made an earlier reservation for Christmas Eve dinner and arrived earlier than the appointed time. We were enthusiastic about ordering of the Christmas Eve menu as advertised on their website for both take out and in person dining. Well, it was really a bait and switch come on really. The prime rib dinner with all the Anglo accompaniments was not available for in person dining. We would have gone somewhere else. Their menu has continuously been refined and improved since we started coming here...we love it! My significant other doesn't usually express his emotions over food, I was hoping that he would come up for air, and talk to me. Ladies, I don't care.. Live !! Try the chocolate bread pudding!! Were having dinner when the manager began screaming at the bartender, with no regard for the customers sitting there witnessing this awful scene. They had a band playing which was a bit too loud for my taste but they were good and I'm sure would have not been affected by the sound level in the summer with the doors open- not a big deal. The worst service that I have ever experienced, I've been there 3 times and I will never go back again. Sitting at the bar for 20 minutes before I had to wave my hands two different times to get the bartenders attention. Ordered pizza, came while I was in the restroom, got back to my seat and the bartender took the pepper and cheese tray away that he put in front of me when ordered the pizza. I downloaded yelp just to give milestone 2 stars. While the food was very good and our waiter was extremely nice, my family and I had a reservation for 8 O'clock and when we arrived they had no tables reserved for us. The whole point of a reservation is to reserve the table for your party. We ended up waiting an 1 hour and 15 minutes to get seated at a 4 person table with 5 people so not only did we wait an 1 hour and 15 minutes with a reservation, but then placed us at a table for 4 people so we were squished. How can you run a business like that, what's the point of a reservation?!? At least don't take reservations if you aren't going to abide by them, like how can you think someone with an 8pm reservation should wait an hour and 15 minutes to sit. I was pleasantly surprised....no make that shocked about the level of renovation that has gone on in this location. The tables and bar are all glowing with a honey colored tone. The distant small bar frames a state of the art pizza oven and the acoustics and overall vibe of the new Milestone are all incredibly attractive. And the drinks, service and food are a match in quality and taste. You can grab a glass of wine at the bar and share a pizza and salad or get a full meal with entrees ranging from grilled chicken to short ribs over polenta. We are local residents and were excited to try this spot with high yelp reviews. Ambiance inside was welcoming and rustic/chic. We went for lunch on a Saturday and I think they need a lunch menu as the entrees ranged from $19-$29 and the burger was $16, but really $18. We ordered the burger and they charged $2 extra for lettuce and onion. The appetizer menu was very small- 1 chili, 1 soup and 4 apps. Almost every table had a family with kids, but no kids menu. With Washington Prime going out of business for very high prices, I think this place has great potential but needs to lower their prices to stay in business. read more
