This is when (much like the references in the other one star review) communication began to suffer greatly, and eventually stopped, ALL TOGETHER, once we asked for our money back. We got ONE phone call, then we were ghosted completely. We called and sent messages through their website. Nothing. Keep in mind that we can prove that nothing had been purchased for this project. NO REASON for not returning my money. Seems pretty shady. So, this "Veteran Owned" company, has completely shafted a 100% permanently and totally disabled veteran. Our deck is an absolute safety hazard for my wife and I. I made that clear in one of the messages I sent. That I needed my money to get my deck fixed before someone got hurt. Nothing. Steer clear unless you're independently wealthy and care nothing of morals. Also, if you look, you will see that I write a good number of positive reviews, so don't think this is a one off. I'll also be sending this to WAVY TV 10, and the Better Business Bureau. Right now.

They replaced a badly weathered wooden deck and stairs at the back of my house with a beautiful deck and stairs made of composite material with aluminum railings. They also replaced the wooden fence (also badly weathered) surrounding the HVAC units on the side of house with vinyl fencing. I contacted Upward along with several other firms, and the owner (Tim Jones) got back to me by phone within a day and talked through the job. He then visited the site (I was away from the house) and within a few days, sent me a very detailed estimate that explained exactly the work that needed to be done. I then met Tim at my house, and he answered all of my questions and discussed options. Tim and team were ready to start the job in a couple of weeks and did a really great job. They prepared the steps and not surprisingly, discovered a lot of wood rot underneath; they completely rebuilt the structure underneath at an additional (but reasonable) cost. The crew was great. They showed up on time, were very courteous, and were very careful in their work, always cleaning up the job site at the end of the day, with a thorough cleaning when the job was done. The final result is just BEAUTIFUL and so much nicer than what was there before and should be pretty much maintenance free. Everything about this job went as it should, in that Tim was very responsive to any questions, communicated when there would be a delay (it took a little longer than expected to get materials), and made sure that I was fully satisfied with the final result.
