Great, friendly service from Chris with Mile-Hi. I foolishly thought I could install a new four way light switch and ended up messing up the circuit. Our weekday availability is pretty limited, but fortunately Chris was able to set up a Saturday visit to fix my mess. Not only that but he helped me install a wifi light switch, and even walked me through how to require the old switch if we have problems. How odd, I thought to myself. My prongs on various plugs were getting bent. Then, one day, it looked like an outlet was turning brown. Being the intelligent person that I am, I thought that putting a baby plug protector in the outlet would fix everything. Fast forward to a weekend a week or so later. We're enjoying music in the morning getting ready for church when the power to half the house went out. I flipped all the breakers, and nothing. What's wrong? Well, it turns out that the faulty outlet completely melted the plug protector, causing half the house to short out. And now, the casing around the outlet had cracked and turned even more brown. It was time to call a professional. I've always been intimidated about calling people like plumbers or electricians. I know so little, and they know so much; I always feel like I'm about to get ripped off. Well, Chris instantly made me feel at ease. I called him on the phone and he sounded very knowledgeable, and was able to come by my house within a few hours to check it out. When he got there, he diagnosed the problem quickly and gave us what we believed to be a fair price up front. The best thing about Chris, though, is he's just very easy to be around. With my wife and son being at house alone while he worked. He kept to himself, while at the same time, could be very engaging when explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. He even gave us some great advice on how to redo the lighting in our kitchen in the future, as the current lighting setup is not great. I plan on using Chris again for all of my future electrical needs. I trust Chris to get the job done and do it great. We had an electrical short, so one of our circuit breakers wouldn't reset. Chris talked me through some potential fixes before deciding that I probably couldn't fix it on my own. He was able to come out the same day and got the work done in the time frame he quoted, and at the price he quoted us initially. He was very polite and willing to explain both the problem and the solution to me, even though I don't know the first thing about wiring. The problem was a short in the wall, which could have cost an enormous amount of money to fix, but Chris offered to fix it at the switch instead, which was both faster and much cheaper. As good as it gets. This is a one-man business, on-time & competent. Had bad circuit (several outlets near each other not working) so I replaced breaker but that did not solve the problem. Made appt, Chris arrived early, solved problem. Charged $100 for about 55 min work and $5 in parts he had in truck. He explained why problem occurred due to aluminum wiring in older house with much non-professional wiring done by previous owner(s). $$ chg'd seems reasonable and I feel good about the experience. Chris was great! He was responsive on the phone and helped me do a little trouble shooting. We both realized it was not something that could be solved over the phone so he came out the next day. A section of my house had lost power to outlets and lights. He did a great job of methodically troubleshooting until he found the melted wire in the ceiling behind a super hot halogen light. bingo that was it. He installed new light fixtures after fixing the bad wires. Everything started working and all is great. If you need electric work, Chris is your guy. We had a ceiling fan that was poorly installed by a handyman and made a clicking sound. We were ready to have him install a whole new fan, but Chris was able to fix our existing fan and make the clicking go away.
