I started with a Aperol Spritz. It was the perfect amount of sweet and sour. Wendy had the espresso martini also mixed to perfection. Very smooth no bitterness. I had the Pomodoro and she had the eggplant de parmigiana. Both were to die for! Our desserts were just as amazing as our dinner. I had the panna cotta and Wendy had the espresso affogato. I highly recommend this place. They were busy and we felt like we were the only guests. The views are incredible. So far, it's the best place we've eaten in Milan in 4 days.

Best table snacks, the morsels of asiago cheese, ring-shaped crackers/ tarallini (a traditional…read moresnack in Puglia), and mortadella, served straight up in a cute mini chest. Lunch service began at 12pm, so our arrival at 11:30am turned into a short aperitivo hour where I ordered a [very] light Limoncello, poured pre-mixed from a bottle. Eventually, after viewing the menu through an app (which offered *some* translations), we ordered directly with a server. The Polpette di manzo/ beef meatballs in tomato sauce were actually quite delicious, the natural acidity from the fresh tomatoes lending much to the flavor. Unfortunately, while the half sleeve pasta shells on their own were quite bouncy and enjoyable, the carbonara ingredients for the Mezze maniche alla carbonara made the dish SO salty. Similarly, my friend's mezze maniche in a tomato sauce (al sugo di pomodoro) was just as salty. Maybe the sharp pecorino cheese is just too strong for us or there was a serious error in the amount added. We were let down a bit since our Airbnb host hyped up this place for pasta to a great extent! I'm just glad I at least was able to enjoy my meatballs and the table snacks which were of top quality!

The rooftop location right across from the Duomo helps you forget about the few extra Euro you pay for the view. With that said, don't sleep on Maio. Maio is one of the better options in a touristy area and definitely recommended!

Armani Bamboo Bar/ Restaurant Milan…read more This modern, chic restaurant serves good food in a pretty space. We stopped in for lunch and were surprised that the restaurant was virtually empty. While the hostess/initial server was a very abrupt, very haughty (with more than a tad of condescension) unpleasant, British woman, (so unpleasant that we were going to leave) the rest of the staff was better, some staff members even rising to the level of gracious. GianPaulo, for example, was attentive, accommodating and very pleasant, so we stayed. We opted to share the shrimp appetizer, which was quite tasty. We then opted for the salmon poke and seared tuna salad (their version of the nicoise). The salmon poke was not bad. The seared tuna salad excelled in both plating and flavor. The tuna was fresh and lightly seared, and the vegetables were also fresh and prepared perfectly al dente. As the restaurant was quite empty, after the initial unpleasantness, we enjoyed a peaceful, relaxing lunch. While we wouldn't "rush back" to Bamboo Bar, it's well located, has a pleasant ambiance, and the seared tuna salad was quite good.

We stayed for a 3 night visit and arrived a little early for check-in but they took our bags while we walked around a bit. When we returned at check-in time, our bags were already up in our room, which I thought was a really nice touch. The room itself was nice and spacious. We got the Executive Jr. Suite since we wanted a separate area for my son. The view out the window was of the beautiful structure across the way. The bathroom was also nice and roomy. There was also a complimentary box of Venchi chocolates, which was so sweet! Breakfast was also great. Spacious dining room with a large variety of sweet and savory options, hot and cold. Coffee service was nice... we ordered cappuccinos each morning. The trams and train were also right outside the front door which was super convenient to get around the city. I would totally stay here again next time.
