Hands down one of the best cocktail bars in Milan. Worth the trip from central square to the south. The staff is fluent in English and very accommodating. On the other hand they do take reservation on the phone. Which I think is a bit weird for a bar. Most patrons who came first are told the tables are not available because of reservations. The drinks are tasty and we'll crafted. The menu booklet is very thoughtful.

A great creative cocktail spot along the Navigli Canal in Milan! Since it's included in many generic "must visit" lists and was featured on the Stanley Tucci show, I thought it might be touristy and overrated - I was wrong! Like everywhere else in Italy, they serve some complimentary snacks as soon as you sit down. The cocktail menus are categorized so it's easy to find your preferred kind of cocktail. Seating inside is intimate and dark. Most seating is a backless stool or small chair. There is also seating outside along the canal.

A quirky eclectic and cool cafe in the Navigli District in Milan. It looks like an old pharmacy and offers up a nice menu of cocktails and wines. I was with a party of seven and we had a nice time. The kitchen was closed but they offered us small portions of popcorn, olives and nuts to snack on. I had a Manhattan and an Old Fashioned. The Manhattan was made differently than what I'm accustomed to however, it was delicious! The Old Fashioned was nice too. Our waitress, who was Ukrainian, was nice and made suggestions with what was best to order. I definitely bookmarked this place for a future visit.

While studying in Milan in October, stumbled across Mag Cafe at night. The cafe part of the place retired with the sun and the bar was in full force. What intrigued me with the location was the eclectic menu with odd flavors and ingredients. Overall this is a fun late night spot for some hit or miss drinks. The servers are attentive (which is great in computing other establishments on the river front) but the drinks are a bit mid. While the breakfast tai I had was tasty, I think curiosity killed the cat as the more drinks I tried, the less impressed I was with the selection. If you want some oddities, this is your place. If you want consistently good cocktails, you may want to try elsewhere.

Italian is a wine country. That can make finding craft cocktails difficult. However, Mag Café is a craft cocktail gem! Not only do they make tasty, well balanced cocktails, they distill some of their own liquors! The staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Definitely a must go to in Milan if you enjoy craft cocktails

We experienced their kiosk in Mercato Centrale. The drinks are amazing and the service very good and with a strong attention to offering a local personal touch. The ambiance was comfortable and perfect on a Saturday Milanese afternoon.

Innovative, reasonably priced cocktails. Great location overlooking the canal. Surprisingly attentive service compared with my other experiences in Milan.

Sorry you didn't win. Poor Capricorn.

We came here for cocktails after dinner. The decor is great and the cocktails were delicious. My only complaint was they sat us inside, told us where to sit and they sat us on a ottoman type thing that had no back and it was really really hot once the place filled up. We left only because we were uncomfortable in our seats and hot. The service was pretty quick at first but once it got busy we just went to the bar to order our drinks. I loved the astrology theme to the cocktail list. It was different and fun. I'd recommend this place for one or two drinks. The drinks are also around 10 euro each.

The "mag"a and "mag"o served some amazing drinks. This is a cannot miss cocktail bar. Can't wait to visit when I return to Milan.

A superb cocktail establishment - the menu was themed to astrological signs which was fun - I ordered cross signs and had one of the finest mezcal negronis I've tried - they put coffee in it which led to beautiful balance. (They give you a recipe card and i can't wait to try it at home.). My friend gave them a tiki challenge which they met with great technical skill. The aperitivo plate of lovely prosciutto, Grissini, and cheese seemed small but they replaced it at least four times and we had to ask them to stop so that we could have our dinner later.

    Rachel M.

Really yummy apertivos! Love the atmosphere here too! Gets crowded especially for a table outside. Drinks are anywhere from 9€ up, but they give you compliment breadsticks and prosciutto!

Plate of small eats with your drink!

A young sophisticated crowd comes in around 9:30pm and they stay open till about 2am. After a stressful day in language class we needed this place. We could have gotten a better deal during happy hour, if we had come for apperitivo, where you get food with your drink purchase. But they do provide bar snacks olives and fruit. Each seating area is designed for privacy, but gives you an open space view to people watch. Downstairs you can buy some of the latest Armani apparel or peruse the bookstore. While the hostess/initial server was a very abrupt, very haughty (with more than a tad of condescension) unpleasant, British woman, (so unpleasant that we were going to leave) the rest of the staff was better, some staff members even rising to the level of gracious. GianPaulo, for example, was attentive, accommodating and very pleasant, so we stayed. We opted to share the shrimp appetizer, which was quite tasty. We then opted for the salmon poke and seared tuna salad (their version of the nicoise). The salmon poke was not bad. The seared tuna salad excelled in both plating and flavor. The tuna was fresh and lightly seared, and the vegetables were also fresh and prepared perfectly al dente. As the restaurant was quite empty, after the initial unpleasantness, we enjoyed a peaceful, relaxing lunch. While we wouldn't "rush back" to Bamboo Bar, it's well located, has a pleasant ambiance, and the seared tuna salad was quite good.

I should mention that we were all well dressed, jackets, dresses etc. everyone looked great... When we arrived the doorman stopped us at the hostess's stand to insist I place my $500 or so handmade Italian umbrella in the front door's overflowing and chaotic umbrella bucket. I calmly showed him my plastic umbrella bag I bring with me for this exact situation, told him "it's not a problem," put my umbrella inside the bag and started walking in. He stopped my fiancée and I and said either the umbrella goes in the front door's bucket or I go outside. Of course, everyone knows umbrellas in an establishment's umbrella bin are considered public property by Italians. My fiancée calmly explained to him it was too expensive for the bin and he said "I don't care!" Then comes the most pretentious part- he said it needed to be left in the bin for "security purposes" Imagine! To stop all umbrellas! I was able to bring my umbrella into an event with president Obama but not Roialto! We looked around and saw no one but normal younger Italians all overdressed to appease their obviously snobby hosts. No VIPs important enough for their own security detail anyway. At that point and not so calmly, I told him where he could put all of his umbrellas and I left. Our friends were already seated and I told my fiancée outside I would get a drink elsewhere while they were there. Once we did everyone complained about the snobby eye-rolling service they got from staff there, even the Filipini buffet servers. Yelp! I recommend not troubling these people since they are obviously the only ones 'cool enough' to be around themselves. It will save your evening as well.
