A hidden gem. I was a bartender for several years while I was in college and I really learned to appreciate a well-made cocktail. The guys that work here are extremely knowledgeable, so take advantage of it! They have also accumulated an amazing array of different liquor and juices. They had seven different kinds of bitters! All different flavors. Dandelion bitters was my favorite. My drink tasted like flowers. No joke. The fun of coming here is to tell them a base liquor that you're interested in drinking, and then letting them stretch those mixologist muscles to make you something really unique. Don't kill the vibe by just ordering a cosmo. You can drink that anywhere! I was also really impressed with the appetizer plate that they gave you. All kinds of fancy olives, cheeses, crackers... without additional charge. The prices are slightly higher than average, but honestly not by much, and so very worth it. The monkeys on the walls and all over the bar make for a very hip vibe. The guys even pointed out some other places to see while we were in the city, including (our favorite) late night karaoke. As everyone has said, this is a must for the cocktail lover. There is no menu and while they will make what you ask for, their preference is just to ask what you like and surprise you. They made me a negroni but used grapefruit juice instead of vermouth which did an excellent job cutting the bitterness that I often find with a normal negroni. I happened to catch the Croatia/UK WC quarterfinal here with a crowd that was definitely rooting for Croatia. read more

I fell in love with this bar, fortunately it is only half a block from my hotel, AND a few blocks from the central station! Awesome cocktail and reasonably priced. Everywhere we went, drinks were at least 12 euro and only average. This bar charges 10 euro for a cocktail and 6 euro for draft beer It is so laid back, has no menu, and either you tell them specifically what you want or they will make you a concoction based on what you are feeling. My first drink.. i told them i wanted something sweet, fruity, and with vodka, they made me a peach cocktail. This hole in the wall cocktail bar has embodied the mixologists spirit. The decor is unique with cartoon monkeys drinking martinis and the bar itself has an impressive array of liqueurs and bitters. There are no menus. Soon after sitting in a couple empty seats we were asked what drink we wanted. Without any menu to reference we were plagued with the indecisiveness cultivated from a life time of structured menus to choose from. The bartender asked for a liquor and our preference for sweet, sour and dry. I requested whisky served dry and my girlfriend asked for gin, fruity but not too sweet. First I was brought a Brooklyn, which seemed to be Jim bean whisky, dry vermouth and maybe bitters shaken over ice and served in a martini glass. The drink was very well balanced and easily drinkable. Second a strawberry sour was brought out made with gin. This was also tasty and very well balanced. We were also brought a snack platter on the House with chips, olives, cheese, ham, salami, pretzels, olive oil and pickles. If your not so picky and interested in the art of cocktail mixing then this is the bar for you. These mixing masters will ensure your thirst is quenched and senses dulled. Real bartenders and mixologist here hence the price, this is not your dive or sports bar, there is no TV, you come here with friends or to make new friends. They use freshly squeeze juices, they have a bar with plethora of alcohol, and mixing accouterments. I had a Negroni, and bam a big tray of aperitivo, all for me. After my first drink, I had two different bartender's choice, and they were both freshly amazing cocktails made with seasonal fruits. Awesome spot in the middle of Milan. I came here right when they opened when the World Cup finals were on (after Italy had been eliminated) and the bar was totally empty. However over the course of the next hour the place totally filled out - with all the bar seats and the seats lining the wall filling up. This is the spot to go to in Milan if you want a good cocktail. I had a phenomenal spicy Mezcal margarita (for lack of a better name) and the apertivis were plentiful and delicious. There is no menu - you simply tell the bartender (who fortunately spoke English) the type of alcohol you want and any other defining characteristics for the drink. Of note - their beer and wine selection is bare bones. If you're looking for one of those two beverages and are picky, I would chose elsewhere. Otherwise, a great spot to hang out solo or with a small group. But be forewarned - there are no tables. read more

Soooooooo we came here looking for a good drink! And honestly I have not experienced a bar like this. Like the review says they are true mixologists. You tell them want you want and they give it to you. I had a patron and he added honey & lemon and one more thing & it was delicious. My sister had gotten a watermelon drink with vodka & it was also tasty. The only thing it is Italian so no English (hip hop music) and it's EXTREMELY SMALL! But the service was very fast ( it was also around 12:30 AM) and the bartenders were extremely nice! I would love to go back but they said they're not open Thursday! Fantastic place! Small corner bar with a big variaty of drinks. At least 20 different gins from across the gloab. All the barmens are quick and freindly. Easy and relaxed atmosphere with great music in the background. Be prepared that more people are outside as the bar is really small. read more

Simply a great Yelp find. Huge cocktail bar, fantastic cocktails, no cocktail menu only in our host Michaels head!!! A huge bar, 1 red wine, 1 white wine, 1 sparkling wine only available. They have a local micro brewery beers as well from Lambrate brewery. Trust me this is a great find and any yelpers MUST visit. The tapas are free and our first 2 cocktails were only €14. They only use fresh fruit and ingredients which is a bonus. Michael has been making cocktails for 16 years and is a master!!! read more

Not far from the Central Station in Milan, we enjoyed our time at Monkey Bar. The bartender asked what we liked, and although he didn't have a certain amaro for the cocktail that I asked for proceeded to come up with his own version using an amaro that I'd never tasted (Braulio) and it was great. Had to have 2, he twisted my arm! Nice little aperitivo snacks with the drinks too. Agree that sitting at the bar was the way to go as the hard stools in the room didn't look so comfy, but would highly recommend a visit if you want good cocktails in a good space. read more

Dragged the hubby out for an after dinner drink - it's smaller than what the pics lead you to believe, but the bartenders are spot on, the clientele isn't annoying, and they take credit cards - you can't go wrong. Husband ordered a vodka tonic while I told the bartender I like vodka and limes and detest sweet drinks. I received a super yummy vodka sour-lemonade-like tasting drink and it was fabulous! This bar is great we were here every night that we were in town. Great service the owner and his coworker were very knowledgeable about drinks. They use only fresh juices in there drinks. They are alway there 7 days a week and have wifi if you need it they are also rated very high on trip adviser. We got very lucky the the place we were staying with airbandb was right next door to this bar. If you are looking for a place to hit up while you are in town give this place a try. read more
