It's added an incredible amount of outdoor livable space and significantly increases the overall home value. The project manager communicated well via email and the crew was always friendly. They also treated our pets very well and given our two rambunctious dogs, that's a definite bonus. They were also aware of our intention to purchase a hot tub and made absolutely sure the deck could withstand the water weight. The negative: There were a lot of promises to be there that didn't happen. It became a pleasant surprise when they actually came as scheduled. Initially, we were told this would be a five or six day project and the reality was that they started in January and finished the final bits in June. To be fair, the project manager did experience a personal emergency (which was totally understandable) and there were some weather delays. That being said, it's still hard to accept that the project that was supposed to take five-six days spanned six months. Our final issue was getting them come back to remove the trash and fix a broken board. We started asking them to come back as of 4/29/15 to remove the trash and fix the broken board. Despite multiple promises to come, they didn't actually do it until today. Bottom line: They do beautiful work but they really need to improve on customer communication and fulfilling promises that are made. They also perhaps need to be more realistic with themselves and their customers on project timelines.

After the contract was already signed, the contractor returned with a subcontractor, looked at the house again, and then sent a new estimate for roughly $1,300 more, nearly doubling the original price. Because the price changed so much after the agreement, I decided not to move forward. No actual repair work was done on the house, but I was still charged $300 to cancel the contract after what was basically a short walkthrough visit. I understand that construction projects can uncover additional issues, but I did not expect the cost to increase that much after signing, and I definitely did not expect to be charged a cancellation fee when no work had been performed. In my opinion, the process felt very one-sided and not customer friendly. I recommend that anyone considering this company read the contract very carefully, especially the cancellation terms and how change orders are handled, before signing anything.
