We never got the fries, I called and they said they couldn't offer anything because they get too many phone calls about how they didn't receive something. Well that's fine, if I pay $30 for two meals I'd expect my order so I won't be going back here and I'll make sure I make sure everyone I know will hear this story. The best thing about Mikie's are the shakes. They are thick, with fresh ingredients, and practically are a meal of their own. Came to around 19.00.(Dinner for 2 people). Price wise- not the cheapest, the quality of the food was a lot better this time. Okay, so I took my kid's advice and gave Mikie's a try. I wasn't overwhelmed with their burgers, but they were good. The location can be a little difficult to get into on a busy night. There isn't a lot of room to sit in their dinning area. It smacks of an old school soda fountain shop which is fun. The price was very reasonable. Unacceptable food!!!!! I was a polite customer coming to what used to be my favorite establishment that I would boast and brag about. Since the pandemic COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak as of lately the few times I've come into Mikie's the quality of the food has not been delicious. I ordered a small chocolate shake, large onion ring, grandpa burger with extra extra bacon. My food was burnt, greasy, flavorless, dry, sloppy and very unappetizing....... I understand we are all working in a stressful environment do to the circumstances myself and my husband are also considered essential workers. We appreciate Mikie's staff for staying open and serving the community but I've been very unhappy with the quality of the food but today was worth doing a review for the manager, management, owner and corporate!!!! I'm very disappointed ; we use to bring our friends, kids and grandchildren here. I called up to complain about the food being prepared at Mikie's and I told the young lady who answered the phone my concerns and I wanted to speak with management. She told me the manager would be in the next day and to bring the food back and she would gladly fix my order. I explained to the young lady that I live in Stanwood I work in Seattle the food should of been corrected before leaving that establishment and should have never been served to any customer this way! With that being said now you want me to come all the way back to be inconvenienced even more. I'm appalled at the quality of food service that's coming out in these establishments. That people like myself have to work in the same if not more so unsafe working condition to be treated like that ; spend their hard earned money in the middle of a pandemic. I appreciate Mikie's staff for being essential workers but I make sure that I treat everyone with dignity and respect. Soft and light insides, perfectly cooked, no heavy oil taste on the inside. Fantastic batter and well cooked. Chips were good. I should have asked if they had malt vinegar packets to go b/c those did not come automatically with it. Not a fan of slaw so I didn't try it. Simple old school burger and shake place. Very good simple burgers, fries are basic but the real winner here is the rootbeer. It's tap rootbeer that they serve in a giant frosted mug. After coming here for over 5 years they've lost my business and have horrible customer service skills. I use to be a customer that came here every week maybe even more. I recommended Mikies to friends. Been going here for years. I spend well over $30.00 every time I go here. I went thru the drive thru and came home and there was no bacon on my sandwich living 15 minutes away and it being late I wasn't going to drive back to get bacon. Called the manager she asked the cook if he put bacon on he said he didn't remember. She said she would put the receipt up and come in and get the sandwich. So the next day my brother goes there to get his sandwich driving 15 minutes from my house. He gets there they say no we aren't giving you a burger and told him to get out. I called the manager again explained the situation and he refused to provide any customer service saying we didn't pay for bacon. I said I don't know where the confusion is but he asked for bacon burger and it wasn't given and we took all necessary steps to call and now you kick my brother out of your restaurant. He said Im not in business to give free food. Again I have been a customer for over 5 years If I had gone in I am sure everyone would know me. I will boy cot this place and never recommend it again - horrible service to a customer that has been going there as long as I have. Don't be surprised when you see me with picket signs in front of your restaurant. I believe in customer service and this establishment clearly lacks it. While I don't appreciate the Fifties music and pictures of cars that so many restaurants employ for decor, if the food encourages me I can see past it. And, fortunately, Mikie's offers some fine fast food. Reviewers are accurate regarding the banana shake. Delish. Other flavors are probably great too. And don't forget, they come with whipped cream. My burger, with the works, was tasty and satisfying. They served a thinnish patty, insuring that it was well-done. The condiments were more than just afterthoughts, including two tomato slices, plenty of onion, pickle, shredded lettuce, special sauce, and cheese. It could have used more pickles, but was still a classic gruppo of toppings. My daughter and I prefer Mikie's fries to Ray's. Wife prefers the extra greasiness of Ray's. I think Mikie's are just about perfect: some crispiness, but still potato. The fact that their tartar sauce is irresistible helps me eat them. Wife got the fish 'n' chips, which may have been the priciest item on the menu, at $9.99. She reported that the breading stayed on, and had the right amount of crisp. One problem was that after biting into the fish "really hot water" dripped out, hurting her luscious lips. This, I speculate, was the result of freezer condensation. We saw another customer struggling with this as well; his fish appeared to contain even more fluid. We've passed by Mikie's for the past 5 years but never got to go until Monday evening. Gotta tell ya, we were all impressed. Our burgers were nice and juicy without being greasy/runny, and next time we'll ask for the onions to be grilled (sounds bomb). The onion rings were awesome (maybe with just a touch too much salt), crunchy and plentiful. And the shakes...dear Lord...the shakes. We highly recommend the chocolate fudge shake (any one of them can be made into a malt). If that wasn't real whipped cream, it was sure a great substitute.
