The installation was scheduled and went as expected. I was told about a lifetime warranty at the time of sale and installation. After a couple of months, we noticed there were a few finishing issues with the doors which were installed. I called back and scheduled an appointment. There were no questions, only pertaining to what issues I have and what remedy I wanted. Jamie was extremely professional and was "exactly" on time. He wasn't early, nor was he late. You can tell that his life is structured in such a manner. He did a very clean and neat job. Just as he did during the installation of the doors. He also was respectful and laid down protective covering while conducting the minor repairs to some of the french doors and an interior garage door leading from the inside of the home to the inside of the garage. The area around the doors was brought back to how it was before he arrived. You'd never known he was at the home doing repairs. Except, of course, by the way, the doors are functioning. OMT - he also went above and beyond. He painted the entire molding around the door, not just the place where there was a bit of a seam showing. That is more than could have been expected. read more

Used this company for new interior doors. We bought special hinges for each door, but they placed generic ones on only one of them, and cut the door to fit that hinge. No one on staff noticed that the one door didn't match the others. Finally got the matching hinges I paid for, but since the door was cut to fit a differently shaped hinge, there were raw edges showing. They ghosted us when I submitted pics showing the issue. Joanne blamed the manufacturer and we never heard from anyone again. In addition, they had problems hanging a pocket door, couldn't figure out how to make it slide smoothly. I used a hammer and did it myself. AVOID this business if you want a completed project with skilled installers who pay attention to detail. read more

Contacted this company for a front entry door. The only good part of the company was the young man who came by, to hand me a brochure with lots of choices. Every time I called to order a door or a measure, I got a recording, we are busy, or out of the office. After the third try, I was done! No Answer, No Business. I wonder where all these good reviews came from. read more

I could not be happier with my new front door. From beginning to end all was great. Thank you so much and I highly recommend this company.

I would not recommend this company. Very unorganized. I reached out to this company to get a quote. I should've saw the first red flag and moved on when they didn't call me back but I kept trying giving this company a chance. I finally got an email from the company owner apologizing for the delay. Giving them a chance I waited for the guy to come out an measure. He never showed up. For an email apologizing for this. I still gave them another chance. Finally the guy showed up but outside of his appointment time because he was down the street and wasn't coming back to my area for my original appointment time. So I came home to meet with him. A couple days later for an email with the quote and had the final measurement appointment. Two weeks went by never heard from this company I reached out and got an email saying that they are t able to order the doors she's waiting for to arrive. This was back in March. It's now August and I never heard back from the business owner who was the point of contact on my account. STAY AWAY it's a waste of time. read more

**** AVOID AT ALL COSTS **** My wife and I contacted Mikes Windows and Doors a while back when we first moved into our new home, and they were very cooperative. They emailed back extremely fast and answered all questions and sent someone out to look at our doors and check out the project before starting. I dropped off a deposit of $900 (50/50) deposit. A month later their installer came by, right as i left to work. I got home from work and their installer told my wife that 6/10 doors were the incorrect sizes , and also that the doors were made of very cheap material. He installed the door at no charge, as he told my wife. He then gave my wife a small piece of ripped cardboard with the correct measurements and emphasized that he WOULD NOT CHARGE us for the 1 door install. A month or 2 go by and i finally return the doors to home depot, I text their installer and he gives me no response. Weeks go by and i email them and just ask for a refund, and say that I prefer to take my business else where since they are so busy and I would prefer someone to walk us thru the steps of ordering and etc. The "Owner" Joanna Frady, then emails me back saying that we were gonna be refunded $545 for the 1 door install and getting the DOORS MEASURED. They charge 17.50 to measure a door. 6/10 which were already correct. WE NEVER ASKED FOR OUR DOORS TO BE MEASURED NOR DID WE EVER AGREE TO THAT RATE. AVOID THIS COMPANY at all costs. read more

I predict this place being closed or out of business within a year! I was hoping for a third quote for a remodel on our kitchen from these people. However, I have stopped by showroom on Bouquet Canyon road four (4) different days and times during normal business hours (as posted on their window) and these people have never been there. If Mike's Windows and Doors is too lazy or flaky to be at their showroom when they say they will be there, how can I trust that they would show up for a remodel job? I guess our kitchen remodel will go to one of the other contractors. read more

I really should've written this review some time ago. But here it goes. I first emailed Mike and he responded promptly and was very informative over email. I then decided to stop by the store to take a look around. By this time I had already scoped out Lowe's and Home Depot for the right type of doors. Mike game me such a great amount of education on the species of wood and what to look for even if I didn't buy a door with him. His prices were competitive with the big box stores except for the installation, which he contracts with a professional door installer. After further research, I found more information on the gentleman he uses and YES this guy is the real deal. You get what you pay for. My wife and I opted to hold off on getting our door for now but when the time comes we will stop by Rita's for a custard and a=walk over to Mike's for our door. Keep it up Mike. read more

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! My husband and I moved into an older home and needed a new front door. I searched online and found one I liked and it was $8,000 for the door ONLY! So I contacted Mike's Windows and Doors, and talked with Joanna. She showed me almost the exact same door for 1/3 of the price WITH install! Jamie came to install, did a perfect job, and even cut our keypad to fit on our door. Our new doors are beautiful!!! It transformed our house to look so modern. After knowing what great prices and customer service they offer, I ordered 2 bathroom windows since we were remodeling and they were installed in just days because Joanna knew we were on a time crunch for our remodel. I will always recommend this company to family and friends!! We had such a wonderful experience! read more

This was the worst contractor experience I have ever encountered. By choosing Mike's Windows and doors, and relying on the owner Joanna's representation, I suffered a huge financial loss and had to endure a very frustrating experience. First I want to say that the installer for Mike's Windows is a contractor named James who was absolutely fantastic. His workmanship is wonderful, and he is clean, neat, and so good natured, that he is a joy work with. I would use him again in a heartbeat, and highly recommend him for window installation, and even general construction. His phone number is 661-269-5737 and his company is named PDQ Installations. The owner and staff at Mike's Windows, however, seem to know very little about windows, and put their concerns over those of the customer, which in my case resulted in a huge financial loss. The story is this. I love sunshine and light and wanted the clearest low E windows available. I expressed this to the owner Joanna and staffer George in nearly every conversation. This was my #1 concern. I absolutely did not want dark windows. However, when they placed the window order, they ordered the DARKEST Low-E glass available in order to meet Code requirements without taking into consideration that my home faces north and has a patio cover and eaves shading all windows. They did not even know that Simonton offered 2 lighter shades of Low E glass! They sell windows for a living! The glass delivered is *very* dark and casts a dark green hue over each room where the windows are installed. It is horrible! When I asked Joanna why she ordered the darkest Low E available even though I had asked for the lightest Low E available, she replied in writing "Sorry for your frustrations, but we strive to provide the client with their wants and still meet the building code requirements." So how did ordering the darkest Low E glass meet my wants? Now it is going to cost nearly $7,000 to replace the glass. After hours and hours of research, I'm hopeful that the following information on window glass will help anyone purchasing glass to make a good decision. Unfortunately, each Window manufacturer names their glass differently with terms like Solar, Sun, Shade, Performance, and such in the name, so it gets confusing. In reality, these are all different names for essentially 4 types of glass. It's important to know the acronym VLT which stands for Visible Light Transmitted. Also, the VLT varies depending on the window company, with Andersen seemingly more on the high VLT side, while Simonton seems to be on the lower VLT side. So here are the 4 main glass types (VLT stands for Visible Light Transmitted): - Clear - In a single pane this allows in 90% VLT; In a double pane it allows in 81% VLT, has very low UV protection, lets in the most light. - LowE180 - allows in 70% - 80% VLT, very light greenish blue tint, almost clear, some UV protection, good choice if you like light with some UV protection. - LowE270 - allows in 60% - 70% VLT, medium greenish tint, definitely noticeable tint, medium UV protection - LowE366 - allows in 54% - 66% VLT , dark greenish blue tint, very dark, cast green tint in the room where installed, high UV protection, *avoid* this glass if you like light! Unfortunately, Joanna at Mike's Windows and Doors did not know these 4 glass types were available, despite that she sells windows for a living. She only orders LowE366 because that meets Code 24. After working with Joanna, I am now convinced that she cannot see the difference between these glass types, so she does not understand how important the tint is for someone who can see the difference, like me. This glass lesson was very expensive to learn. Unfortunately, since Joanna at Mike's Windows and Doors is not paying the bill, I'm pretty sure she has not learned it. Be forewarned that Joanna only sells one type of glass and its dark green and very dark. I'd highly recommend getting a glass sample before making your purchase. If you want to avoid heartache, frustration and financial loss, please do yourself a favor and work with a Window company that actually knows something about windows. If I had to purchase windows again, I would purchase the windows elsewhere, and have James do the installation. As good as James' installation was, it just could not make up for purchasing the wrong window glass, which will now cost several thousands of dollars to replace. Best wishes to you. read more

Great communication with Joanna, the installer was on time, super nice and did a fantastic job! I will use them again.

I recently had three new doors put in to my home. Joanna Frady is the new owner of Mike's Windows and Doors, she is incredible. She is are very professional and accommodating. I had gotten all my windows when Mike owned the business. When I had my windows professionally cleaned, the company scratched one of the window panes and would not replace the screen that I had already paid for. I spoke to Joanna and she went out of her way to contact the company to see about getting a new window pane and screen. She took the time to come by the house to look at the window and take measurements and did all that she could to get us replacements. She is continuing Mike's great business ethics. She was a pleasure to work with, I would recommend Mike's Windows and Doors to everybody. Susan Eppolito Valencia, CA read more

I had an excellent experience with Mike's Windows & Doors! We had Mike install our sliding doors a few years ago, and we had called them for an estimate for the rest of our windows, 12 windows in all. We wanted to compare estimates, and so we called the company that you probably hear advertised all the time (name has a patriotic connotation). They weren't bad--except their quote was so high. The seller featured their premier product--which was 6K higher than Mike's quote. He also offered the line that Mike was selling--but that was still over 2K more than Mike's. When we told this company that, they assured us that perhaps Mike's wasn't insured or their installer wasn't trained and licensed. But they were wrong. Mike's Windows product had the same guarantee that they offered. Mike's Windows is insured and their installer Jaime, who's great, is licensed and trained. We enthusiastically recommend Joanna and the Mike's Windows team! read more

I just wanted to send a HUGE shout out to Mike's Windows and Doors. 1987 called and they wanted their windows back at our house so we called Joanna at Mike's and she hooked us up with an amazing deal for 17 windows and 4 sliding glass doors. She gave us a two day time frame for installation...skeptical at first but to my surprise, the two installers got all 17 windows in and all but one sliding glass door installed in ONE day. They'll be back tomorrow to finish up. I'm totally impressed with the quality of work and professionalism of this company! Definitely give them a call if you need windows or doors! read more

STAY AWAY. I ordered a window. The one they made is COMPLETELY wrong. What I picked Up looks completely different from the other 2 which are next to it. The 3 on the front of my house are obviously supposed to match but they are so sloppy and clueless they have zero professionalism I paid $500 for this window that does not fit into the space. They measured wrong and did not pay attention to the design. The handle to open the window sticks out two inches. The only way to make it fit is to cut into the existing wood frame which ruins the frame. They are terrible coMmunicators. I talked to owner JoanNa who already HAd 4 very bad reviews but I decided to give them a cHance. Well Those reviews are there for a reason. She is extremely rude and does not listen if u talk to her. I will be telling all my friends and people I care about to avoid this business so they don't get cheated and end up with their shoddy work. read more

Why did we choose Mike's Windows and Doors for our installation? 1. 30 years experience 2. Competitive pricing and 3. A no nonsense approach to the project Mike took preliminary measurements - gave us a good faith estimate, which he recalculated it to fit our budget; and I was still able to get the Simonton windows with life time guarantee. His installer - Jamie craftsmanship is second to none. He was friendly and accommodating - a true master craftsman! Plus, I didn't pay one cent above estimate, and it only took 2 days to install 15 windows and doors. I was thrilled about that! Every other estimate was well above Mike's final quote and would have taken 5-7 days to complete. Mike's Windows and Doors made the difference in the quality, and aesthetic appeal of our windows and doors and our home. I think you will be please with Mike Windows and Doors excellent customer service, quality windows to choose from and fast installation. read more

Update 5/28/14: Moved the positive revised review up top for more visibility Update 6/1/13: Late update but Mike fixed my doors and it is perfect now. Mike went through hoops to try to make it right . We had a rough time but in the end, I had a functioning and esthetically pleasing double front doors. I revised the review to 4 stars as I do recognize that he truly meant well and will not quit until the job is done right. Minus one star still as this was not a perfect transaction from the getgo. Original review Mike is a very personalable guy but unfortunately the work quality is completely unacceptable. We hired him to install a double entry door and it has taken almost one year and still unfinished. I have given him 3 months notice to finish my front door by Thanksgiving after more than 6 months of fiddling, fixing all the mistakes, and I finally have to sit here and write this review on Thanksgiving eve. There is a hugh difference between "hanging a door up" and "install" a door and apparently the guy has no clue. It appears as if the guy is still learning how to install double front doors. First, he cut the floor tiles unevenly where one side is 1/4'' and the other side is almost 1" and attempted to fill in with grout. Luckily I had extra tiles as I bought the house newly built. I had to tell him that it is unacceptable and he has to replace it. Next, he drilled the holes to hold the door too big so the doors are not solidly held, they both rattle with just the wind blowing. He fiddled to try to make the holes smaller so at least the wind won't blow the doors rattling. Next, the frames were almost closed up hollow but luckily I caught it and he filled the frame. It would have made the door so flimsy and noisy if the frame was hollow, acting like a drum. Next, the stucco and paint around the frame was left with holes as large as 3" and as deep as 1". Again, I had to tell him and after days doing and redoing, he fixed the hole that should take a normal installer 1 time, automatically. Next, the edges of the frame were way off and don't fit together, leaving gaps. I have no problem if he knows that and automatically fix it. In this case, again, I had to point it out and he filled the gap so it is not visible. Next, the paint around the frame were messed up. My ceiling and wall has texture and again, I had to complain and it took many trips for him to fix it. Next, he broke my wall water fountain and after gluing it back, he left the electrical wire running outside the water fountain. He promised to fix it once he comes back and fix everthing else, hasn't happened to date. Next, after the installation, the doors have 2 holes, one on top and one on the bottom that I can see the stree if I stand inside. I explained that a front door is to sealout elements so bugs don't come in. My house is also the new thermo-efficient home so the doors can not have holes like that. After days, he finally sealed it with some rubber pieces. As of date, he still has not installed the correct lower frame piece to keep the door from rattling. One door still is stuck, difficult to open. I mean, the list goes on and on that I am getting tired typing. EVERYTHING that could go wrong, he had done it worse. And today, he didn't keep his promise to come finish the work. This is the final straw. Avoid this guy at all cost. My contract for the door was more than $5,000 if you are wondering. Sorry for the long post but I wanted you to not deal with the headache like I had. read more

I originally purchased 30 windows through Mike in Nov. 2011. I was pleased with the Simonton product and the quality of the installation. Mike retired and sold his business. The new owner, Joanna, has taken over the business under the same name. One of those windows failed with a broken seal and moisture collected between the panes. Joanna contacted the manufacturer and the manufacturer replaced the window at no charge. Joanna, however, charged me for the installation. Her statement was that I purchased though the former owner and he retired. While the new business is still called Mike's Windows and Doors she did not feel it was her responsibility to lose money on the installation. To some degree I understand her position BUT she purchased the business in part due to the great reputation that Mike had established and also in part (I would think) for the established client base. I just think it is poor customer service. In addition, I called Joanna in December regarding the window. She took down my information but never got back to me. I called back two weeks later and she explained some difficulties she was having and said she would get back to me. This went on 4 more times where she never got back to me. Each time I would wait a week or so and call her again. Twice I stopped by her office to speak with her. It took almost 4 months for the window to finally be replaced. Joanna is definitely not living up to the standard under which Mike had established his business. read more

Mike's Windows & Doors is simply the best window and door option in the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond. Mike is as honest as they come and his installer, Jamie, is the finest craftsman we have ever experienced. We previously preferred another established window and glass contractor in town but after finding that their quote was some 15% higher than Mike's and their quote was not at all detailed - simply a lump sum, including windows/doors, installation, delivery and tax - we made the wise decision to place our trust in Mike. When Mike prepares his quotes, he uses line-item pricing so the customer knows exactly what each window and door will cost, what the associated installation cost will be and what the tax amount is on the materials. Plus, there are no delivery charges tacked on by Mike as our previously preferred retailer added. We selected Mike and had Jamie install 24 windows and 6 pairs of French doors. The installation took two days for the windows and two days for the doors. After (and during) each day, everything was cleaned to perfection. All existing materials were removed from our home to be recycled. If you desire honest personal attention - from purchase to installation - you will want to seriously consider Mike's Windows & Doors for your home update. read more
