Plus all kinds of treats and dog toys that are built to last. I'm a part of a dog food program offered by Mikes and provided by the dog brand, Orijen. I buy 12 bags of dog food and get the 13 free. Orijen is rarely found in basic pet stores and it is costly, so the program helps. They have a lot of dog accessories. Tuffy dog toys of all kinds and levels. I'm at the level 10 because my crazy French bulldog is a beast. Any normal dog toy, only lasts minutes. Every brand of treat you can think of, including some store made ones. Chicken jerky and dried sweet potato with herbs, is my guys favorite. This was my first time checking in to yelp and I received a coupon for one free pet gift. With 4 pets and a yard full of hungry wild birds, we rely on Mike's for quality products and good prices. They meet or beat the internet vendors with specials, buyers rewards and they throw in young staff members who are only too happy to carry heavy bags to your vehicle. I really appreciate that. They sponsor pet adoptions too. How cool is that? The answer is very cool! The best thing, for us anyway, is the selection of quality pet foods they carry. My wife has made a study of dog foods and found that Orijen was the purest and most healthy for our pets. Mike's carries all of their formulas and their prices have consistently been the best. The people are nice, however selling deer attractant for hunters is not a good thing for this store. Don't like anything that encourages people to hurt/kill animals including mice and rats. Deer repellant is OK for people who don't want deer in their yards, but to cater to people to harm and/or kill animals is not good for this store to sell. read more

I was driving through New Jersey on vacation and needed to get refilled on my raw food for my two dogs. It was getting late so I checked yelp like I do back home and decided to try Mike's based on the reviews. Well I guess yelp was wrong with them. I bought some raw frozen food and the bag was expanding so I asked the clerk if there was something wrong and she said no no it's fine. So I bought it and by the time I opened and thawed it to serve you could tell the patties had defrosted and were re frozen, oh ithe meat stunk, rancid smell. By then I was 300 miles closer to home , thank god there was a petsmart where I could make an emergency purchase. I was there on June 22 and also the clerks were kind of busy smoking something in the back to greet me at the register right away. read more

I LOVE this place!.. They have all the best dog food selections and will happily show you each of them and tell you about them...They really want to help you make the correct choice.... My dog is always welcomed and is given treats at the counter...She loves coming here because of this...They know my breed (Husky) well and make good suggestions on her care... They don't carry the mainstream brands - you'll never see a can of Alpo here...They also don't have price tags on the merchandise...I wish they did... For the past 6 years I've been coming here for my dog food. However, my recent experience has angered me so much that as soon as I walked out I decided to write this review. My negative review is not about the establishment itself but the employees working there. They had just received their shipment yet had 0 bags of the dog food I buy. I spoke to 2 different associates regarding this and they were unsure of when the next shipment would be coming. I put my name and number down for a courtesy call and left with a small bag of different food. No more than 30 minutes after I got home did I receive a call from the girl at the register. She told me that they indeed had a bag. I told her I would be coming for the bag the next day and asked that she hold it for me. So when coming to pick the bag of food up today, the manager behind the counter asked if I was Jamie. He then proceeded to tell me that the girl sold the bag of food earlier. She had told him that I called back and said I would not be coming for it. Which was not the case, I never called. I then asked that I please be called when the new shipment arrives. Again. This place Is amazing they have always been so accommodating so understanding throughout this time where everything was closed they were still so accommodating to their clients with curbside pick up and made their clients still feel like all their needs were met. there was one day where they were about to close and we had no more food for our dog and they were able to help us out and it made our day . I went to Mike's today looking for cat food, while some of the food is expensive the service you receive is without a doubt worth it. It does however have some brands cheaper than other stores for the quality one cat food is 1.60 a pound with the first three ingredients being meat and then more down the ingredients list. Mike, the owner, showed me everything I needed and even gave me a box of 24 cans of wet kitten food. Amazing people, Amazing store, healthy food for every species of animal you can imagine. A good selection of products for all animals. HOWEVER, NOT pleased with the customer assistance. Went in this weekend for the first time to purchase cat food. When the cashier directed me towards the back, employees were too preoccupied "vaping" by the back door and on their mobiles, conversing with one another. When asked for assistance, I was looked as though I was interrupting their conversation with one another. Walked out and will not return. read more

So I got a response, long after the fact, to my review last year saying that $29.99 was the list price but that they would give us a better price for 4 or more bags.I finally convinced my manager to try again. Called today to get a price for 8 bags (they are out and will have to order. Do I want to commit to it? I said "not without knowing what I'll be paying".) The price is $29.99. I give up.
