I've been using Mike's Custom Electric for years, for everything from small jobs to major projects, and they have never disappointed. They consistently deliver exceptional service, are straightforward and honest, and always find a solution when there's a challenge. It's refreshing to know that there are still companies like Mike's that you can truly rely on. They show up, do what they say they're going to do, and take pride in their work. I highly recommend Mike's Custom Electric to anyone looking for a dependable, professional, and trustworthy electrical company. Five stars all the way! Vuk read more

I've used Mike's Custom Electric Service on several occasions. The latest was when there were some electrical problems with the wiring of a dimmable wifi-controlled light switch and with the wiring for our induction cooktop. Mike's Custom was able to identify the problem, re-wire the circuit, re-test the fix and now we're good to go. Mike's custom even cleaned up after their work!!!! It has been several months since the service and things continue to work as they should! Very reliable, excellent electricians, and competitive pricing. I highly recommend them! read more

I contacted Mike for an emergency situation and described the problem with our panel and meter - he suggested for us to call FPL to save us money for his trip out - FPL came out and said it wasn't their problem - he then came out and said it was the issue that he anticipated. He made the call to FPL himself and pushed them to make sure they came out promptly and the issue was resolved. Highly recommend and am very happy with his service! read more

The work was decent, but not timely in hours there and work completed and over charged. They started a job that we were on a deadline for and they showed one day and then not for 2 days and it was always something. 2 weeks later the work finally was finished but they took other jobs instead of working on ours to completion. Way overpriced for work. Will not use them again. read more

I'll begin by saying that--at the time--we were happy with the work that Mike and his guys did in our condo. But before the job was finished, Mike utterly and completely disappeared on us. He did not disappear with any of our money; he's a good guy, I'm sure, but he didn't finish the job. I should have anticipated something like this would happen when Mike didn't show up for the first appointment we made for the work to start. On another occasion, one of the workmen showed up two hours late. When you take off from work to meet a contractor, you expect (or at least hope) that he will be on time. The work that was done (some simple fixture installation, pot lights, and a track-light system) seemed very good, if slow. When the guys arrived late, that one day of work became two; that means we were living in a mess with no electricity in our kitchen and living room. Mike's men also sawed enormous holes in our drywall, which they do not repair. (A friend of Mike's came over to patch these holes for $250. And we still had to do all of the sanding and painting ourselves, otherwise he would have charged us $500!) Mike was also very haphazard about accounting. I actually had to do all of the math myself and e-mail him repeatedly to figure out what we owed and how he wanted it to be paid. Finally, one fixture remained to be installed on the job, but countless e-mails and phone calls to Mike's cell and his office went unreturned. When I eventually did catch him on the phone, he PROMISED he'd update me on his availability in a week's time. I followed up with him via phone and e-mail, and we got nowhere. After a dozen unreturned attempts over a three-month period, we gave up. We didn't know what we were missing until we took a chance on Wiremasters, which not only charged us about 20% less than Mike, but also patched the walls, and were on time *every visit.* I cannot recommend Wiremasters enough. It pains me to write this, because I'm sure Mike is a great guy. But he totally left us in the lurch . . . like so many other Miami-area contractors. *Sigh.* read more

NO SHOW! Mike totally no showed me twice! He was referred to me by my Cono Association the Akoya, & he no showed twice! Don't waste your time on this guy! He never even called or text me to say he couldn't make it. Very unprofessional. read more

promises the world, doesn't show up when time for the job. very unprofessional. i would recommend you just use someone more dependable.

MIKE WAS A NO SHOW. I called a week in advance to schedule the installation of two pendant lights in my condo. It was confirmed that Mike would be at my condo at 12pm the next week. I received a text the evening before the appointment that I was confirmed. 12pm comes- no Mike. At 1:30, I call the operator and he proceeds to contact Mike, who tells the operator he is still coming out, is running late, and will call me right away to confirm his arrival... 3:30pm and still NO call and NO text. I call the operator again and he says he has no idea where he is- that they just do the scheduling for Mike. So basically I took half a day off work to wait around for someone to not even have the courtesy to call or at least text and say they would be late or not show up. Obviously not a great way to run a business. I never really post reviews but this was really rude so beware if you book him- he may not even bother to show up. Go with a company that values your time. read more

I whole-heartedly recommend Mike's Custom Electric. Mike and his team are first-class experts in their trade - not only do they understand safety, but also aesthetics. Called twice, talked to the phone service twice, no calls ever returned. If I'm calling its because I need the service. Lack of interest is a red flag, I'm moving on to your competitors who answer their phone and return calls. read more

Called on Friday, asked for a guy to come out on Monday. The office staff said the electrician would call on Monday when he was on his way over. Today is Tuesday, still no call. I'd give them some stars, but since they haven't even showed up or called, I don't know how many to give, so... read more

Mike is the best. He solves problems that stump other electricians. My lights no longer buzz AND the transformers no longer burn out because MIKE was smart enough to calculate the loads. read more

Awesome company Super professional. I run a special event catering company and Mike understood that I need my walk in cooler expanded by 4 feet and that he would need to unhook the electric and re-wire the whole thing the same day that the cooler company expanded it. Not only did he get it all done in one day but they did it in the middle of daily operations with out affecting the kitchen. Plus, his guys were super clean and courteous. I would definetlley recommend Mike to anyone who needs a good, affordable electrician. read more

At my request, Mike sent his A-team to my small business to address several electrical issues. They were professional, smart, and efficient. I highly recommend Mike and his team. read more

This is not the first time I've worked with Mike's company, and met him through my BNI networking group. Today he had his crew come to my office and change old fluorescent ceiling lights to new LED's. What a difference! But about his crew: They were totally professional, arrived early, were neat and clean, and cleaned up after they finished in each room - and they were nice guys. We're going to be talking about changing to some new LED's in the showroom next week. Feel free to call if you want to know about Mike - good people. Michael Henry, Allfloors Carpet One. We contacted Mike's about getting some fans installed and wiring fixed. He said he would be around in about an hour at 9 and we waited all day. Never showed up and finally called about 530 and said he couldn't make it. He told us he would be out Saturday morning. So we waited all Saturday morning and never showed. He finally texted us and said he couldn't make it out until Tuesday the next week. Very unreliable. I would give him 0 stars if it was possible. He may be a great electrician but he won't even show up!!! read more

I notice there are some not so great reviews Yelp, which is unfortunate, because I was extremely satisfied with the service I received. We replaced an old fuse box with a newfangled switch box - something I had been avoiding for years. His quote for the job was reasonable, his electrician - Ivan - showed up on time, completed the work, removed the trash and swept the floor. He was courteous and never complained. For those of you have had a lot of work done on their home, you know how rare that is. While Mike himself did not do the job, Ivan knew exactly what he was doing and worked non-stop. Seriously, what more can you expect? I would highly recommend Mike's Custom Electric, and assume that any of the issues the earlier Yelp reviews complain about have been fixed. read more

I am a custom General contractor out here on Fisher Island. I have been using Mike's Custom Electric for over 15 years of continuous reliable service. Mike as a business man is as good as it gets. Mike and his crew were here in record time and completed our work with the very best quality work we could have hoped for.
