I do not recommend buying from Mike. I placed an order--purchasing cigars as a gift for a friend for $700--but later found out that he had already received that exact gift. It is impossible to cancel an order directly through the website. I called the store on the same day I placed the order, but they told me to call back the next day. In the end, it took them four days to issue the refund , and they deducted a 35% late-cancellation fee from the price. This is not a serious business. First time customer - prices were beat I found, added comments I need before Saturday - paid regular shipping no guarantee yet somehow got to me (Fla to NJ) in 3 days plenty of time to drop em in humidor. Product was received in great shape but thought the actual box it was in could have been better suited for the box of cigars which is actuall ly minor but my ocd kicked in - again no biggie. I was sent a moldy Cigar this week. After sending photos, I got told it was in perfect condition (see photo). I ended up asking for a refund and they made me pay for the shipping back and claim they inspected it before it left their facility. They implied that should anything occur during the shipping process (to include bad storage/overhumidification) is not their fault. I dont see it that way and wont be purchasing from them again. Its a dissapointing service seeing as how I didnt ask for a cigar with mold in it, yet they would make me pay for their mistake. Also its heavily damaged and bent, with the wrapper coming off. Firstly this a quite big cigar lounge and you can enjoy your cigar in there very comfortably. They also have a bar just serving coffee, beer and vine. Not too many selections for both however it is a good addition to have when you stay and enjoy your cigar at the lounge. They are serving the vine only in bottles. I almost harassed them by email before purchasing a $550 box of 20 Padron 40th anniversary (my 1st order). Not only did they reply within 30 minutes to each email (Thank you Natalie) but kept being professional all along. I paid for regular shipping and they sent it express! This is a well deserved 5 star review. I just wish they had more stars as they deserve them. This place is a joke - we drove on a Saturday took us 45 minutes to get here, once we arrive we wanted to try out a couple of the premium sampler packs. Unfortunately you can only get the premium sampler packs during the week, you ask for the sampler pack they go back to the warehouse and make it and you're stuck there for 45 minutes. Sol, Is the lead tobacconist she is very very good about her customer-service. She led me around the humidor and gave me a complimentary cigar as it was my 1st time here. I purchased the Groupon with the Cohiba cutter specifically for the cutter. Low and behold, when my order arrived, the packaged contained the Mike's Cigar Cutter that sells for $1 on the website. After my husband opened the package and we noticed the advertised cutter wasn't there, I contacted the company as was told they were currently out of that cutter, but they would ship it out just as soon as they got more in - probably in a couple weeks. Fast forward to the end of February - still haven't received a cutter. I contacted the company again because I saw the Cohiba cutters were for sale on the website. No one ever responded. This review is only regarding online ordering. I gave this only a 1 specifically because the customer service was horrible and on the confirmation email to purchasing two orders, it says the if the order was placed before 1pm Eastern time the order will be shipped on the same day.(which I placed two order before that time) Theses two orders I placed was 10 days(8 business days) prior to Father's Day. The confirmation email also states that the order will be shipped 3 business days upon 'ship' Date. I have placed the orders on a Friday at noon and the order for shipped the following Tuesday. I also called them to confirm I will be getting the orders before Father's Day and the lady was very rude and did not answer any of the open-ended question I had regarding the shipping date. Okay here is an update 10 months after initial review. I received a message via yelp from a public relations to make things 'right' with me die to my past unsatisfied orders. She prepared a gift for me and sent me several premium cigars (my favorite) obviously no charge and a catalog within a couple days. This lady said they are working on the customer service behavioral skills. I will give this another update following my next order. read more

Horrible customer service. I bought a Groupon from this place. After redeeming it, I got an email from their customer service requesting that I pay an additional shipping charge since I live in Hawaii. I paid it via Paypal and patiently waited for my order to arrive. 2 weeks later, I still hadn't received my order so I sent an email to Mike's customer service asking for the status of my order. What followed was a ridiculous string of emails that clearly showed the incompetency of the customer service staff at Mike's. Although I said in my emails that I paid for the shipping weeks ago, they kept replying that shipping to Hawaii was extra and that I needed to pay the charge before they would ship. Even after forwarding the email confirmation from Paypal that clearly showed that I paid the shipping, they still couldn't understand that I HAD ALREADY PAID IT. After sending an extremely frustrated email back to them stating that my credit card had been charged for the shipping, they FINALLY understood, apologized, and shipped my order. I don't understand why getting my order was like pulling teeth with these people. Although they did apologize and immediately ship out my order once they started using their brains, it was by far the most difficult Groupon voucher redemption process I have ever experienced. Their customer service sucks, they have no common sense, and they should really train their people better. read more

I have used Mike's for several years now & after a couple glitches, yes with Customer Service's, they always made it good. One problem I believe is a bit of a language barrier, I believe the majority speak Spanish and have limited English skills. They can seem hard to contact at times, but as with any Spanish culture, they are not on "hurry, hurry, hurry American time." They are very relaxed, unless you complain. Again, I believe this to be a cultural thing. They argue, that's a way of life. Anyway, get beyond your, hurry up attitude & you'll enjoy the cigars, (they have a hand-rolled, in house by "El Maestro", the Master Cuban Blender that is great for the $$) and you will enjoy the overall savings at Mike's. Now that I've read what the bad reviews are about this place I'm not sure if I should start telling about my great experience with it (both at the store and over the phone) or by telling to all this lame Groupon people to find something better to do as their reviews and complaints are just ridiculous. Anyways, I guess I should just stick to my own experience: the store has a huge cigars selection, especially in the walk-in humi room. I think they even have a lot more upstairs cause when I couldn't find what I was looking for they got it from there. The bar is OK, a couple big screens, just a pity that they only have beer and wine though. The ambiance is quiet so I would definitely go back to sit on a couch, relax and enjoy a good cigar and a beer (they even let me bring my own!) read more

Humidor/selection was smaller than I thought (wall size mirror makes it look double), and they would not honor a Groupon I had purchased ($40 worth of cigars for $20). I still made my full purchase, but was annoyed at their explanation that "we told Groupon to change that". At least I was able to have the deal refunded. The lady who answered was very nice and said she would call me back. When she did she asked if I was the one who opened the package (which I responded I was) when she placed me on hold again. The man who came to the phone was an asshole, plain and simple. He threatened to have the post office send an investigator to my house to investigate the box and in not so many ways accused me of being a liar, especially since this was the first time I had purchased from the company. I asked to speak to someone over him and was told I wasn't speaking to anyone else. After being accused of being a liar AND being refused to talk to someone else I stated "I wanted a return" and was also told no...I normally shop around for the best price online when ordering my cigars and was pretty excited about having found this company given the prices...but what's the point if the only part of the order shows up AND you get talked to like that on the phone....I am a Firefighter / Paramedic of 19 years...I won't stand being called a liar read more

I was advised to try this cigar bar by a friend when traveling to the Miami area for the holidays. We're lucky in Houston to have a selection of great tobacconists and lounges, and I came in with high hopes, bringing my father along. I wish we'd gone to his suggested tobacconist instead. 1. The large selection I'd been promised was a walk in humidor the size of a large walk in closet. 2. The restroom was out of order. 3. No wi fi for customers. 4. Their seating is not the comfiest 5. When we asked the gentlemen at the counter if they sold hats he informed us that they did, and said he'd bring one by for us to look at. He never came back. 6. The prices are fair and the cigars are properly kept The service is lackluster, the selection is relatively small (Neptune Cigars a short drive to Fort Lauderdale blows them out of the water with a walk in humidor the size of a house), and there is a total lack of amenities. If you happen across them by chance and need a quick smoke it's fine, but I wouldn't travel there expecting a great experience. read more

Mike's was a hit! The cigar selection was awesome in their large walk in humidor as well as the service. The prices are more than fair. They offer a variety of wines, bottled beers and an espresso machine. It's spacious but not too big. There's seating for maybe 25 people or so. It's 6 pm on a Saturday now and it's not overly crowded. They also play a wide variety of music which is not common in most cigar bars. It's 2 minutes from the beach and there's a ton of restaurants near by. Parking was also easy. I recommend any cigar smoker to stop by and I'll defiantly be coming back! read more
