Hands down, probably some of the tastiest oysters you can catch when you're staying at this resort. It doesn't even look like you need any sort of license since its private property. The rooms are very old fashioned and they had cabin style beds so we needed sleeping bags to sleep but both nights I did sleep comfortably. The oysters were unreal. Salty, large, and very easy to cook. My only complaint is how we paid. I saw that they had a very disorganized office staff and I had a ton of issues as to how we were charged. We had the option of paying in cash which we did and we had a receipt for. But after our trip to the resort, we got charged again through my card. I had to spend probably the whole day trying to get everything sorted out to which they gave me a refund on that extra charge. But the next day they had charged me again accidentally and I had to repeat that same process over. Not a great experience but the oysters were unreal. I would absolutely go back next time but I probably wouldn't pay cash ever again.

This was my vacation place to go to a yearly basis. I live in California and adore this place for many years. After this go around, I will never return again. The level of rudeness I encountered felt like I am an unwanted roommate that is crashing the home. I am paying customer. I didn't argue with her but I kept notes on every encounter. She is not accommodating. She has the attitude of " it is what is what it is, deal with it." But the bigger point is we were not asking for much. It was super turn off from the beginning. I usually stay in the waterfront cabin each year. However, we brought our kids so we stayed upstairs from the fire pit area. The rooms had an uninviting odor. The table wobbled so much we did not used it. The TV did not work as our kids would have loved it to put them to sleep. But overall the view is beautiful. When I was staying here years back, the cabins were about $100 bucks. The prices have gone up. But that's understandable. But each year, she gets worse and worse. Another point is I said "she." Mike has always been so nice and accommodating. I see her daughter with her 2 kids playing. They eventually played with my children. It's a great site to watch kids happy!

This is our second time coming here. We stay in the "Franklin" RV at the end of the resort past the cabins. It is huge - 40 feet long with living room couch pull out bed, full kitchen and fridge, big bathroom with shower, and separate master bedroom with queen, could probably sleep 6 if you needed to. They even updated the camper since we came in 2020- new floors and fridge so that was a pleasant surprise. It's a quaint little resort and the staff is really friendly. Only issue this time is the hot tub broke but they gave us access to one of the cabin jacuzzis which was nice of them! We've come during off-season both times so it's really quiet but I can imagine it gets really busy in the summer

Cabins were great even though The door fell off twice to the bathroom it just runs on rails and a plank of wood basically covers it. But you should totally go there because the view. there is a great dock and you can rent kayaks and yard games wonderful deck with fire pit. I really don't understand the bad reviews because it's great and the service is great too. Diving is good! if you are a diver you should go because there's a lot to see. even saw two sea otters and a wolf eel. There is a oyster farm too!

DO NOT STAY HERE. By far the WORST hotel experience I've ever had. My reservations/check in time was messed up. I got there at the time I was told to check in and then was told my check in wasn't for hours later in the day. Aside from that there was blood stains and black hair on the pillows, more hair and dirt on the sheets when I pulled back the covers. If the sheets and pillows were washed and changed then there's no reason they should have dirt or hair on them period! The front office was closed so I couldn't tell anyone until the morning and when I was able to tell the front office lady in the morning she came in the room and looked at the pillows and sheets even said her self that "I trust my house keepers change the sheets and I will talk to them" Keep in mind this is during a time where we have a virus pandemic going around and clearly there's minimal effort in cleaning their hotel rooms. I asked if there was any way I could speak to a manager, the answer was no, then I asked if I could have a refund and the lady said she could only give me a discount if I came to stay again she's goes "I'll remember you, you're pretty" (what person in their right mind would want to stay there again) Oh and not to mention they have a rusty hose faucet sticking out of the ground that's not easy to see and not covered and I tripped over it and cut my foot pretty bad.

We decided to give this place a try since they had a private oyster and clam beach. However when we booked the place they told us about a cabin that sleeps 9 with water view. A CABIN ??? Hell NOooo , kid you not it was smaller than my one bedroom apartment back then. No water view and I have people above me which I can hear EVERYTHING. They literally crammed 4 bunked beds and a kitchenette in this tiny ass room with wires hanging everywhere which is a fire hazaand spider webbed all over the place. Dirty dishes and smelly old sponge. I mean for $900 I might as well booked an Air BNB to be honest. Worsted place I have ever stayed at. Will definitely not be back ever or recommend to anyone unless you just want to waste money.

This place is great. Simple and perfect. Literal waterfront cabins (tide depending). It's the beach house you want to own. A quick ferry ride and drive from Seattle for a nice escape.

Ire from out glamping tent in the morning! Water like glass, so gorgeous!!!

We stayed at Mikes Beach Resort this weekend, and if I could give it 6 stars I would! If you think you're coming here to be at a bougie resort, go elsewhere. If you want a super cabin-y, rustic, fun, canal experience? This is your place! We rented one of the glamping tents on the water. It was stocked which what we needed, and even when we were missing a wine opener, one of the owners let us borrow her personal one to use! We had a private bathroom - the water pressure was a little lack luster, butttt we can look past that haha Speaking of the customer service, we had nothing but great run ins with everyone working. They also had live music on Saturday, and the performer- Chris Eakes- was AMAZING!!!! Played so many amazing 90s alternative covers and his voice was unreal. There was also a seafood pop up, where you could order fresh (caught that day) clams and oysters, along with crab, salmon, and rock fish ceviche. Everything we had was so fresh and was amazing! And this is coming from and ex chef, and someone who has worked in the service industry for 15 years! All in all, our experience was amazing. We have even talked about making this our yearly anniversary trip! We will for sure be back!

The actual resort is much much different than the website. Not much relation between the two. Well the cabin was cute-ish but the environment... Not so much Plus, the charges are outrageous and opaque. I was charged $430.95 for two nights. There was a $50 deposit and a $20 cleaning charge neither of which showed up on my receipt. I had to question both of those. The service was terrible with the hostess actually yelling at me because I couldn't see my way down to the cabins. There was an offer of 10% off for veterans and when I got there was told, only 10% one night 5% the next. I did get the damage deposit back as well as the 10% for both nights. But you can tell from the picture there is no reason to charge anywhere near this price nor charge a damage deposit.

This was our first time at Mike's Beach Resort but it will not be our last. Our family rented two cabins my wife and I in one and her four cousins in another. Two in a cabin is the perfect number four is a bit cozy. The cabins are rustic but very nice. Laying in bed listening to the waves lap against the bulkhead 15' from your head is very relaxing to someone used to hearing dogs bark and cars driving by. The only issues that I have is the 10:00 AM check out but I knew what I was getting into before hand and we were supposed to have a hot plate in the room and had a electric skillet instead (we brought food and pots based on the hotplate). There is plenty of silverware, dishes, cups, wine glasses, etc for each room. The sinks are a little small to wash dishes in so I used the pot we brought instead. The reason to come hear is for the views and the shellfish. We got our fill of oysters in 30 mins and had plenty to take home and enjoyed the views as the spring Washington weather permitted. Each cabin has a grass area with a table, 4 chairs, and small charcoal grill but there is a great communal area with two fire pits, plenty if seating, and a children's play area. If you are looking for a nice weekend getaway on the canal give Mike's a try you won't be disappointed (unless you are expecting a spa and resort then you are on your own).

    Bathroom--need I show more?

DO NOT be fooled by the beautiful photographs and slick website verbiage. Ok--cabin was sort of clean but still the entire experience had an "icky" factor nonetheless. The prices are too high for rusty outdoor furniture, junky yards, peeling surfaces. They say fully furnished but we had no stove top just an icky BBQ. Even details like coffee maker filters--too large for the appliance--really?! Fridge had no door on the freezer and the fridge barely kept our white wine drinkable. The natural beauty is all around yet marred by this junky place.

Perhaps this is the front of the hotel? ‍

We were in room 25, with a gorgeous view of the Sound. We had two queens (haha, so very appropriate...!). The mattresses seemed new and were comfortable. The room was clean, the sheets fresh, the kitchen area clean and stocked with Keurig cups (well, that's a bit of a downer, but not their fault). The room was very nicely decorated with all kinds of quirky prints and hangings, making the room cheerful and fun. The TV was quite large (55" ?). The halls and other common areas were clean and well decorated, again cheerful and fun. The grounds include a parking area for RV's which was well organized, neat and tidy, with a couple green areas and some cabins on the North side, but that wasn't the main event... ! They have a very pretty little stream that even had a few flowers when we visited and which empties into the sound, where the estuarial mix of fresh and salt waters attracts birds (and fish? need to find out!). They have a small pebble beach with steps leading down where they said it is fine to launch a kayak or two! To the South there is a power plant outlet! My excitement might puzzle those of you who don't fish in Winter, but not only is it deep and fast running, but may be warm enough to attract fish. It, like everything else we saw about the waters, appeared clean and free of trash, as one might typically see nearby RV camping. And..., There are some lovely businesses nearby at HoodCanal. We had coffee there at a very nice little shop (HoodCanal Coffee, who'd have thunk it?) and then ventured next door to the little wine shop, which was FULL of curios, art, and so many lovely little things. The proprietress was wonderfully chatty and really helped fill us in on the area. And that leads us to the people... ! The nice lady running the hotel was out of the office (pro tip: there is a call button to the right of the office door that pages her, so just tap that), but popped up quickly. She was very friendly and, when we ran out of coffee creamer, which we mentioned in passing in the hall, she told me not to bother coming down the stairs to the office and that she would bring it right up, which she did. She also had more information on the local area that was very helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised and will certainly be back... with kayak(s)!

Don't use it to hide behind a poor review just to be a stinky butt. OK. Let's get to MY review. Solid 4-star. This is a lovely lodge built in 1926. Nestled right off the lake, it boasts some lovely pieces of its history with beautiful view of Lake Quinalt. The lodge itself is lovely. Now, keep in mind, it's 99 years old and has adapted to many years of human evolution. Yep, not everything is prefectly fitted but they make it work. The huge roaring fireplace was a lovely place to nestle by and enjoy a cocktail. The bar is a bit expensive but again, we're in the middle of the forest. We aren't in a metro... everything has to be trucked in. The restaurant is lovely. Chef, kudos to you for what you serve considering being hours from the nearest large town! The menu is smaller but what they do, they do it well. Again, we're in the middle of the forest, everything has to be trucked in... and probably some staff! The community is tiny and I'm sure there are plenty of challenges maintaining the amount of staff they need to maintain the lodge at the level they do. I had the chicken for dinner which was absolutely lovely. It was presented beautifully and served piping hot! We'd absolutely go back again. Now, I'd want to visit in the summer when it isn't pitch black outside by 4:30 PM. I would love a dinner at the Lodge in July when you could watch the sun sit over the Lake. Go, enjoy, it's rustic, it's a little kitschy. This is not your 5-star Michelin restaurant... this is a lodge, in the forest, on a lake. It's lovely!

First of all, the lady at the general store (main office) is incredibly friendly and warm. We stayed in the Angler's Den cabin and called ahead a few times with questions. She answered all of them and was very kind and helpful. The cabin came stocked with pots, plans, dishes, silverware, wine opener/bottler opener and really pretty much everything you would need. The cabin was actually quite large and had a true living room, kitchen (with large refrigerator), bathroom, and separate bedroom. There were multiple TV's within the cabin as well. Plus a large comfortable recliner chair! The cabin also had an air conditioning unit, which was much needed during the month of July. Not all cabins have AC, but most do. Offut Lake Resort is also in a densely wooded area with plenty of tall trees, so the shade throughout the resort keeps it much cooler. Even though the temps were in the high 80's when we were there, it was surprisingly shaded and comfortable throughout. The actual resort is nestled within a few neighborhoods near the lake. It is a quiet area and everyone seemed friendly. It was very safe and we were able to take our one year old son on a few long walks throughout the bordering neighborhoods. The resort has a playground with swings, a basketball court, and a larger grass area for other recreational activities. The general store/main office sells items you might need (or have forgot), and also sells beverages such as soda/juice/beer. The Lady of the Lake Restaurant is fantastic and is truly one of the best things about this small resort. It is incredibly convenient to be able to order takeout food for lunch or dinner from the restaurant and bring it back to your cabin. The restaurant is a short 3-5 minute walk from the camp sites and cabins. All of the food we had there was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The food was higher quality and tastier than what you might find at most bar & grills. Eating at the restaurant is also a nice option, and there is a bar there as well. It is a busy restaurant and seems to be a popular place with the locals. The fish & chips were delicious and something we would recommend! They also had a band play at the restaurant on Friday night. The lake is very scenic and tranquil. It is a shallow lake making it fairly warm and the water seemed clean. There is a small grass beach front area with rock wall that leads down to the lake. There are steps to walk down to get to the lake. We would recommend bringing water socks (or some type of water shoes) because the rocks at the bottom of the lake are a little harder to stand on. We brought sand toys, but then when we got there we realized there was no sand or beach area. Not a big deal at all, but just something to be aware of. It is a great lake to bring floaties to and float around. Next time I go back, I'll bring floaties with an anchor to anchor out in the middle of the lake. You can also fish off the dock or rent boats for the day. This is an underrated lake resort for people in Western Washington! I have lived in the Seattle area my whole life and I've never heard anyone talk about this place! The prices are very reasonable, it is a short trek from the Seattle area, and it feels like a true lake getaway. We stayed for two nights, but it would be easy to spend three or four nights there, especially if you rent boats and spent the day out on the lake. The Lady of the Lake restaurant is a great place to end the day and have drinks/dinner. This is a fun family resort, but would also be a fun option for couples or groups of friends. We stayed there in July during a nice streak of sunshine, but this could be a fun place to go in the Spring or Fall as well.

The lady that waited on me is very nice and help me put my arm band on. I went down to the dock. The dock is in very good shape with a new crafts meaning boats. Also, they have some new seats that have been repaired. It is very clean and wonderful fishing. I limited and was very happy. I've never been to the restaurant, but it looked very sharp and very clean. I might try that soon if you wanna place to go and have some dock fishing and it's very quiet This is the place to go.

We stayed in the cabin room and it had a fireplace and a partial view of the ocean. But the best part was the restaurant. The food, wine and service was amazing! The only thing I don't care for is there are no hooks of any sort to hang your clothes on in the whole room. Especially, in the bathroom where personally an under the sink cubbie for the hotel robe doesn't cut it. The only 2 rods to hang things on are the towel rack in with the tub & toilet area, and the closet out in the main room. Very inconvenient. The outer portion of bathroom where the sink is, only has the cubbie. Initially that is filled with towels & bathrobes. The lack of a towel rack near the sink seems to be a growing trend at motels. What's with that? Otherwise, so far I've enjoy the in room Keurig coffee service and I'm impressed by the room's addition of wine glasses to the clear coffee cups & water glasses. The downside is the cups are a small 8 oz and I had to cycle twice for a decent amount of coffee. View great! Not sure the rest is worth it.

We booked 3 cottages at Chito Beach Resort in Sekiu, Washington. My brother and his wife stayed in The Birdhouse (whose deck officially became our favorite hangout spot) We spent many memorable hours there, enjoying the ever changing views of the sea, wildlife, and spectacular sunsets. My sister stayed in The Wolf Den. I stayed in the cottage adjacent to hers, The Lighthouse.  I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Lighthouse Cottage. The bed was soooo comfy. Water pressure was great. So much attention was paid to every charming little detail. Nothing was overlooked.  And that view!  On Saturday night the owners, Tamara and Matt had a little get together around the bonfire with all of the guests at Chito Beach. (There are a total of 6 cottages) They were wonderful and gracious hosts who served us beverages and DELICIOUS appetizers. They made us feel very welcome there.  After I got back home, I sorted through the MANY photos that I'd taken, and decided which ones to post on Facebook.  As gorgeous as some of them are, I think some of the pictures of the sunsets at Chito Beach are even more stunning than my photos of the Cape.  Especially on our last night there. Truly magical and almost otherworldly Our time there was an experience that our family will treasure forever.

No working GPS or signal, and I had only booked this place on Expedia prior to my trip, since everything in Forks was fully booked. But let me just say... I ended up LOVING it! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and had everything I could possibly need... Fireplace, WiFi, kitchenette, fridge, TV... you name it! I especially loved all the windows that let in tons of natural light, and the porch out front was such a nice touch. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even offered me an upgrade for just $15, which I really appreciated. The location itself was absolutely stunning... Surrounded by mountains and overlooking a beautiful lake, it felt like the perfect escape. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway, this cabin is it. I was not disappointed in the slightest and honestly can't wait to come back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! I enjoyed waking up to the sunset over the lake. The room was nice and cozy and the bed was very comfortable. Next to the front desk at Rain Forest Resort Village is a small general store that has pretty much anything you may need. There is also a gift shop and laundromat. The staff here is great and very welcoming. They pointed out a couple of hiking trails for me to do that were nearby. I was able to do the Quinault Rain Forest hike and the short hike to the World's Largest Spruce Tree near the lake. Lake Quinault and the Salmon House Restaurant are across the street from Rain Forest Resort Village. The downtown area of Quinault is just a short drive away. Merriman Falls isn't too far away either if you want to check that out. Overall, my stay here was wonderful and relaxing. You can't beat the gorgeous views of Lake Quinault from your room.
