I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor. I paid one hundred dollars a night for a good, spacious site which I specifically reserved in advance. But when I arrived, they gave me spot number seventy six, which was absolutely terrible. It was way too small, and the distance between the hookup post and the site next to it was not even enough for me to open my awning. I was practically sandwiched in with no room to enjoy the space. Definitely not what I paid for. To make matters worse, the staff in the office were rude and completely unhelpful. When I asked why I did not get the site I reserved, they told me I needed to pay an additional fee if I actually wanted to keep it, even though I had already prepaid at the time of reservation. Instead, they downgraded me to a tiny, cramped spot and acted like it was no big deal. The spot I originally reserved was the good, spacious one I selected when I booked. What I was moved to was one of the worst sites in the entire place. It is unbelievable that they think this is acceptable customer service. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this campground to anyone. read more

this place is a crap hole of a rv park, we have been all over the world and stayed places i thought were bad but this one is the worst then when you decide you dont like it they keep your money but who cares right the crap staff need to get paid some how so enjoy our money because youll never get anymore read more

Premium prices for a not so premium Rv/camping experience. The staff is great but they let all the criminals stay here. There is no actual enforcement of the park rules or policies. The city road construction is atrocious with random closures and middle of the night construction. Internet services are rip off and so are the guest services. There are no other RV Parks so you get stuck with this. read more

We stayed there in September for 3 weeks. The new owners have really improved the resort. There are spots for all types of rigs and size. You can boondock or Evan set up a tend. Well kept with amenities. We have a 45'Newmar. I suspect they are fully booked for next summer. Walking distance to sports bar and Mexican restaurant and Gig Harbor is walkable. We've Been Coming Since 2018 -- and It Just Keeps Getting Better (Like a Fine Boxed Wine) We started staying here back in 2018, when the place was a little... let's just say "vintage charm with a side of rough edges." But ever since Sun Outdoors -- and especially Jenna Torquato and her awesome team -- took over, the improvements have been as dramatic as my GPS when I miss a turn. This park has really turned around, and it shows. Facilities (aka: Where You Hope It's Clean) Let's start with the basics. The water closets (that's fancy talk for bathrooms) are clean, modern, and stocked -- no horror movie showers here! If your rig isn't self-contained, no worries -- the toilets and showers are solid and smell like cleanliness, not regret. There's even a small workout room, for those of us trying to outrun the effects of s'mores and second breakfasts. A couple treadmills, bikes, and some free weights -- enough to trick your brain into thinking you're on a fitness kick, at least. And yes, there's a laundromat that actually works -- no fighting with quarters or dryers that just blow warmish air. It's clean and reliable, perfect for those of us who pack enough clothes for 3 days and stay for 3 weeks. RV Sites (Because Size Does Matter) My setup is a 60-foot behemoth -- truck and trailer -- and there's plenty of room. I can even squeeze in the Jeep next to it without performing RV parking yoga. Yes, there are smaller spots for the more nimble rigs, and even larger ones if you've got a full-blown land yacht. There's a good mix of pull-through and back-in sites, and here's the kicker: I've never had to bust out the lumber pile to get level. My auto-level system works like a dream here -- and that alone makes this park a keeper. Water and power? Clean, stable, and no mystery outages. Your air conditioner won't scream for mercy. Location (Construction? Yes. Chaos? Nope.) Yes, in 2025 there's been some street construction just outside the park due to a bridge retrofit. But let's be honest -- that's more on the city and less on the park. It's not disruptive unless your idea of peace and quiet is the sound of absolute nothingness (in which case, try Mars). The location itself is gold -- close to Costco, YMCA (pickleball, anyone?), downtown Gig Harbor, and not far from ferries to Seattle or Canada. So if you suddenly decide you need maple syrup or a Space Needle selfie, you're good to go. Pets & People (Both Welcome!) The park is super pet-friendly -- my dog gives it two paws up. Lots of walking space, and the kind of place where other RVers actually say "hi" instead of pretending they don't see you when you walk by. And speaking of friendly -- the staff is the real gem here. Jenna and her crew have clearly put in hard work and heart over the past few years, and the vibe reflects that. They're welcoming, helpful, and probably could teach a master class on "How Not to Be a Grumpy Camp Host." Final Dump (Station) Thoughts: If you're rolling through Gig Harbor and want a place that's clean, convenient, and genuinely welcoming, this is it. Whether you're in a van, a fifth wheel, or something so big it has a zip code, this park can handle it. Stop in, flash your best road-weary smile, and let Jenna's team return the favor with a warm welcome and a level site. You'll leave cleaner, happier, and possibly with fewer gray tank horror stories. We've stayed at this campground for over 10 years (mostly under previous ownership - which wasn't great). The staff at Sun Outdoors is friendly and the sites are nice albeit closer together than most of the other parks we stay in. The park is in a nice location close to downtown Gig Harbor. Unlike the previous owners you can reserve online which makes it so much easier. My biggest complaint is the price. This is by far (at least 2x) more expensive than the typical park we stay in. Over $100 per night for two nights ($220 or so). There is also no cable TV but they have a free video library which we didn't use. For the price there should be cable TV (and a perhaps a masseuse who stops by daily for free massages lol). Note: some of the negative reviews complain about the bathrooms being under construction and having to use temporary bathrooms which reportedly were not clean. Some reviews complaining about "3 bathrooms for 115 sites". Although whether there are 3 restrooms or 23 they should be clean - of the 115 sites arguably 110 rigs parked in these sites has a suitable bathroom and shower built in with sewer hookups so I don't think it's a fair complaint. I never visited the bathrooms on site because I have my own and I'm sure most people that stay here will say the same. We'll be back, but not as much as we used to stay here since it's too pricey to stay more frequently. read more

Port-a-potty paradise. You have arrived at one of the filthiest dirty RV spots on the Olympic peninsula. The bathroom's smell like a Port-a-potty because the management makes no effort to have them cleaned. While we were there, they had NO soap, paper towels or toilet paper. The worst was when we reported to the management they said, the cleaning people didn't show up and basically it is what it is...post a review or whatever you feel like doing...that it is out of their control....like the inmates have taken over the asylum. For the price you are far better off to stay at a campground. Anywhere is better than this place. Also there is no playground, the sites are so close together you have to step over your neighbors sewer hose. The bathrooms are under construction so you only have access to 3 Port-a-potties for 100 plus sites. The Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor location is a dumpster fire. Go elsewhere if you have a choice. read more

The spots were great and there is a great dog run. The site is a great location to town. According to RVparky (app) it said their was a pool, there wasn't and they advertise a playground which they are still waiting for permits. Good spot , no amenities. read more

This place has only 3 very dirty toilets in a temporary trailer for 115 rv spaces. Equally dirty showers are included. They are not maintained, are filthy, have no toilet paper. I thought I would be clever and use the paper towels. Everyone else beat me to it. My ultimate backup plan, going through the trash for something to wipe with, was less than satisfactory since every piece of trash was poop-covered already. This place would even be worse without the poop trailer. In that case it would only have 2 heads for 115 spaces! But, those are locked and "under renovation." The rv spaces are crammed together, and you can't get away from sitting outside within a few feet of the neighbor's sewer hose. If you have any choice at all, go somewhere else! A rest area would be better. We expected better, since our other Sun Outdoor resorts have been much better. This one is a dumpster fire We're very sorry that we have 8 days left here... read more
