    Nice view

This is a good choice for a low cost motel on the Hood Canal. As another reviewer mentioned, our room had a "funky smell" which dissipated with fresh air. It's a little noisy with RV's on one side and highway 101 on the other side but not too bad. It's got a long list of rules and under penalty of death, don't shuck an oyster in the room. LOL Contrary to a previous review, it is not dog friendly. So how often to big trucks go roaring down the highway 30 feet from your front door? So often that after an hour, you won't even notice them. ha ha Check it out.

    Wide open Hood Canal views.

We loved our stay in our RV in primo site #5! Gorgeous views. Such nice and clean bathroom/shower facilities to use. My parents loved the amenities in motel room #20.

We stayed in in a king deluxe room booked through one of the 3rd party sites with a slightly better price than what they were advertising. We had a perfect view of the canal from the room but the front door was right off the highway which was a bit noisy but not distracting in April. In this area, that just seems to be the price you pay for the water view. Room was much larger then expected, came with a mini fridge, 2 sinks, balcony, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer & pull out couch. They have wi-fi, laundry facilities a clubhouse and sell fire wood and ice on-site. Downside to our stay was the shower, the drain was clogged so every shower would turn into a bath, since the office isn't manned it wasn't convenient to report it as we came in went. Since it was just a quick weekend trip, we didn't make a deal out of it. They have a posted phone number to call if you need someone. This is more motel style so no in-room services like a traditional hotel. If you need something, you'll need to track someone down. Didn't explore the grounds much but they have these super cute cabins available also, I'd love to stay in one of those the next time we make a trip to Hood Canal. This place is close to a number of beaches and not too far from Lk. Kokanee.

What can I say about this RV Resort, except AWESOME!! We will definitely keep this as our go-to place on the Hood Canal/Puget Sound. Pretty much every camp site faces the water. The pricing was very reasonable. The facilities were extremely clean. The grounds were impeccable. The staff was very accommodating and friendly! And on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you are allowed to dig for oysters and clams right off their Beach at low tide, with some restrictions and the proper licensing, of course. The staff also have all tools and knowledge to help you, which we needed. I would definitely stay here again, and again and again!

Our stay in the king suite room was delightful! It was clean, cozy and the view was stunning. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere quiet and quaint. The only down fall was the highway noise. It was pretty loud but not terribly disrupting. The calmness and serenity from the waterfront made up for it but I wasn't expecting it to be literally right off the highway. I will return! It was wonderful overall

Everything about this place is top-notch. From my check-in with Host Jim to my entire stay. Everyone is friendly and the views, wildlife and location are tough to beat. The RV spots are in great shape and well-positioned to maximize the views. Beach access is great and made it easy for us to take our standup paddle boards on the water. The place is also very dog friendly with well-maintained grounds.

The view from our room (25).

My friends and I spent the night after our wine tasting at Hoodsport Winery. The waterfront is a quaint place with clean rooms and courteous staff. There are spots for RVs and cabins available, but we stayed in a suite with double beds. There is a kitchenette, but no utensils so we found that kind of silly. Overall, good experience and willing to stay here if we are in this area.

When I first walked in, a sign said to seat yourself, but it was my 1st time here and from the entrance to the next room with seating & bar to the outside deck seating, not sure what was open, & the 2 servers both seen me & smiled but turned away to each other then other things, so I had to directly approach them to ask if it was ok to sit outside where a live band was playing, almost felt like between the 2, the one that ended up serving me lost on deciding who should. Was very busy with a live band playing some good music outside on the deck overlooking the lake, waitress that did finally take care of me was very pleasant but very busy going back & forth with everyone, seem more for serving drinks than food, I only seen the 2 servers & it was full & busy inside & outside where I was sitting. It was obvious getting something to eat was going to take a bit of time for as long as it took just for a glass of water which was very refreshing, & being asked for my order, so 2nd place I tried & getting late, after 7 pm, so I left that place. Menu & other reviews looked very good, maybe bad timing on my part or should have sat inside, or got quicker service asking for alcohol, I don't know, but coming here just for something to eat might do better during normal meal time hours. I realize some places work better having reservations, some respond better to locals or regulars, service can be challenging not having a host or short staffed, but if I'm not going to my usual haunts, did not feel an immediate appeal for an impulse dining moment here, felt like I was just taking up space here so not coming back...

The tower rooms are very conveniently attached to the casino and easy to get back-and-forth to your room. If you stay in a Resort Room, that building is not attached and you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the casino. I would say that that's the only downfall during the winter time of staying over there. But that is where the pool is so it just depends on what you're looking for at your stay. I have no complaints about the room, very clean and nice decor. My husband wished there was room service for breakfast the next morning but that is not available. I also wish they had valet parking. There is not nearly enough parking in the parking lot so if you don't find parking, you have to park in the parking garage and then walk all the way around back in to the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and the checkout process was easy. The second part of this review is going to be on the service from my work holiday party. The room was beautifully set up and the food was delicious. The staff that were coming around refilling water and taking plates were very attentive and friendly. We really liked Richard. The one employee that we encountered was the bartender assigned to our room. My first encounter from her I thought she was just having a bad day and I let it go. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Not even a smile. But as the night went on people started talking and it seemed everyone was having a not so good encounter from Robyn. She did not ID anyone all night, except my coworker that asked for a mocktail. She was rude to some people and unprofessional to others. It just progressively got worse. Yes the management will be reaching out to the contact they have at the casino to let them know. I was just so taken back about how somebody could go out of their way to be so rude at a fun holiday party. Other than that, the experience was great and I would highly recommend renting an event room there. Is it worth the drive?...yes

The only thing I don't care for is there are no hooks of any sort to hang your clothes on in the whole room. Especially, in the bathroom where personally an under the sink cubbie for the hotel robe doesn't cut it. The only 2 rods to hang things on are the towel rack in with the tub & toilet area, and the closet out in the main room. Very inconvenient. The outer portion of bathroom where the sink is, only has the cubbie. Initially that is filled with towels & bathrobes. The lack of a towel rack near the sink seems to be a growing trend at motels. What's with that? Otherwise, so far I've enjoy the in room Keurig coffee service and I'm impressed by the room's addition of wine glasses to the clear coffee cups & water glasses. The downside is the cups are a small 8 oz and I had to cycle twice for a decent amount of coffee. View great! Not sure the rest is worth it.

There are tons of spots. But I had a disappointing time at the resort. I only wanted to sit in the hot springs for a bit. The employees were fine that day. However the next day, my car didn't start, and I had to walk to the resort to use a phone since there was no reception. The same person was there but completely wrapped up in a conversation with someone, so it was awkward to pull her away. She told me the nearest reception was at the Salmon Cascades two miles up, or we could use the phone in the corner. There were instructions on the phone to use it, but it didn't work. So I had to give up on that, and they were still talking so casually. They really didn't care about what was happening at all. Then I looked it up and realized the walk to Salmon Cascades was actually five miles away, but I was ignored when I brought this up. I guess it was really important those two caught up. If I were to walk into literally any restaurant (which the resort has) or business, and I needed help with an emergency, I would expect to get help. It's just the human thing to do. Most people would help. But maybe the resort needs help with helping its guests, so here are my suggestions as a former hostess: - Train employees for someone in need of emergency services and give them up to date information on the phone and make sure they know the area. If there's no service, they need to take responsibility as a hub to help travelers feel safe especially when there are bears are everything out there! Plus it's just hospitality to know the area to help people out who are lost. It leaves a good impression, too. - Take a guests concern seriously and work with them to find a solution, however trivial it may seem. - Lower the prices while you're at it. Don't gatekeep the experience for rich tourists. Until these things are changed, the resort is currently a soulless cashgrab, in an area with such sacred indigenous meaning...

At Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort is one freshwater pool and three 100°F mineral hot spring soaking pools. The spring water comes from melting snow and rain. Water seeps through cracks in the sedimentary rocks where it mixes with gasses coming from cooling volcanic rocks. Then the mineralized spring waters rise to the surface through the cracks to create these pools. I was able to walk around and check out the mineral pools.
