Saturday Aug 10th walked in at 4:23pm to get my son a haircut. Only one customer in the place getting a haircut with no one in line. The employee in first chair looks at his watch and said they're closed, when the sign on the door said 5pm. Mind you he was available with no one in his chair. I could understand if it was 5:55 but to turn away business with roughly 40 minutes left during normal business hours is outrageous. Went in for the first time today and had an older Hispanic gentleman cut my hair absolutely messed it up then threw on a bunch of gell and told me that my hair would be unmanageable without gell. I have now gone to Mike's Barbershop a few times and feel I have a semi-good grasp on the shop. Now, this is NOT like Sports Clips or any of those other chain hair cutting establishments. This is a legit Barbershop, with people who love to cut, style and shave hair. Cuts: For myself, I usually do a low fade, skin on the sides, and a trim up top. This does leave a lot of room for imagination as I have never had the same haircut. The barbers will change the length they cut and the level for "low", but I have never been disappointed with a cut here. Shave: I have done the shave once and won't do it again. I have extremely sensitive skin and the gentlemen who gave me mine really hurt my skin and neck. It's probably fine for those who don't have skin like a tissue, but alas I do. I NEED TOUGHER SKIN DARN IT! Atmosphere: Like I said in the beginning, this is a legit Barbershop with the old school chairs, the attitude that makes you feel rushed but cared for, and just a no non-sense approach. I love it. I don't have to make appointments but they do have that option. They have chairs available and wait times that are appropriate. This is the absolute worst barber I have been to by a mile. The customer service was not only rude but disrespectful. The haircut itself was impressive as butchering it further would have been a feat. With full reference images and key terminology used this comedians masterpiece got laughs out the door with my luscious locks. My regular barber was busy and found this place was the only one not booked out... I now see why. Next time I will use a saw and mirror when in a pinch to get a better result. Got a cut from Brandon who did an expert fade job. I always get a medium skin fade, the hard part, and trim the tips on top. Brandon sat me down and got to work, no BSing around. I am the type of person that could care less about loyalty to one barber, as I try to get in and out of a barbershop because I am always in a hurry. Brandon has changed my thoughts on this. Odds are the next time I stop by for a cut I will seek out Brandon however, time is money and I might have to opt for someone else, but I will try. I really appreciated the military discount too! I've been going to this barber shop for three years. However, now that Kristen is no longer there, I'll have to move on. I found out that she no longer works there when I entered and was subjected to, I believe, Jesse (?), who was more concerned about sports than my hair. He grabbed my head like a football and hit me several times with his comb. Then, to my surprise, decided to use clippers on my back and shoulders! That's a job my wife usually does. I think this lummox should be searing sheep than working on the public masses. They wouldn't let me know where Kristen moved to. If one of you who reads this knows where she is, please let me know. I started getting my hair cuts here a couple of years ago, and always got a clean, professional cut. Kirsten and Javier did a fantastic job every time. Then Kirsten is never there, so I waited for Javier. Then he's not there in the late afternoons about 5:00, so I tried a few other barbers and never again got a good consistent cut. Honestly, there's more chit-chat and joke telling amongst the barbers than there is hair cutting going on anymore. When you're in the chair and your barber stops every minute or so to talk with another barber, it's no wonder that my hair cut is often uneven and shoddy. I prefer a top notch hair cut from a professional barber, like Kirsten Javier. Not at all pleased with the others who seem to be there for their own social enjoyment. Mike, In response to your reply, Irvin, Jeremy, Brandon and a younger black fellow have all cut my hair and none were as good a cut, or had a professional demeanor like Javier and Kirsten. It's very unfortunate for you if Javier isn't there anymore. Just read many other comments. He's one of the best. But it's okay Mike, this isn't personal. I've found another shop to spend my money with, and I'm very happy for your success. And who knows. Maybe one day I'll stop in and give your shop another go. All the best, buddy. read more

I went to Mikes on a whim because I couldn't find a barbershop that was still open during this whole COVID 19 thing. My girl who I usually go to at sports clips wasn't available, and after googling close by shops, Mike's popped up and they were still open. Arrived and was taken promptly because there was no wait. I think the guy who cut my hair was named Jeff? Not sure. Either way, I told him what I wanted, and despite the fact that he did it in a way I wasn't used to, I was happy with the end result. Cheers to these guys for remaining open during a rough time and for coming through. It was either this or cut my own hair, and I'm glad I didn't choose the latter. read more

Hadn't been to Mike's in about eight months due to a transfer with my job. I came in last week and got my hair cut and for the first time I really didn't like the cut. The frustrating thing is I went to a barber I've been to several times before. Maybe he had an off day but for a month I'm gonna be irritated because I don't like the way my hair looks. Sure, I could have went back in and complained but I'd rather go somewhere else. I also noticed the price of a haircut went up a buck and there was an extra 75¢ fee for using my debit card it seems. They really don't know how to understand what you want as a haircut. I let the same guy cut my hair twice (Nigel) and and both times I told him I want a low fade and an inch off the top and 1.5 inches off the back. He then continued to give me a high fade and blended it like crap both times and took not even half an inch off front and back. Just feels like an over priced great clips now. 10 years ago this place was always on point. Now it's just a low quality barbershop. Save your self the time and annoyance and find a real barber with presentable work. Cause this isn't it. Not happy with my hair cut or the way they rush to finish like they had a room full of people waiting because it was just me and one other customer in there. Mike's place is interesting. Never been to a shop quite like it. There must be a dozen chairs in a row, every one of them full, at least today at mid-day they were. One thing you'll notice with all the barbers both male and female - they're all meticulous. No rushing through hair cuts here. Today was my second time at Mike's and with a new barber (for me). Javier...the man is an artist. My chair was positioned such that I couldn't see in the mirror facing me - obstructed by a light switch so hung short on the wall. Javier kept trimming and trimming then more cutting...to where I started thinking, man what's left? Once finished it was like he'd carved a Picasso on my head. So precise, just right. Not exactly what I was expecting but pleased with the result for sure. He just knew what worked for me. I like that. Check out Mike's, and Javier for a great experience! Additional recommendations from latest experiences: I've had Jeff cut my hair a couple times with much success. He's an expert at his craft. Today I met with Sam. Mike's used to be the only place I'd go to get a haircut and over the years, especially recently, it has gone downhill. Want to see them succeed but having a "barber" who is clearly stoned and takes 40 minutes to do a 15 min cut is absurd. Not to mention screwing it up in the end. NOTE: there are still a few people cutting hair here that have been here for years and do a phenomenal job, I don't want to discredit them. (if you go to Mike's already, it's the same 3-4 you've seen for years.) The other 3-4 are extremely hit or miss and you'll leave with a different looking cut every time. Really hope they pay a little closer attention to the job some of their employees are doing in order to succeed long term. I still love Mike's as it's convenient for me but please step it up! This barber shop is pretty decent, I went there because of the great reviews on yelp. The shop itself was pretty clean, there wasn't too long of a wait maybe 15 minutes, The hair stylist I had was nice but I've had better. I showed a picture of what I wanted, she was able to perform it pretty close to what I showed her but not perfectly tho. Basically a comb over skin fade, The main issues I ended up having was when my haircut was finished the fade between my beard and my hair was uneven, by a half inch or so. So I noticed this while looking unto the mirror in my car and I had to go back into the shop and have it fixed. Super inconvenient, and she didn't even have me sit down due to another customer being in the chair. Once again it's a decent shop, but make sure you double check for errors. read more

This is my first review on Yelp and feeI that I need to share this experience. Went to Mike's for a haircut and shave today and Kirstin (the person who cut my hair) was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!! She took the time to listen and understand what I wanted, then expertly performed it! The results at the end were outstanding but it goes much further than that! I felt totally relaxed in the chair, even though there was a razor up to my face. She carefully shaved all of the spots that are hard to get, and I could see that she was confident in what she was doing. She took the time to explain each step before moving ahead so I knew what to expect. She turned something I usually can't stand into a delightful and relaxing experience. I did not feel rushed at any time during the process but it was completed in a timely manner. I walked out of there totally relaxed, beyond satisfied, with a totally smooth face and great looking hair (as good as it could look on a 56 year old guy)! I know this review is about one person, so getting to the shop, all of the customers seemed highly satisfied and the staff seemed confident, relaxed, happy and upbeat! They all looked like they knew what they were doing! This was my first time there as I am new to the area, but it certainly won't be my last. Used to be the best. Now you rarely see the same barber working there from month to month. Was a customer for 15 years. My kids and I would be there every couple weeks and knew everybody. I've watched it de line over the last few years. Now it's a all different people who spend over an hour on one haircut. How do they make any money like that? Great little barbershop. I could not make it to my regular guy. I was able to get in quickly even with a lot of people there. The cut was very fast but very good. It included a neck shave that I know some of the new school barbers don't do anymore. The neck massage at the end was a nice touch. read more

Came in for a trim on a Tuesday around 3pm. Place was empty besides me so I got into a chair quick but as soon as another customer came in and a manager called one of the barbers to serve him. Great spot, especially in this area! They have the world's best hours, and I find myself running there when I've waiting until the 11th hour for a hair cut. With any barber, the product depends on the stylist, and I've had good luck here over the past few years. Never a bad cut, some better than others, but all were good. The wait can be a bit rough if you go on Sunday...but good luck getting a shorter line anywhere else! read more
