About a week ago I took my vehicle here because the Cadillac Dealership told me that I needed a…read moretransmission. Me not being rich decided to visit a few shops and get the best rate. I went to A1A because a good friend of mine said that they do honest work. I met the nice lady at the front desk, and she introduced me to Steve. Steve took me on a test drive with his head mechanic and some fancy scanner. Not 2-minutes into the test drive Steve turns to me and says Gio, you do not need a transmission, the issue I was having was a p0300 Multiple misfire which causes the car to drive horrible and feel as if it's not going anywhere. I could not believe that my car didn't have a transmission problem which Ed Morse Cadillac told me would cost me $9000 to repair. I went to my personal mechanic and had a tune up replace all plugs, wires and coils and had my Escalade driving like new for under $2000. I had to take a minute to write an honest review because not very often I come across good people who do good things. Thank you Steve and you now have a customer for life.

The manager Alix made sure that the process was as smooth and straight forward as possible. When I first got there and explained what was going on with my transmission, he immediately offered to go with me on a test drive so he can checkout the issues for himself. After doing so, he did a full diagnostics on the vehicle to see what codes would appear on his diagnostic machine, in order to eliminate any guess work. I definitely appreciate the professionalism and the straightforward answers he would give me when I had questions. I can tell that unlike other establishments in the area, that he wasn't trying to swindle or get additional funds out of me. He was able to offer me a competitive price for the work that would need to be done as well as the parts. Everything that he told me was definitely more than reasonable and I agreed to have the work done. They were able to give me a ride to Avis for a rental for a few days while they got the work done on my car. I've never been to an establishment that was so courteous before, but it was definitely a breath of fresh air with all the stress that I was dealing with at the time. When I got my vehicle back in a few days, it was in great condition. Alix also offered to have me come back after 200 miles or so just to check and make sure everything was on the up and up which I definitely appreciated. I have the upmost respect for this establishment and whenever I have issues with my transmission or a member of my family's transmission I know exactly where to go. Treat you like a drive thru business, took my keys and said we'll let you know once your car is done. Then they contacted me 5'mins before they closed and said how quick can I make it back to the shop, only to find the guy that I handed the keys to went home a long time ago and there was another guy who was in there working on a whole different car while my car was parked on the side. No idea how long my car was actually ready for, I waited all day, turned my car in at 10am and didn't get my car until 7pm, no exaggeration, I got my starter replaced. Should not have taken that long. Oh, and when I showed up, he said "you have the starter replacement right?" We never talked about that, I never said I had the part, he then said okay no problem I could find it, it'll take me an extra 3hours to get it. I just didn't want to deal with this issue anymore so I said sure. I should have taken that as my first sign and left somewhere else. I've had other work done on my car since at a new shop and I'm 1000% happier, better priced, feel valued, plus I can sit inside a shop and wait while my car gets worked on, unlike here. You have to leave and come back once they call you, at the end of the day, 5mins before they close telling you your car is ready, to be picked up by someone you never seen before. OH and these guys don't even report their work into Carfax like every other professional shop does. Everytime a mechanic works on your car, they upload it into carfax to show your recent updates, but this shop doesn't do that. Avoid this shop, let that be an indicator of whether or not you should do business with a mechanic. Very shady to avoid uploading professional required documentation. Now that sucks because when I want to resell my car, my carfax history won't show that I got a new started replaced 2026. There's no history of it whatsoever. Find another more professional mechanic, compare prices, ask if they upload their work into carfax. Ask many questions before agreeing to trust your car with them. How they answer your questions will tell you if you want to do business with them, but do that with others and let me spare you this struggle. Only giving them 2 stars because as far as I know, the starter was actually replaced and haven't had issues since. So I guess they did what they needed to do. But I had a lower quote from another mechanic and I regret not going with him because he's the one I go to now and he charges WAY less for better quality work, he's thorough, takes his time to explain and show you.
