A front air-strut failed on my E550 (W211). The repair cost at Auto Critic was $1,000 less than the dealership estimate, with the same rebuilt parts. The dealer couldn't even give me a firm estimate for parts, and was pushing a wheel alignment on me. I had both front air-struts replaced with MB parts, which carry a lifetime warranty, from a long-standing re-manufacturer. The repair was completed when promised. The car rides beautifully and tracks straight. The car was electronically leveled and all the Airmatic suspension settings work. The condition of all my front suspension bushings were confirmed, before the repair work was started. I have since put 2,000 miles on the car. BIG MISTAKE GOING TO AUTO CRITIC!!! I should've stuck with our regular mechanic, but thought we'd try these guys since they're closer to home and proclaim to be Mercedes experts. We took our ML550 in to address a light on the dash - turned out it was a fuse; cost us $20 for the fuse and ONE FULL HOUR of labor @ $125!!! Huh. Who knew it took an hour to swap out a fuse. When I questioned Mike about it on the phone, he got all huffy and threw a little tantrum. When my wife picked up the car and pay the invoice, he did the same with her. read more

At first everyone was friendly. My first oil change was fine. They then said I would need over $6000.00 of suspension work after Mike inspected a noise I mentioned. Apparently you aren't supposed to question Mike about anything he says. Mike is an arrogant SOB with a Nepolian complex. I've been taking my ML320 here for a couple of years now. The only reason I'm not saying more is because they have worked with me on more than one occasion. Theresa and Lauren are very sweet but the owner (Mike) can have a very poor attitude sometimes and forgets on occasion that you are the customer. The last time I took my car in there was just that, the "last" time. Mike made me feel like I was more of a burden than a customer. After keeping my car for almost a week knowing that was my only mode of transportation, he basically got tired of working on it. He told me to come get my car. Car was running terrible. He didn't even care that he was putting me and my Mother's safety at risk. They have definitely lost a customer. read more

I owned a 99 Mercedes ML 430 which was serviced for a cam shaft position sensor at auto critic. They broke the sensor replacing it , which cost me over 1100 dollars . They had to remove the transmission to retread the sensor . They are incapable mechanics and I will never use them again . I service my Mercedes at a really capable shop . star garage . stay away . read more

I brought my car there for the last year, the son Justin is nice, but the father Mike is rude and I think his recommendation to change my oil from synthetic to conventional ruined the car, it never ran the same and then the transmission started slipping, he said he cleaned it out and added transmission fluid and said something about the trans fluid being contaminated with oil I told a few people about this and they said that is not even a possibility. I picked up the car after he said it was running fine, was shifting etc. I only made it a mile away and got stuck on the road, thankfully a firetruck was beside me and they stopped traffic and pushed me backwards into a parking lot. I called Mike who yelled at me that my car was old, it was fine when he drove it, then asked me if I wanted him to tow my car and give me my money back and I said yes. Well he didn't tow my car, I did and he did not return my money. He also showed no compassion that I had just left his shop a few minutes ago. I believe the work was shoddy and will never go back. Because of him I had to sell my car for way less than I would have been able to. read more

Our advice: take your business elsewhere. We purchased a Cadillac SRX from Auto Critics (Pompano Beach) in December 2018. The day we called the dealer, we worked with the salesperson Paul who assured us that he had checked everything out on the vehicle, and that everything was in good working order. We were very insistent that everything be in good working order, or that we be made aware of any issue, because we lived over 900 miles away and could not inspect the car without spending significant money and time to inspect the vehicle. He said he understood and bragged about the "awesome" condition of the car. We agreed on a sale price, placed a $1000 deposit, and purchased non-refundable airline tickets to fly down and buy the car the following week. The next day Paul called us to tell us that a hood strut and tire pressure monitor were not in working order, and we argued about who should pay for it. He assured us that those were the only items that were non-functioning. Several days later, the afternoon before we left to fly down to pick-up the car, Paul called and asked if we were going to pay for the hood strut and TPM, and he assured us again that everything else was in good working order. When we picked up the vehicle, Paul attempted to rush the signing of the papers since it was at the end of the day. We took his word that everything was in good working order after he drove us from the airport. We settled on us paying for the parts on the hood strut and TPM, and he covered the labor cost. After we got home, we had a state required inspection for our sticker and found that the hood strut and TPM had not been installed, and we had 5 items repaired (some in order to pass inspection) costing about $1350. There are three items we have not repaired at an estimated cost of $500. We contacted the owner Mr. Depaci who has done nothing, not even the courtesy to return any response to our certified letter. Based on our experience, Auto Critic is untrustworthy, to the point of boldface cheating (charging for parts and labor for work not performed). There is no good reason to do business with them, for any reason. The owner has no concern about deceitful and unethical behavior in his business. read more

Overcharged, incorrect diagnosis of problems with car, unethical customer service and when I got my car back it was dirty from grease on my seats,etc I was quoted an estimate of work to repair my Mercedes Benz CLK350 car of $1400 on the phone and when I went to pick it up it was over $1750. Paid via debit card. After questioning the rate...they reduced it a bit, I paid under duress, but now I want a proper breakdown, they are not responding. My car is now having further issues that I never had prior to them fixing the problem. The owner Mike was rude, disrespectful and insulting. Not to mention, he could not even verbally tell me what the NEW issues were with my car. He blamed me for problems because lack of maintenance and/or transmission problems. After having 3 separate mechanics review and inspect my car...NONE of the this is true. I have a broken actuator on the intake manifold...oddly he NEVER mentioned this at all. However he did hand me the computer print out with the fault codes showing a 0522 error that reflects the problem. He did not even read his OWN PRINTOUT! Car was returned with dirty seats, handle on door, etc. I have tried calling and emailing with no avail. I feel that I have been overcharged and had I let him work on it further...would have had work done that was NOT even necessary. read more
