I just love this place. It's an old school, neighbor friendly spot built on honesty and hard work. The mechanics are great, Ed is a great guy who shoots straight and does everything he can to get the job done. It took a long time to find a shop that I trust and would recommend. If I had to leave a drawback... it would be because they are so good and have developed such a large loyal customer base..sometimes you gotta work with them regarding when they can get you in and how long it might take. But hey... I wouldn't want to leave my car with people who aren't busy so... I am more than happy to work with them there. Brought in my car and told them I needed rear brakes. called for my car and they said they put on front brakes which I thought I had done six months ago but it was only pads. I was like WHAT!!!! I thought they screwed up. The owner Ed, who couldn't be nicer took me for a test drive and brakes were fine. Turns out the last mechanic only put on pads and didnt replace the rotars. My bad. Needed a new battery and an auxiliary battery and also the circuit board that powers the alternator. When the electronics went and all the electrical died, my Dodge Durango went into shutdown mode, and I had to get a flatbed tow. The Auto Spot is one of the few auto repairs that has the electronic gateway for the new electronic equipment on the newer cars. Without that gateway, it will force you to go to the car dealership, who will make you wait a week for your car, and charge you almost 3X as much! I know! I checked it. So after replacing the two batteries, and then I was prepared to pay (as the Dodge dealership had told me) I would need to buy a new alternator! That would have been another $1,700 with labor! Who wanted that bill! But the electronic gateway showed that the circuit board, hidden under the charging terminal of the battery in the hood, just needed to be replaced, as the alternator had sufficient life and voltage! Instead of a 7-10 day wait at the dealership, I picked up my car the second day using The Auto Spot!! It's a family owned dealership, and they always treat you honestly, and tell you what is exactly wrong, with much consideration for your budget. My dad purchased his truck from Nissan dealership in Pompano. Came with lots of warranties. Six months now, A/C broke. The dealer changed compressor for free (warranty) but A/C stopped working following day. Turns out need it also new condenser, the dealer was asking for crazy amount $ to fix it as it was not covered in warranty! The office staff felt very pushy, pretentious and all around super weird in they way they conducted business with customers. I had very unsettling feeling that we were been ripped off. We took the truck to The Auto Spot and they fixed it same day. Price was very competitive and service was great. People were very transparent and pleasant to deal with. The truck was fixed the same day and there was no surprises in terms of billing and didn't try to up charge for anything else. When asking for advice on a repair, the owner, Ed, or his son, Mike, have been upfront and explained each option for the repair and the approximate cost. A quick example: I was driving to Key West a few years ago when my car stopped dead. I panicked and called Auto Spot for help. I just had the most gratifying and refreshing experience at the Auto Spot just now w my 2018 Mercedes-Benz. I was told at the dealership that I needed new brake pads and rotors to the tune of $2,500! I went to Ed at the Auto Spot for a second opinion and within literally MINUTES he was back and told me I was good to go! He explained and showed me how he inserted a camera into my rims and could see the pads and rotors. My front brakes were like brand new and my rear brakes had 60% life left on them. I received many references and fortunately for me, and my 2004 Cadillac Deville, which is a sentimental car for me, the Auto Spot was the closest to where I live. In the past we had good experiences with Auto Spot. But they have clearly gone downhill in caring about customers. On Monday we made an appointment for 8AM Wednesday. My wife drove her car to Auto Spot which is not just around the corner. There were a few people in front of her who they took. When they got to my wife they told her they could not take her because they had too many cars that day. When she pointed out she had an appointment they acknowledged that but didn't care. No apology. Actually said "I could tell you it is COVID, but it's just that we have too many cars. " wasted time driving for an appointment they clearly had no intention of honoring. How rude and inconsiderate. No call to let us know or see if we wanted to reschedule. Instead wasted her time. Bad business practice. Don't do business with people who don't care about you and clearly they don't. read more

I will leave it up to you to determine if they are a value or not. I purchased a set of brakes expecting that they would be rustproof at least rest resistant and they rusted solid. I paid $700 for the brake job, and in Portland I could get the same brake job for 500. Got a set a shock absorbersFor the rear of a Honda civic for a cost of $300. It's $150 per side. Regular shock absorbers not anything special. All I can say, Is be cautious. If you purchase something be sure to get any warrantees in writing. read more

My daughter's boyfriend took her Lexus car there to get fixed. He thought they were his friends.... They said they ran diagnostics (impossible), and couldn't see anything wrong with it, though it keeps stalling out and is dangerous to drive. We don't think they even bothered with it. The first evening trying to pick it up: they couldn't because it was blocked in by a car that they couldn't find the keys for (?!). So professional. It gets worse: Next day, pouring monsooning rain, the hood is up, the driver's window all the way down and the key turned in the ignition. They were gone for the day. A very nice small family business that employs courteous, skilled employees. I called them up, spoke with Edward, and asked if I could bring my car in to have a flat tire repaired. He said yes and suggested that I come in an hour, which I did. I told him details about the flat tire and he said that they would fix it using a patch on the inside, then rebalance the tire for me and then told me how much it would cost. The car was taken inside about 5 minutes later and they were finished in about 20 minutes. While waiting in their small waiting area, several other customers came in and also telephoned in. In each case, the customers were treated with respect and very well.
