This is my second time having my Honda Civic repaired by Mike's Auto Body. First time was a couple years ago when my whole passenger side was swiped by a lady who ran a red light. The car needed body and paint work from bumper to bumper. They did an excellent job. Just picked up my car today for my most recent need for Mike's. While driving in Moraga, a HUGE buck tried to leap over my car on the roadway. He ALMOST made it! But not quite. This time they replaced my hood and front grill, and painted everything up front to match. Looks great. If only I could get that deer to pay my $500 deductible. ‍ Anyway, Mike's is THE place to go in Vallejo if you need excellent body work. Mike's auto body was pretty freakin awesome. I had gotten rear ended and went through my insurance to fix the damage. Mike's auto body was an insurance approved shop and they were great. First off this shop is a referred shop of liberty mutual. I had a dent on my upper left front fender due to a branch breaking off the tree in front of my house. My wife takes the van in for a estimate. I tell her to hold off on leaving the car there until I can speak to there manager/painter. I speak with there rep and am informed that they use PPG only products and none of the cheap Omni or other generic paint products. Also told there work comes with a life time guarantee. I am also told that they would provide my wife and 15 month old son a ride to the enterprise so my wife can get her rental car for the time our van is at mikes auto body. THAT WAS A LIE!!! My wife was told sorry we can't assist with taking you to enterprise that they are short staffed. I had just spoke to the guy not 10mins before she got there. So my wife put my son in his stroller and carried his car seat in hand all the way to the rental place. Last Thursday I get a email and a call that my van will be ready on Friday. I call Friday and speak to Jorge who says he spoke with my wife and she had already informed him that she would be there toward the end of there business day. She arrives to pick the van up. Points out that the alignment of the fender is not correct and he states that not all fenders are always aligned up properly. My wife swaps everything front the rental to the van and takes off home. She phoned me and says that the check engine light is on. This is around 5:30ish to 6pm Friday I tell her just go home(closer then the dealership) I get home roughly about 6:10/20 and began to inspect the van. I find 3 flaws to the pain as I walk up to the van. The tone is different from the bumper and hood, the fender is not aligned properly. I call my wife out and ask here if she point these flaws out. Her response was yes that the guy said not all fenders are always aligned properly. I immediately took photos called the shop and my insurance adjuster the week ended already at this point. Sent out pics in a email to both shop and adjuster. I ask my wife for the keys, I turn the van on to find the check engine light is on. I pop the hood don't see anything out of ordinary. Turn off the van and plug in the van to charge. A loud noise came from the motor like as if the fans or a blower turned on. Which it never has done before. I in plug it and it continues to make the noise. I jump in the drivers seat and turn it on the noise is still present at this time and it seems to be self changing going from zero percent to five percent. After turning of and on a few times the noise stopped. I plugged it in once again to see if it happened again but this time phone recording in hand. Saturday morning I drive(in my other car) to the dealership tell them what I'm experiencing and they said to bring it in I returned home and contacted Chrysler roadside for a tow. Upon the tow truck arriving and preparing to tow it the tow truck driver did a walk around and pointed out damage to my passenger rim and tire and how fresh it it appears. This was the cherry to top off my anger I tell you. I had it towed to the dealership. They took possession of it and will be looking into to issues. I'm waiting for Monday to speak with both mikes auto body and my insurance to see what course of action will be taken to correct these issues with mikes auto body. I phone my insurance company and am told no rental can be approved until From this experience alone with mikes auto body, NOT TRUSTWORTHY, THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS ESPECIALLY WOMEN, THEY LIE TO YOU IN ORDER TO GET YOUR BUSINESS, IT SEEMS THEY ITHER TOOK THE VAN ON THE ROAD FOR PURPOSES UNKNOWN! I wouldn't take my vehicle here ever again, but because they need to fix there issues the vehicle will possible be returned to them unless my insurance allows me to take it to a different shop for the proper repairs. read more

It was my first time experiencing an accident involving another vehicle and dealing with insurance claims, estimates etc. My insurance directed me to Mike's Auto Body where I was introduced to the Manager, NINO and adjuster, DENNIS. From the moment I walked in to leaving, they both provided excellent service in regards to knowledge about the repair, insurance handling and recommendations to proceed. Both Nino and Dennis contacted me the same day I went in to get my car checked and followed up with how to correctly follow up with my insurance. Overall, had a great experience with Mikes Auto Body and their staff. Definitely hassle and stress free when dealing with them. 100% recommend! I submitted a claim through my car insurance and since MAB was contracted through my insurance, I went with them. I dropped off my car 8/15 and the rep who helped me assured me they would let me know if anything changes (estimate/etc). I forgot to ask the est. repair time so I called the following morning. I spoke with a lady (estimator) who informed me she couldn't give me an est. time since she doesn't want to promise me anything. She informed me she would call me before the end of the week with an update. The week goes by, no call. The following week, I called again for an update since I wanted to know how long it would be and if I needed a rental or not. I spoke with the same lady who still didn't have an update and informed me she was updating the estimate with parts/etc. She would call before the end of the day with an update. No call. A few days later, I call back and spoke with the receptionist. I informed her this is my third call and I have yet to receive an answer to my simple question nor any call backs and to please let the estimator know this is urgent. No calls and I called back a few days later. I spoke with a gentleman who informed me they are waiting for approval from my ins since the estimate had change (yet they failed to inform me of this and they had told me they would notify me if anything changes). I expressed frustration at their lack of communication/customer service and the # of times I've had to call, only left with no answers. He told me he would call me back in one hour with an update. No surprise, I don't get a call. I decided to call my ins and spoke with an agent who informed me they have not received any updated estimate from MAB. By that time, I was beyond frustrated and annoyed. It took about another week for everything to update and at this time, my shop has been in the shop for a little over 2 weeks. My car ended up being considered a total loss so I arranged to pick up my belongings on 9/8 with one of the staff at MAB. I had asked the lady if I needed to let my ins know I am surrendering my car to them, but she said no. They will let me ins know. I asked her this twice. I called my ins on 9/22 to follow up on the status since I haven't heard back from them. They informed me MAB never updated them so if I didn't call to follow up, my ins would probably have never known I surrendered my car. I understand during this time there was a transition within MAB, but that doesn't excuse the lack of communication and customer service I received. I'm glad others had a different experience, but this still doesn't make up for the horrible service I received from them. I would not recommend MAB to anyone. read more

I was recommended by my insurance company to go to Mike's after a minor accident where someone ran a stop sign, causing me to collide into them. The estimate from insurance was $600 less than what the final bill came out to be for my damaged front bumper and it took only a week for the repair for 8 hours of work, although we were told by Zoe, the receptionist, that it could take weeks. While everyone was courteous, the estimator, Gary, was supposed to go over the repairs with me after I picked up my car and paid. However, he simply told me to come back to Mike's for any future issues with the bumper. As I was in somewhat of a hurry, I did not press the matter. After leaving, I noticed that several papers had been left in my car, which turned out to be receipt summaries for other clients with information about their repairs on them. Although I called to let them know and Mike's apologized for the oversight and said I could throw them away, had the estimator gone through the repairs properly with me, he may have noticed them lying in the passenger side of my car prior to my taking the car back. I believe Mike's did clean the exterior of my car, although it is difficult to say if that was also added to part of the bill. In sum, Mike's appeared to be relatively efficient, although I believe I should have gotten my car back sooner (I only learned that it was ready because I called Monday morning to find that it had been completed the previous Friday); as insurance is covering the cost, this is not a battle I am pursuing. I would suggest that Mike's pay some finer details to customer service moving forward. read more

CONSUMER BEWARE! During the estimate, Gary said it would only take four days to complete, so I gave them my business. Dropped off my truck on Tuesday. Said it would be done in a week only to receive a text on the next Tuesday saying it would be finished on Friday. I received text during the week saying its on schedule. Friday comes only to receive another text saying it won't be ready for another week. Ten days already, and I still have to wait another week. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable. Is this how they conduct business? Mikes auto body needs to be more honest and transparent. I doubt it will be ready next week. I will update. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! read more

I took my Prius to Mikes Auto Repair because some crazed biker took his fist and knocked off/broke my passenger-side mirror. I chose this company initially because it was the first one on the list of repair shops from my auto insurance carrier, USAA. Well now I am very glad I called this shop. They were very nice over the phone when I was setting up a time to drop off my vehicle, they worked quickly to review the damages and give me a ball park estimate of when the job would be completed, and they delivered my vehicle back to my apartment. I have never had this type of service from any other repair shop in my life. I would call this exceptional. So, if you need body work done on your vehicle and you're near this shop I recommend them for service and efficiency. Lastly, the office staff were nice; they answered all my questions and the office was clean. YES! I recommend this company and I would use them again. read more

Last year at the tail end of rainy season our Honda started flooding only on the driver's side by the brake and gas peddles. We couldn't it figure out so we took it to the Honda Dealership. $300 later they tell us they have no idea why it's doing that. This year as the rain started up again and I was basically swimming in the driver's seat I took a chance in Mike's Auto body shop. Within 15 minutes they discovered it was a buildup of leaves in the sun roof and had hosed it out for free. I haven't had a single issue with flooding since. I was in an accident a couple weeks ago. Damage to the front right of the car (Toyota Prius), including the bumper and the lights on that side. USAA insurance recommended Mike's as one of two alternatives. Both were very highly rated on Yelp. I chose Mike's because it was easier to get to from my home. Every contact with them was polite and helpful. I ended up taking it in right at the end of the next day. They were welcoming and helpful, even though it kept them late. They coordinated with the Enterprise rental across the street and gave me and USAA a preliminary estimate that night. Nino, the estimator, explained that there might be more damage when they got under the visible parts. I had fears that it would go over the value of the car and that it would take a long time. Nino said he couldn't guarantee anything until the final estimate, but thought it would be low enough. (He sent a higher estimate the next day, still within the value of the car.) I needed it by December 14, and he said they could get it to me by then. He also willingly explained everything I had questions about or didn't understand (including how to get the car safely into the shop without the bumper rubbing against the tire). I never once felt condescended to or that he was impatient, which is unusual in my experience with car repair people. Nino kept in touch with me regularly about the pace of repairs. When it took longer than the expected few days, he contacted me right away and gave me a date when it would be ready. It was. Again, I was there right at the end of the day (traffic!). Again, Nino was friendly and very helpful. He went through the whole list of parts and labor, explaining what each thing was and answering my questions. This is also unusual in my experience, and I found it very helpful. The car looks beautiful! They had cleaned the inside and removed the mats, because he was concerned about the mold smell. He recommended that I replace them, but had the old ones wrapped in plastic, in case I decided to keep them. (I found new ones at Costco for a very good price.) He even helped move all my stuff from the rental to my car and took the rental back. The only glitch I experienced (very small!) was that the windshield washer, which had to be replaced, was empty. The bill said it had been filled. Fortunately, I discovered it right away, went back, and Nino took care of it immediately himself. I highly recommend this Mike's Auto Body and it's employees, especially Nino, who made a difficult experience much easier. read more

I had the misfortune of getting into a car accident the first part of May but I also was fortunate to have my car sent to Mike's Auto Body to have my car evaluated. From the moment the shop was in possession of my car I was in contact with Ali and Nino. They both kept me abreast of what was going on and was very forth coming when I did not understand information and had questions. They explained everything in layman terms. If you are considering having work done to your car GET A SECOND OPINION. I brought my car to Mike's Auto Body on the recommendation of my insurance carrier after I was side swiped on the freeway, in bumper to bumper traffic. There is a scratch along both door panels & the estimator said it would be about $4,500 to replace both doors. When I brought the car back for the actual work, I soon received a call that they had sent supplemental quotes to my insurance carrier that would bring the total to more than my vehicle threshold. This would result in my insurance declaring my vehicle a total loss. I told my carrier that I intended to pick up the car and contest the determination by taking the car to another shop. They agreed and paid Mike's Auto Body to put my car back together. Angelica told me that I could come pick my car up and when I went in 2 days later, it was NOT put back together. The garage had torn up all of the window trim and when I told Angelica, she said, "won't don't repair cars that have been deemed a loss." I asked to speak to her manage and when Gary came out he treated me like I was completely unreasonable for expecting them to put my car back together in the shape they had received it in. He said, "To make you happy, I will fix that piece, but we don't have to." I left my car in their shop for yet another weekend and called my insurance carrier, who decided to investigate the shop as they agreed that the car should be returned in the same state that it was left in. When I returned to pick it up on Monday, as I was told to, it was not ready. I picked it up two days later and the interior door handle fell off that afternoon. I took it back to the shop and asked how to reattach it. After rolling his eyes at me, Gary agreed to glue it back on. At no point has he ever acknowledged any fault in leaving my car in disrepair. Less than a week after picking up the car AGAIN, more trim pieces are simply falling off and now the passenger's doors have collected water because they did not seal them properly. What kind of body shop just returns vehicles this way? I took the car back to Gary today who became instantly combative, as though I was ridiculous for bothering him with my car that he let his shop jack up. Before even looking at it, he said, "Just so you know, I'm not taking your car in again." I didn't ask them to replace the doors as they originally quoted me. I simply asked them to return the vehicle in the same condition it was left in. He looked at me with contempt and said, "I never should have touched this. It is broken and I'm not taking it in." I asked him why he felt like that was acceptable, why he thought it was ok to leave me with water in my doors and he said he was "done with me". I told him that I was going to contact a lawyer and he said I had "threatened" him. No. I gave him the courtesy of warning him that if he did not do the right thing, I would take legal action. I have every right to do so! You will not get away with simply destroying Vallejoans' vehicles and expect us to got softly into that sweet night, my friend. You are by no means done with me until you learn how to do business ethically. read more

Nino apostol, the shop manager, treated me just right; although he was super busy, he gave me personal attention, if he didn't answer a call himself when I called, he return my call promptly. I would like to say that their staff and especially Gary (Estimator) were fantastic! They were professional and compassionate handling the lack of correspondence from my insurance. My insurance (Farmers) delayed the process of my vehicle repair twice and I began to get frustrated. Gary assured me that my car would be taken care of and to have no worries.
