The old fashioned chocolate is my favorite, because the breading is so moist yet crumby at the same time, and is unlike any donut I've ever had. This is my go to spot for birthdays and special events, because everyone always gets a kick out of the cool flavors (like raspberry frosting) and the wide variety of donuts they have. I'm a regular donut guy. I think it's cool that we have many different flavors to choose from, but I'm all about regular glazed or maple bars. I also like my donuts light and flaky, not heavy and thick like cake. This place reminds me of top Pot which is one of the area's most popular places, but I have to admit, I'm not a fan. We are really starting to take this gourmet thing too far. I miss the days when grocery stores had bakeries in house. And in my opinion, no one did it better than Winchel's. I am a huge donut fan, and Mighty-O was mighty yummy. My friend has been on a sort of Vegan craze lately and recommended this donut shop while I was visiting in Seattle. We went in early on a Sunday morning and had no problem finding parking. There was a good variety of flavors and they even had mini donuts available too. I felt bad for the employee though, because he had to list each flavor for us. It would be great if they could have a list or tags posted for the customers. The ambience of the shop was cool too, with lots of seating, high ceilings, and a huge communal table. The most memorable flavors were the lemon poppy and grasshopper (chocolate mint) flavors. read more

My husband and I LOVE Mighty-O - which is why we opted for donuts instead of cake for our wedding. There was one issue with them receiving my emails asking to place an order - but after realizing it was going to their junk mail, they were quick to apologize and offer us a discount on our bulk order. No issues on pick up - they were ready to be devoured. I finally had the opportunity to stop at Mighty-O donuts yesterday. Since I showed up at 4:50PM, I got to take advantage of their awesome 50% off donut happy hour that runs from 4-5PM everyday! $1.85 for two donuts is definitely a killer deal. Price point aside, the two plain glazed donuts I grabbed were absolutely delicious. I wouldn't be able to pinpoint these as vegan donuts were I not already aware of the fact that they are. We've been here multiple times and I'm surprised I haven't written a review yet. This place is probably one of the best donut places in Seattle. The cake like texture is awesome and delicious. I know it's not the traditional airy and fluffy donut, but these are very very good. We've tried a lot of the flavors and they are all delicious. I find Mighty-O generally pretty disappointing. I live really close to the Wallingford location, so my first experience with these doughnuts was there. I got the Raspberry Riot, which tasted almost exactly like a tube of Lip Smackers lip balm that I had as a child. That flavor was great in chapstick form, but not so much in doughnut form. It tastes incredibly artificial, and even has the same waxy feeling to it. While I was less than impressed with that flavor, I hadn't quite given up on Mighty-O yet and was willing to give their other flavors a chance. Fast forward a few months: I started a new job and this location is right by my office, so whenever doughnuts get brought in, they're always from here. I was pretty stoked that I would get the chance to sample the other flavors Mighty-O has to offer and give them the chance to potentially redeem themselves. I've since tried the French Toast, Cinnamon & Sugar, and Chocolate Top doughnuts, as well as the apple fritter. Out of them all, the French Toast was definitely the best. It's pretty much just a spiced cake doughnut. According to the website, there's also a maple glaze to complete the french toast concept, but I didn't detect any maple flavor so I wasn't really getting french toast vibes from it, but nonetheless, it was a tasty doughnut. I was expecting to like the Cinnamon & Sugar flavor, as it's super classic and hard to mess up, but somehow Mighty-O managed to. The size of the sugar granules that they use is too large, like that of raw sugar, and it doesn't work as well for a sugar doughnut as regular granulated sugar does. Maybe some people are into that added texture, but I definitely wasn't. The Chocolate Top is a classic vanilla base dipped in chocolate, which is normally my favorite kind of doughnut. However, in Mighty-O's version, the chocolate had that same waxiness that I took offense to with the raspberry doughnut. The apple fritter was probably the most disappointing. The dough was over-fried, giving it an unpleasant bitterness and too crunchy of a texture, and the glaze was overly sweet and, again, kind of waxy. I do appreciate that Mighty-O is entirely vegan, not because I am vegan, but just because I think it's good to have dessert alternatives for those who are. Their doughnuts themselves (the cake part) aren't bad; they're a bit dense, but they're pretty moist. I think their toppings/flavors are what's lacking. read more

I have to say I really enjoyed my Mighty O's. I first tried some on National Donut Day. I got a bunch of minis for our office and a chocolate raspberry for me. They were all delightful. They were a little on the dense, cakey side, but the flavor was great. I like what they stand for and the quality ingredients they use. Service was great, although on National Donut Day you'd think they'd have more than one worker in the morning...? The wait wasn't too long, but with another worker would've been quicker. Meh - they're okay donuts, nothing inspiring. The majority of the donuts they offer are the denser cake donuts, the raised didn't look worth trying (they looked flat and tired, the opposite of the light and fluffy goodness a raised donut should be). The flavor of the cake donuts which act as the base for most of the donuts is pretty flat, nothing you couldn't easily make up at home (and do better). Also, the texture leaves a lot to be desired (if you're gonna do cake donuts, do them right - soft fluffy inside, bright and almost crunchy outside - instead, the whole donut has almost the same chewy texture). Tip: Since the base for most of the donuts is pretty flat flavor-wise, the lemon donuts compensated the most for the actual donut's lack of flavor. read more

These are pretty fabulous donuts made with as healthy and wholesome ingredients as you can get in Seattle. Plus their flavors are creative in a good high quality way like blending nice mixes of quality chocolate and coconut instead of throwing artificial sweetened kid's breakfast cereals on top like some of the competition does. It is even more fantastic that you can get these delivered to your front door in lightning speed by Amazon restaurants delivery. Either dine in or delivered, these donuts and the warm service minded people that work here rock it every day. These donuts are dense and DELICIOUS. My boyfriend, who travels a lot with his job, loves this place and brought me here while we were on vacation. I loved that the donuts themselves were simple but that the toppings were delectable. We got a peanut butter and chocolate, a grasshopper, and a chocolate topped.
