For a vegan bakery, the goods are edible. That is actually something most fail to do. Usually they put to much "gum" in it and cause it to be too chewy, making most people feel as if they are eating "plastic food". Now, that the donuts do not have this texture is an amazing feat. However, as a donut they absolutely fail. They have a heavy taste to them like a dry cake. If you are expecting a "Planet Donut" from NY experience (since this place was rated higher than it and 8 other more deserving shops around the US) where the donut is the fluffy, fresh, refreshing, and soft - don't go in. If you want a vegan donut to go with your granola and can't take any of the natural products in other bakery's, try it. Just bring a half gallon of milk, because its a little hard to swallow. I love donuts and definitely wanted to try this place. I have never tried vegan donuts before so I do not have any comparison. It is amazing they make vegan donuts and they weren't bad but I am used to regular donuts and to me they were just not right in my mouth. The texture was way too soft and cakey and even the flavors were kind of off. I had french toast, coffee and the basic ones. The coffee is the only flavor I thought tasted right. I have nothing against their work and I think it is a great thing that they have so many options for vegans and vegetarians. But it was just not for me. P.S. I mean creme filling donuts are the best! I can eat them everyday I hope it will be a permanent flavor!

The first time I tried Mighty O's donuts was at Whole Foods, I had picked up a bag of cinnamon sugar minis and wanted to know where they came from. When I finally came in, I wished I had discovered them sooner. That first time I had a peach fritter that was to die for. What makes Mighty O different from other donut shops is that they are vegan and believe in using quality ingredients, all of which is apparent when you take your first bite. I have yet to try a donut I did not like. What happens with me is that I buy 1 of something new to try then regret not getting more. Most of their donuts also have a different texture than your typical donut, which I love. They have more of a cake consistency to them. Mighty O also has interesting flavored that I haven't seen in other donut shops, like a pumpkin cream filled donut around Thanksgiving. That one in particular was amazing! My only tip is to get their early, gives you a better selection as they sell out of some things quickly. read more

(Visited July 2018) The donuts here are not the typical fluffy donuts. They were solid and thick but still good. There was a large variety of flavors to choose from and it compliments the coffee. The shop itself was a good size with about 5-6 tables and outside seating. It wouldn't be a location I would drive to unless I was already in the area. Blueberry with raspberry frosting was our favorite one of these organic vegan donuts, since the flavor of the dough wasn't overpowered by the blueberry or raspberry frosting. It was just perfect.. The cocoloco was a very close second, again not overpowering. a chocolate flavored dough dipped in a light dusting of sugar. The chocolate frosting covered one with nuts was more like your normal donut, too sweet for us, but definitely fresh. Both neighborhoody and a destination...just the way we like'em. You can also watch their little machine make baby donuts, which a smiling happy employee was tossing like little life preservers on a sea of frosting, then flipping them out on a tray of goodness. One of the best donut shops in Seattle, hands down. Also the best location for Mighty-O, so if you're a first-timer or looking to try Mighty-O I suggest this location over the other locations. The donuts are fresh and delicious, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Recommend the Nutty French Toast or the Cinnamon Sugar donuts. Pro tip: Parking is a challenge on the weekends, especially when it's sunny. If you have time, park down by Greenlake and enjoy a nice walk by the lake and through the Greenlake/Tangletown neighborhoods and avoid the hassle of parking closeby. read more

Went to Mighty-O Donuts in Green Lake on Valentine's Day to pick up a few donuts for myself and co-workers to spread the love! I got a raspberry riot for myself and classic double dozen donuts for my coworkers. I also enjoyed their seasonal flavor banana bread. I was so happy to find out they were open at six since I'm at work by 7! The donuts are great, dense, and flavorful. The location is nice, but I give it a 4/5. Why? Because of the service. While at 6:30am it wasn't terribly crowded and sure I'm not a regular (seeing as this was my first time) the guy who helped me out seemed like he couldn't be bothered. I asked for two dozen classics and he pointed to the prepaid ones and I kinda of just looked at him; and said no I want the classics please. Then he proceeded to check me out and I politely said I wasn't finished. Again. It felt like he couldn't be bothered. Didn't even ask if I wanted anything else. And at that point I had moved on and didn't even bother to ask for a coffee. I overheard him speaking to a regular and he said he has switched to the morning shift. So I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. But personally, I like decent service. I'll definitely give this place another go, I just hope he wakes up. read more

During my wedding planning process, I have contacted Mighty-O several times via different methods but not one contact has been successful. I have tried email, Facebook message, and in person regarding wedding inquiry but only "we will get back to you"/"I will have my manager/owner contact you if you leave your information" were the reply and not one person has followed through. Mighty-O was my favorite donut place and I have introduced many friends and family, but it was disappointing to not hear back from an established business regarding a very meaningful event. Especially when they kept advertising their catering services for weddings/etc through their social media. I finally gave up and had a beautiful donut display instead from my caterer who provided wedding appetizers, drinks, and dinner. It's a huge bummer because I really enjoy the donuts but their business practice/customer service are disappointing. If you're not going to follow through on a customer's inquiry regarding wedding, please don't advertise them and waste people's time. read more

The donuts here are okay. I'm afraid that Vegan foodstuffs may just not agree with my palette. The donuts I tried were fine for what they were, but I came looking for donuts, not vegan donuts. (I was not aware that they were a vegan product when I came to try the goods.) The flavor is wildly different from what I'm used to in donuts. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't a proper donut in my opinion. I suppose the best comparison I can make is how people try to make fake meat out of soy, or TVP. It's fake meat. It's meant to look and taste as close as possible to meat. It will never be real meat. These are fake donuts. (Sorry, I don't mean to be mean or anything.) These donuts were far too dense, and while they tasted somewhat like the donuts I prefer, there was some small-amount of cardboard-like flavor as an added bonus. If you happen to be of the non-animal product eating types, this would be the closest analogue to the bad-for-you donuts that I'm all too happy with. read more

I didn't know this place was a vegan donut place. Call me a vegan then because I enjoyed the donuts very much! We had a Living Social/Groupon thing....but its for only for certain donuts. I wanted the apple fritter but we had to pay for it outside of the coupon. Place gets crowded on the weekends, so be sure to get there early. We waited for about 20 minutes but it wasn't a big deal Nice to see little kids faces light up when they take a bite of a donut while waiting in line. Definitely a place to check out since it is a vegan donut spot.....Im sure if I gave these donuts to a friend without telling them its vegan, they wouldn't even know the difference. I've eaten tons of donuts in my life but the donuts at Mighty-O's were hands down the BEST! They were soooo delicious - we sampled the lemon poppy seed and the grasshopper. My husband and I both agreed that the lemon poppy seed was to die for - it was just enough lemon flavor to be refreshing and not tart. The cake was moist and the frosting was the perfect amount! The iced coffee is good as well, I am an iced coffee lover at heart so when I can drink it without a lot of sweetener and soy then I know it's good. You set the bar sky-high my friend. This was my very first stop on my self-guided culinary tour through Seattle's vegan cornucopia (seriously, what took me so long? The Pacific Northwest rocks). The smell of fresh, hot donuts frying up to golden perfection permeated the the air around me as I approached (!!) the front door of an open and inviting donut shop that I immediately felt comfortable in. As I type this now, many miles away from the place that I will here on out compare every other donut to, I can still see and remember the taste of that first glazed Mighty-O donut. No dairy/eggs needed (and quite frankly, makes you wonder why bother ever?) and absolutely delicious--not oily, not overly sweet (think krispy kreme), not overly dense--just perfect. really. The donut holes are little reminders of the fantabulous donut you had earlier.....or the damn satchel you stuffed with mighty o's to take back home #dontjudgeme It's probably a good thing that you *aren't* around the corner from me because I would be in your store daily--and you are carried in the local Whole Foods/QFC's?? Got their raspberry, lemon poppy seed, peanut butter chocolate, and French toast? Or cinnamon flavor. The guy who was working was very helpful but these donuts are not really up my ally. Maybe cause the flavor was not as strong as it couldve be, or too heavy of the dough, these are my guess. Cause I love the Lemon Poppy Cake flavor. But the dough was very dense. The French toast flavor was nice so was the Raspberry but again the dough to me was these two was a bit more dense. I got these two cause the guy said these were the most popular at all locations. The peanut butter chocolate was the strongest flavor which was great and the dough was more moist compared to the rest. Soooo our visiting (vegan) supervisor drove all the way from Kent to Seattle on a Friday morning to get Mighty O and then bring it back to the office--I had two and a half donuts lol --that is unusual for me, I am more of a clean eating vegan but I decided to indulge because I have never had a decent vegan donut out of the three I have ever tried-- The Peanut Butter Chocolate donut is FANTASTIC as is the French Toast one--I did have one that was spice cakey with some sort of frosting and although I cannot place the flavor name it was also SPECTACULAR. Mighty Os is me and my boyfriends favorite doughnut shop in Seattle. They have so many delicious flavors, and don't leave you feeling heavy after eating. My favorite flavors are the raspberry riot and french toast, my boyfriend likes the chocolate raspberry and devils playground. The staff is nice and the treats are cheap.
