If you need an auto mechanic for any reason, an oil change, brakes or whatever I would not hesitate to go to mighty muffler on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont. They are the nicest and most honest mechanics I've ever met. I called the other day and asked if they would look at my rear brakes, which wete making a squeaking noise when I back up in the morning. They brought my car in and evaluated it and told me that I have plenty of brake pad left. They said I don't need new brakes yet.. and then they did not charge me anything for the evaluation. It's just nice to know that there are really truly honest people out there who care about your business. First, NO I'm not a paid actor... just an overly satisfied customer who knows no better way to say thank you but to highlight the kind of work and people that are at Mighty Muffler. This is my second review, yes I'm back again because they deserve it. I'm simply blown away every time I come here. They far exceed my expectations. I was here a while back for my Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. Nelson took care of it and delivered exactly the sound and performance I was looking for. This time around I brought in my Maserati that already had a cool sound to it from the factory. Nelson gave it a look and listened to it and in under a minute knew what I wanted and how "we" would achieve it. The entire staff gets it. They are all knowledgeable and go beyond the call of duty in terms of making you feel comfortable while you wait. I wasn't paying attention as my head was in my laptop and my car was completed they parked it out front and started to rev it up. I turned around like man who's car is that...? It sounds amazing! I look out the window only to see my car and Nelson with a few of his employees smiling because they knew they hit it out the park with this one. They take pride in their work (as they should) and if I didn't properly show my emotion it was because I was at such a loss for words.. I think Nelson put it best as he handed me the keys... this thing is "Bad Ass Bro" I trust my car with these guys and you should too, my hope is that anyone reading this can tell my experiences here have been unbelievable and I've been enough places to know when there's one that stands alone in terms of customer service, job function, price, knowledge, and family atmosphere. Very professional workers, very nice facility, nicest waiting room I've ever been in. However they are pretty expensive as far as exhaust shops go, you're better off going to Tiny shop to get work done. A simple exhaust job I had done cost twice the amount I was quoted at other shops. If you're getting custom exhaust modifications I feel like this would be a good spot to go though. read more

we have gone to Mighty Muffler for the past 10 years. I do not know what is going on or whats been going on. My husband took his truck for a regular oil change. the next day theres a hole in the panel and oil leak goin on. They said $900 to fix. Then my sister car was fine nothing wrong with it went in for a regular oil change next day their was an issue with steering and cant drive the car. They said it was going to be $1500!!! How do you go in for a regular oil change and come out and now theres issues with the car. Then I reccomended a friend and she took her car there and then the next day she had major issue with her car. Either the mechanic dont know what they doing or some shady shit goin on. Cant be a coincidence that 3 people brought their car in for a simpl oil change and then next day theres issuees. read more

2 stars for what appears to be decent work (i dont hear any rattling or anything but you cant see anything in this car since the converters are near the turbo). They like to play games however. I had a bad feeling about this place based on where the shop was located (claymonster, a place i havent visited by choice in over 8 years) but I took a buddys recommendation since they did great work on his RS7 and every other shop near me seemed to be booked out months. These guys are classic bait and switchers. You give details about the vehicle over the phone and request an estimate, and they give you one. Then you drop the car off super early on the day of the job and they call you 2 hours later saying oh, its too much work you will have to come pick it up and drop it back off again. Now I get it I have a specialty car (a V12 twin turbo mercedes) and I don't ever expect to cheap out on it. I have no issue paying good money for quality work but I will not overpay for services that are not rendered. The The kicker here is the guy at the front said "they work on these cars all the time" so I was confident they would give me an accurate quote and timeframe. So I come all the way back down 45 minutes drive, pick the car back up and take it home again and bring it back monday. Well guess what, they called me 12 hours later saying the car was all done (aka they finished it way quicker than expected) and still charged me the full ride. TLDR: Quoted me $1300 over the phone, ended up being over 2 grand at pickup..AND they got the job done even quicker than they would have the day that i dropped it off before! Oh..and to top it off, twice I requested they put the old cats back in the trunk and they didn't do it. I almost drove away without the parts luckily I looked. I'm sure they do this ALL the time. I dropped of a 2021 Supra for a custom fabbed exhaust and hks lowering kit and they knocked it out of the park . Customer service - awesome , fair pricing- awesome, facility-awesome, craftsmanship- awesome . If you are looking for anything exhaust or automotive related definitely hit them up they will not disappoint. From the time I called to inquire about the jobs to when I picked the car up they were nothing but helpful and courteous. If you need any work done on your vehicle, I HIGHLY recommend this location. Not only is everyone really friendly and helpful, but they are absolutely trustworthy!! A Toyota dealership told me I really needed my brake fluid and coolant flushed and replaced, that the fluid was dark and thick. I took it here and asked them to do the flushes, they took a look, called me and said the fluids were fine and didn't need to be changed. Another perfect job done by Nelson and staff today. I first went to MM two years ago for custom exhaust and headers for my Charger Scat Pack, and have been a repeat customer since. Unlike many auto shops, MM does not sell you services you do not need or skimp on their materials. I know how to turn my car on, and then off. How the parts work in between is a mystery. But I feel confident every time I take one of our cars to MM for service that service will be 100% done properly and affordably and I will not have to worry about how things work. Stopped in today to have the crack on my rims repaired and they just charged the max without even looking at the crack. Then, when it was completed it looked rushed and unfinished. This was my first service i got done to my Ralliart and i had an awesome experience. I came about an hour early and Nelson said "its no problem we'll take care of it". I was expecting to wait a couple hours since i came early so i went to the diner next door but by the time we finish eating in about 30-40 mins i came back and they told me it was done. Today I had a great experience at a wonderful privately owned custom exhaust shop. Nelson and his crew are by far the best in the business. I took my 2013 Silverado in to have a Stainless Gibson cat back exhaust installed and welded on. I have been working on cars and trucks for as long as I can remember so IM very hesitant about anyone touching my cars. After long and careful consideration and research I decided that laying on my back in the driveway to install it myself was just not an option and besides I wanted it welded on not bolted on. Nelson you are the Effen MAN!! The tips are perfect and look so good and let me tell you these are the best welds I have ever seen. Sure just about any auto shop or backyard mechanic can install an exhaust system. But what they cant even come close to do is the perfection you get at Mighty Muffler from Nelson and his crew. The location of the dual exhaust tips is the most important part from an aesthetic stand point. If there not matched or are not at just the right location they look awful. Nelson has an eye for it. He is more then a mechanic he's an artist and has a customer for life. I'm telling everyone the service he provides is the very best. I was on the I-95 N when a light came on on my dashboard indicating low tire pressure. I had no idea where I was but I my next exit was Marsh Rd so I pulled off in hopes of finding a gas station where I could investigate what had happened. I drove for about 5 minutes and came across Mighty Muffler; I pulled in and asked the gentleman working in the shop if I could use an airpump to fill my tire; it was visibly lower in air so we could immediately tell which one was deflating. He stopped what he was doing to help me, checked the tire pressure with a gauge, then saw a nail stuck in the tire and notified the owner, whose name is Nelson. He was SO FRIENDLY and he greeted me with a smile and ensured me they would take care of it quickly, and that it wouldn't cost much and he invited me to bring my children into the waiting room where they had a comfortable seating area. My son was sleeping but they had a couch and chairs where I could sit and hold him and my daughter and I parked ourselves in front of the TV and Nelson engaged with my five-year-old daughter inquiring what channel she'd like to watch; he flipped through until he found some cartoons for her. They took care of my tire within 30 minutes but as we waited I watched happy customers come in and out of the shop with smiles, so happy with their service, addressing the owner by name and chatting. I really never write reviews because I honestly rarely receive such excellence service and sincere kindness; as I drove away I thought about how grateful I was to find this auto shop.
