Decadent cookies, flaky croissants, which is seemingly their specialty with cruffins (muffins made with croissant dough and filled with magic) traditional croissants, and cinnamon sugar morning buns, which are all on the menu daily. The cruffins are perfection. My personal favourite is the lemon blueberry, the perfect balance of buttery, tart and sweet. The morning buns are delightful sugary goodness, brownies are rich and luscious, and they have the best ginger molasses cookies around.. There's honestly options for everyone, simple but delicious for the kids, traditional picks to please anyone and elevated unique fare for the adults - including craft beer to top off a fantastic meal. One of my colleagues is from Perth and when I told her my husband and I were doing a day trip to Perth as part of our staycation, she recommended we have lunch at Fieldhouse. I love bakeries, so we followed her recommendation. The place is a lot smaller than I expected. It only has seating for 8 inside (4 tables of 2) and 4 picnic tables outside (so seating for about 16 outside). I got the Chicken and Brie sandwich ($14.75) and added a side salad for my husband and I to share ($5). My husband got the Ham and Swiss sandwich ($14.25) and we also got a cruffin ($5.25) for dessert, but ended up taking it home. Before we left my husband got an Americano to go ($3). I enjoyed my sandwich. The bread was crusty and held the ingredients of the sandwich well. The peppery arugula in the sandwich went well with the chicken and Brie. I was thrilled that the chicken was real roasted chicken breast meat (and not deli meat, lol). The aioli was flavourful but a bit excessive in quantity for my tastes. It dripped onto the plate with every bite, lol. The salad was leaf lettuce, shredded cabbage and carrots. Vegetables were fresh. I asked for the dressing on the side and it came as requested. The dressing was a creamy dressing and on the runny side. I'm glad I asked for it on the side, as I used only about a third of it. I had a bite of my husband's sandwich and it was ok, but I much preferred mine. He liked his better, so it all worked out. His was on a fluffier and softer bread. The ham was deli ham, but it tasted ok. The Swiss cheese was nippy. Service was pleasant. My husband enjoyed his Americano. We had the Brownie Cruffin at home. The pastry was flakey and delicious. The chocolate filling was like a rich chocolate pudding. It was very decadent. The setting is a bit like a subway sandwich bar, where you order at the counter and wait for your order. This gives it a fast food chain feeling. It had some low chairs at tables, and some high cafe chairs against the counter along the wall and windows. We were alone when we started, but it got quite busy!! I wish some soups had been on display (although I was happy with what I got), and that the seating had been a tad more comfortable.
