Climate Masters have been servicing our boiler for the better part of thirty years. They knew what they were doing and were EXTREMELY informative. They showed me how our system worked, they took the time to explain everything from lighting the pilot light to bleeding the radiators. The tech even gave me a key to bleed the air from the radiators. They state they specialize in older homes and they did right by our 96 year old system! Highly highly highly recommended.

After Climate Masters finished the job, I was surprised to realize ... wow, even mechanical systems…read morecould be visually attractive. This was because the installers, Scott and Ethan, did an absolutely meticulous and exacting job. Our house is a 6400 sqft three story built in 1906. During the winter, the hvac system we had in place was never able to properly heat up the home. While driving one day, I spotted one of the Climate Masters' trucks with the motto, "we specialize in older homes" and wondered if they could fix our hvac setup. Tom came to assess and bid the job, and I must give thanks to how patient he was during the process. I took an excessive amount of time to decide, and yet Tom followed up throughout this period. Climate Masters ended up installing a large 140K BTU gas furnace, ran new black iron gas piping, and redid sections of our duct work. Part of the work involved cutting through a kitchen floor with brick veneer. Scott was able to shape the vent opening beautifully. The result was that for the first time ever, the house felt ... toasty during cold weather. When Spire came to activate the gas, servicemen on two separate occasions saw the installation and, without prompting, asked me which company did the job. When I asked why, they both said, "oh, it's because they did a great job!" Everyone I interacted with throughout the process has been wonderful: Scott and Ethan came promptly at 8 am each day and finished a huge job in 1.5 weeks; Doug was great with follow up logistics, and Jennifer always friendly and helpful with office paperwork.

I needed an extra outlet - so I could plug in a central vacuum power head - and it wasn't in the…read moreright spot. So I call "another" company that had good Yelp ratings and explain the job. Simple enough - cut a hole in the drywall next to the stud, hang a single gang box, connect the power wires that are already in the wall one foot away, splice and cap, push it back in and done. Hour job, max. Ground floor, tile floor, easy peasy. Price? Well, that will be a "minimum charge" of $225. What? Really? Go back to Yelp and Next Door. Read all the reviews - hmm, Dwell Electric. Oh wait, I know Jason B, and it's his dad, and they are good people. Check that box. So I call and get Paul on the line. He's in the middle of a job, so he asks to call me back. He does. He can be over not tomorrow, but Wednesday. Does that work? Of course it does. 1pm? Perfect. Paul shows up 15 minutes early. Gets greeted by two large German Shepherds, whom he loves and pets and who follow him like trained assistants. Takes a look, says yes, easy job to do. Price? $125 - perfect. Let's go. Opens the wall - wait, their are wires but they aren't hot. What? Checks all the breakers and panels. Hmmm. Apparently when the house was built no one bothered to connect the power for all the 'direct connect central vacuum lines". Darn. That explains why the direct connect wouldn't work and why I'm having an extra outlet installed....Oh well - Paul's like, let's just connect power from over "here" (light switches) in the wall and do some extra work and wiring and maneuvering - ok, no problem, let me know if the cost goes up...Nope. No worries. Job completed in 30 minutes tops. Looks great. Still $125. Paul is an honest business person who charges a fair price and can handle anything from outlets to can lighting installation to complete home projects. He works almost exclusively in the Encinitas - Carlsbad area, so he's local and available and has two other guys just like him at Dwell. Give them a call and you'll be glad you did. I guarantee it, and so do my dogs.

Being "seen and heard" is important to customers and CMC's staff were amazing at every step of the process. The office staff, consultant, and installer were so far above our expectations and so much more responsive than other companies we were getting estimates from for our project. We will be calling CMC for all of our future electrical needs. Thanks especially to Mike Cullivan, our installer. He was professional and answered all of our questions clearly and patiently.

I cannot recommend Omar and A1 HVAC enough. my house is 100 years old and the HVAC system that was…read moreretrofitted to it when it was renovated 3 years ago was not cutting it. Our second floor (a converted attic) just was not getting airflow and our house was so uncomfortable in the summer. Omar came out and recommended a few different options. We chose to upgrade the size of our compressor. Omar and his team came out and in the same day, we had a new system that was cooling our house faster and shutting off sooner, saving us money on our electric bill AND making our house comfortable. Our upstairs, which used to get up to 85 degrees on a super hot day, is now a cool 72! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Overall, we are satisfied with our master bath remodel done by KML Remodeling, but it took twice as…read morelong as it should have because of incorrect materials delivered and inadequate project management. We had to make concessions on things that were wrongly ordered and there were a few plumbing mistakes which required rework, causing the project to take twice as long as it should have. The carpentry work was exceptional, though, with attention to detail and solid workmanship, resulting in an overall successful project. But, the general supervision and communication from the project manager were dreadful and caused a very stressful experience. As other reviewers have said, messages were rarely responded to and it required me to frequently follow up just to know what was going on with the project, and who and when someone was coming. When the project manager did show up on site, which was rare, he just walked in and went straight to the subcontractor, without barely a hello to us. It's really a shame because a well done job should not be so exhausting and frustrating for the customer. As long as they use the same carpenter, I would recommend them, but I suggest making it very clear at contract signing what you expect and lay out clear rules of engagement and communication expectations. I'm updating my review rating from a 3 to a 4 because the owner, Karen, sincerely listened to our concerns and we feel that she will make the necessary adjustments so that future customers have a more pleasant experience. As previously noted, the workmanship of the main construction components are top notch and had the project manager not made the job so painful, we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Their lack of communications is unbelievable! Messages are NEVER returned in a timely manner, sometimes never returned! They messed up my walls, which thankfully I had more product so I could fix them. They broke the trim on my door and pushed it together and left it like that, so the wood is cracked! Who does that and just leaves it? The first time they installed the doors, they put them into the door jamb, so you could not open the doors all of the way! It took four days to install a vanity, a vanity top and change two cabinet doors. I have a six car driveway, they parked on the edge of driveway and put ruts in my yard! Save yourself some heartache and frustration and stay away from this company.
