Unexpected visit, and I'm so glad that I discovered this terrific place for unique Chicago and neighborhood-themed artwork and gifts. Located just a short walk south of Lincoln Square's main district, Sacred Art was such a good vibe. They play great music, have independent artists' work all over the shop, and it's a fun visit. Originally in Roscoe Village, they moved to their current location a decade ago. Such a unique selection, paintings, ceramics, photos, homemade jewelry, posters with a Chicago theme. Whether you are buying for your Chicago-area home, latching on to a memory, or looking for an item to retain your fond thoughts of your Chicago visit, this is a really good stop. Loved their "L" line station ID's, such a part of everyday public transit in this great city. So many interesting items, spent a half-hour here, and I'm looking forward to my next visit here because it's a special shop.

A creative, friendly and inviting space offering jewelry, candles, prints, art, cards for every occasion. Most of the shop is Chicago themed, the other half equally as unique. There were particular prints resembling history of chicago house architecture that caught my eye I'll be back in the near future to purchase. I bought a pair of earrings and a card. Always down to support small businesses. Next time you need a small gift, art for your wall, a small low maintenance hanging plant or custom crafted jewelry you should stop in. Instead of running to your local Walgreens or jewel for a "just okay- gets the job done" card, check out this place first.

Long story short: I highly recommend Stanley Brown for…read morerepairs. Their store is charming with nifty antiques, the staff is friendly, and they made a simple repair *free*, even though I bought my ring elsewhere. Plus, their own jewelry is beautiful and quite a few pieces are under $200. Long story long: My husband gave me a ring and necklace set from a major mall chain. We sprang for the warranty in case of repair, resizing, etc. Twelve years later, somehow, I bent the ring out of shape. The only locations for this jeweler now are 45+ minutes away, but I brought it in. They couldn't find my name in the system, so I needed to come back with the warranty paperwork. Brought it back a second time, and they said they would either have to add gold to it for $300, or, because the set has been discontinued, I could buy an updated/extended warranty. However, they couldn't tell me how much that would cost, and either way, I'd have to bring in the necklace too. WTF bullshit is this? That would make 4 trips in total. So I tried Stanley Brown, 15 minutes away. Super nice staffer there said she'd round the ring out for me, free of charge. She was done in five minutes and it fits perfectly. I plan on bringing everything here if it needs repairs, and will stop here first for fancy jewelry.
