Such a cute store with all the cards and trinkets you could want. - Four illustrated postcards are arranged on a brown envelope from Steel Petal Press, located at 2321 North Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. The postcards depict Chicago landmarks, a hot dog, and city scenes, with colorful, stylized artwork. The envelope has the business address printed on it, and the postcards include images of the Chicago skyline, a hot dog with toppings, and a vintage-style cityscape. The items are laid out on a light-colored surface, showcasing the stationery and artwork from the Chicago-based letterpress shop.

Such a cute store in Logan Square. The staff was welcoming and did not hover or try to pressure patrons into purchases. There was a great selection of cards and other fun items such as puzzles and trinkets. The store even offers a small kids section and an discounted selection misprints of handmade cards.

Shop local, yo. SPP creates and produces its own greeting cards, proudly made by its own in-shop press. They also carry other brands made by local Chicago artists and other independent designers across the country. The selection is quite impressive, plenty of unique cards for any and all occasions, and they definitely skew towards the quirky. Beyond cards, there's tons of other great gift items, like socks, books, desk plates, adult coloring books, home goods, journals, stationery, and lots of Chicago-centric items. You can find a cool gift for pretty much anyone, especially if they have a good sense of humor. And of course they do custom wedding invitations! I love this store! Such a cute and fun place to shop for cards, and all kinds of other stuff that no one needs, but you can't help but buy anyway. It's in my neighborhood, and is the first place I go for a hostess gift, birthday gift, or a "just-because" gift. Another reason I will patronize this store: it believes in giving back. A portion of their monthly proceeds is donated to worthy causes like the ACLU and the National Resources Defense Fund.

If you wanna look like you've been to China with a bunch of Chinese stuff made in China, this is the place. They do have things relating to Chicago, but a lot of the stuff is just Chinese stuff that'll sit around your house gathering dust. Think lots of little statues, vases, cups, bowls. I feel like a bull in a China shop in here- all the aisles and merchandise is so jammed close together, that every time I turn around, I feel like I'm going to break some fragile jade egg or some bamboo vase. They also sell Chinese clothing, which all seemed a bit small for my tastes. But it's pretty. It's a shop in a nice location- it's sort of in the souvenir district of Chinatown- there's a few cool other similar shops on the same street, right in front of the Chinese archway that leads you into Chinatown.

Fun little souvenir shop with a wide range of 装饰品诀窍…read more(Zhuāngshì pn) which I think means knick knacks or decorations. They sell calligraphy pens but I wasn't able to write this, though I tried for a full 5 minutes. The staff is helpful, and patient. There's quite a bit of stuff crammed into a small space, and it ranges from the very cheap (and looks very cheap) the to the inexpensive (and doesn't look cheap) souvenirs to nice decorations. It's too tight with too many fragile items to bring in younger children (unless they are very well behaved) but there are lots of toys to give to children as gifts. Not surprisingly it's all made in China, including the Japanese sake serving sets which are quite a bit cheaper than you would find elsewhere. It's really fun to shop here, and you can't leave Chinatown with out some sort of souvenir, right?
