Everyone has "their guy," but I had just moved back from california and I didn't. So I called a few more "auto experts." Firestone, merlin, those guys. They all quoted me outrageous prices and told me, "oh I bet it's much more than you are thinking from what you're telling me." OR something like that. So I ended up bringing it to Justin at JDM Motorsports and he took one look and test drive and knew exactly what it was. He fixed it FOR WAAAAAY LESS THAN EVERYONE ELSE QUOTED ME. He also said that he didn't have to do the fix I asked him to, which would've been triple the price. The car needed a super quick and cheap fix. He did it in no time at all. I mean I hung out and chatted for a few minutes and it was done. PAINLESS! Then he said you will need x, y, and z done. X will cost $xx and need to be done by ______. Y will need to be done by ________ and cost $yy, and Z could be replaced but it's fine for now. Let it go til ______happens. He could've been pushy and adamant that it is done NOW OR ELSE. Especially since he knew that I was clueless about cars. But he was honest and forward and a trustworthy guy. I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT TO JDM! Best mechanic ever! I called and Todd actually answered ... family owned small business ya know. After explaining my situation, they worked with me to get my daughters car in, inspect it, called me to tell me exactly what was wrong, and even took my payment over the phone! When we were discussing what was wrong, I inquired about some other items and to whether or not I should have them replaced as well. They could've taken me for a complete ride ... but I was told (by the owner himself) that they inspected the other parts I had mentioned, and there was no need at this time to have them replaced as they were still in good condition with minimal signs of wear. Anthony did everything from calling other mechanics (including the one who had last serviced my vehicle) to help diagnose, to arranging the tow truck, to coordinating with a buyer when I ultimately decided to sell my vehicle. His associate John was also incredibly communicative and prompt, and even offered to run to a convenience store for me if I needed anything. Both of them were also meticulous about proper Covid safety protocols. The mechanic came promptly at the discussed time, and after speaking with me,immediately started working on my vehicle. I was able to get all my work down while the mechanic replaced my brake pads and conducted an oil change. Once the mechanic was finished, he discussed all the services he did on my car.
