I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes, which for immediate/urgent care is unsurpassed. I have never, ever, had to make an appointment and even came in once at a time when the doctor wasn't seeing patients but too the time to see me! I have always been treated well and honestly can't say a bad thing. I had to pay $175 to be seen for two minutes and walk away with no remedy. Fast forward two months and my card was charged another $75 without my consent or any kind of notice. I called and complained for them to say it's policy and what I signed for when being seen. BEWARE! In the end I had to go to a different doctor and it turned out I DID need meds, I will be contesting the charges with my bank for fraudulent since there was barely any services rendered and the services received were less than adequate. I had a great experience with Irene Torres. I got bit by a dog just above my lip. I had to get 7…read morestitches. I was very worried about getting them taken out because I know it can be very painful because I knew how tight the stitches were and how sensitive the area was. I went in to get them removed, and she told me originally to wait another day or two, but when I told her how concerned I was about who did it, she called me back to tell me that she had contacted the other NP that would be there that day to ask her how she felt about removing the stitches, and she didn't feel comfortable doing it. Irene researched the amount of time needed to leave the stitches in to make sure it would be ok to remove them that day, and said that I would be fine to come back that day while she was there. It showed how much she truly cares about her patients. She did an excellent job with the removal, and I had very little pain. I was so relieved to have them out, and it's still healing up nicely. Irene has years of experience, is very kind and does a great job. CVS is lucky to have her! Thanks again!

Can someone explain to me what a hospital is supposed to provide for patient care. My brother was…read morebrought in by ambulance for a potential stoke. A CT scan did show a stroke had occurred and that a large mass was seen on one lung with multiple clots. They needed to perform a MRI to see in more detail but unfortunately the machine was broken, and he had to wait three days to get the scan and results. They then suspected cancer of the lungs and needed a PET scan for confirmation, but the PET scan is not in the hospital and he has to be discharged to have one at their facility in Bourbonnais. They send him home on blood thinners so that he can have the scan. He then has another stroke and back to the hospital. They decide he needs a Biopsy of lung to determine the type of cancer in the lung and course of treatment. Sent home to have biopsy scheduled as outpatient surgery that is done two days later. The diagnose comes back stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. Appointment set for week away to see cancer doctor at Bourbonnais facility to discuss treatment options. He is sent home to await appointment. Two days before appointment he has episode of cant breath and turning grey, back to hospital test run show fluid around the heart and emergency surgury to put in drain tube performed. He is now being sent home to await still for the appointment to see cancer doctor to set plan for cancer treatment. My question is why does it take 3weeks to even begin talking about treatment for a serious cancer that is causing all the issues and why is the treatment not even started in the hospital? If this the way they treat people here you may want to consider another option .

Riverside would rather call patients obese and tell them to loose weight instead of choosing to help them with the medical emergency they were experiencing at the time. Health care is not how I would describe the services offered at this hospital, unless you are a straight wealthy and healthy white man. One star is the least amount of stars I could give and I wish I didn't have to give you that many. The healthcare available in this county is truly abominable and the fact that you are on the top of the list out of the shit heap there is available, worries me and discourages me from seeking any medical care from anyone within a 20 mile radius of me. The drive up to Chicago is definitely worth it if you can do it. The healthcare workers closer to the city actually seem to give a shit that the people they are treating are also human people like themselves, and not just sacks of flesh and possible money Riverside sees.

I thought it was turning into an ear infection or sinus infection so I had to find an urgent care ASAP since it happened to be January 2nd and everything was closed in observance of New Year's Day. I called to confirm this place was an urgent care and that they were open. The woman was polite on the phone and told me they were open and they weren't busy at all at the moment. So I zipped over and she was right, no one was in the waiting room. Just me myself and I. They work on a walk-in basis FYI. I was seen within 2-3 minutes of checking in. The doctor came to my exam room within a couple minutes of my vitals and info being taken. Dr. Hornung was who saw me and he was professional and nice. I was in and out of here in 20 minutes but they didn't rush me at all. It was spectacular service for someone who had no energy from being sick. This place is located at the corner of Eola/New York St. They are right next to Paulie's Bar & Grill and there is a subway right there too. The whole office and waiting area was super clean and tidy. If I need an urgent care again this will be the first place I think of. Definitely recommend. If you're reading this, I hope you feel better soon!
