My regular OBGYN left this summer and I have now seen Dr. Patel twice and she is so kind and understanding and really honestly listens to me. I ask questions and I have never felt rushed or uncomfortable. She also really takes the time to explain things and also save me money by sending me to a different pharmacy than I was using. I have always been lucky to have very kind and sweet nurses as well. Everyone is so caring and sincere. I do like the quick and ease of the North Aurora location, not just since I live close to it but it never seems crowed or busy like the St Charles location and for some reason I think it is cleaner also. It is a no frills office with a waiting room on the plain side. I have never had any problems making a appointment and with my annual visit I was early and so was the doctor! I do have to say I only have been familiar with the OBGYN side, and I have no knowledge of the child care side of the practice.

I am utterly disgusted. After being a patient for over 30 years this immediate cares patient care…read moreor lack thereof was totally unacceptable. Upon bringing in a patient in after calling and verifying walk ins welcomed, we were turned away! Please keep in mind we arrived 16 minutes agter the call. The receptionist that I spoke with rolled her eyes when we were told by the younger receptionist we would bot be seen, that is ridiculous. The patient that was brought in was an asthmatic. We informed them of the reason for the visit. The younger receptionist went to get a nurse that confirmed shortness of breath and chest tightness from triage. The nurse advised us that they were going to speak with the provider. 15 minutes later the younger receptionist came back again and told us we could not be seen! This was a total waste of time! From the most recent reviews it appears that this is becoming the norm and it is absolutely unacceptable! It appears that the staff was more concerned about getting home on time than patients. Being that Northwestern Medicine is a well respected establishment, something needs to change locally sooner than later. I remember the days when this immediate care rated 5 stars. It is my hope that you all get this turned around.

I most likely won't be coming here ever again! I am so defeated by my last experience. I came in…read morebecause I was having flu like symptoms and thought I'd go in for some quick antibiotics or something. When I got there the staff was nice but she did tell me it will be a long wait, and she kept pushing for the tele-health option. This is where the doctor calls you via phone and you describe your symptoms to them and they diagnose you from there. They don't see you at all. I opted to do this option because it wasn't anything too too serious, just flu like symptoms so why not? It took about 1 hour to receive a call from the Doctor. She was friendly, asked me all the basic questions my symptoms, do I have any allergies, taking any medication, etc. she set up for me to get tested for Covid-19, Flu, and Strep Throat. I still never laid eyes on my Doctor, after you're done talking to to them on the phone you wait in the lobby to do any testing you may need. Waiting to get tested didn't take long at all. Got tested and I was free to go and they call you with the results. So, I got my call and to my surprised I tested negative for all 3 test. So, the same Doctor called me back with my results and told me she will be prescribing me with 2 medications and a nasal spray. One of the medications was for pain (I'm assuming for my sore throat), the other medication was a cough suppressant which the pharmacist told me was very, very strong. I ended up not taking the cough suppressant because that doesn't even sound healthy. I wanted to encourage my body to cough up any phlegm because that's how it naturally gets rid of the bacteria that's making me sick. So I did take the pain pill and I did the nasal spray. I thought all was well and I went to sleep for the night. I woke up in a huge pool of blood (like a really really big puddle, which I won't show because it's very graphic). And that was coming from my nose. Throughout the day my nose bled 3 more times and it was a lot of blood. I did not take anymore of the nasal spray or any medicine she prescribed for that matter. I ended up calling this facility and telling them what happened. I did not talk to the same Doctor but instead I was speaking to a nurse. She told me to stop taking the nasal spray (duh). So then that night I went to a different clinic and their Doctor told me that the spray that was prescribed is extremely strong and really dried out my sinuses. He told me to go buy some over the counter saline spray to put moisture back into my nasal passage. So I've been doing that and the nosebleeds have stopped, but my eyes are bloodshot red, like extremely red. I thought I popped a blood vessel in there or something, and they have been bloodshot red for going on 3 days. They're not irritated, or itchy, or discharging pus or anything crazy like that. I just think the nasal spray dried my eyes out too. I've tried eye drops but nothing is working. So I will be taking a trip back to the Doctor tomorrow to try to figure out what this nasal spray did to me. I've been running around looking like a deranged vampire, with these bloodshot eyes. I can't even go to work with my eyes in this condition, and I would really like to get back to work. I really wish I never used those prescriptions. If there's one thing I don't mess with it's my face. Hopefully I can get my beautiful eyeballs back. I'm so disheartened. I'm only giving 2 stars because the staff was friendly. However, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

This Hospital is an example of a failure and a breakdown of leadership. There are so many incompetent people that work here that the few bright talented ones get drownded out by the terrible attitudes lack of knowledge and professionalism given by the nurses and the nurse practitioners and some of the texts that work there each time I have been to this hospital I have had hours and hours in the waiting room sometimes up to four hours in the waiting room I've set back waiting to get care for hours the nurses are so incredibly lazy here they do not want to do their job they are combative they will argue and they will kick you out before they will help you this is the truth to hear there are more paid armed security guards there than there are doctors why do they have more security guards than they have doctors if this is a hospital and they are there to help people they have security guards there because their care is so terrible that people get upset and they end up getting thrown out into the parking lot here at this hospital so don't send anybody here unless you want your loved one to die because that's what will happen people will die here at this hospital I'm sure the death rates here are higher than any other Hospital in the area this hospital is terrible this is the worst Hospital worse than any Hospital in Chicago in anywhere I've ever been this is D worst hospital and my life I have ever been to do not come to this hospital it is truly a hell hole

An immediate family member in her early 30s had a prolonged and serious digestive illness last…read moremonth that eventually required a colonoscopy to determine if she has IBS / IBD or other digestive issues / diseases like Crohn's, celiac disease, gluten allergies. To get into see a GI doctor, it took TWO weeks (and that was because another patient happened to cancel), meanwhile she is having major digestive issues and cannot go to work or even leave the house. This is the "great" American healthcare system as portrayed by Advocate Dreyer. Eventually, she was able to get in at Copley and seen by the GI doctor who was thorough in taking notes on symptoms, decided to test for several things, (prescribed medicine that doesn't seem to help much, however), and scheduled the colonoscopy for the end of the week at Sequoia. (That was fairly prompt scheduling, I admit, but truly, the ONLY efficient thing to happen in two months.) Yet, as of today, she is almost TWO WEEKS waiting for the results of the colonoscopy, when she told her she'd have the results within five days of that procedure. She is feeling somewhat better, yet still combating GI problems in her daily routine, losing weigh, not able to fully return to work, even while following a strict BRAT diet. The office reply has been "we are waiting for the results; the biopsies were sent way for testing." She continues to call and/or MyChart every day and has yet to hear directly from the doctor or a department nurse. No accountability from the GI office. This non-communicative and sluggish pace is unacceptable, and can be an earth-shattering domino effect for someone who has to work to pay the bills (doesn't have much savings or a partner to rely on financially) and needs to work to keep insurance, yet is struggling to keep their body functioning in daily life. Advocate Dreyer, like many corporate machines, seems to be ingrained in the problematic and unethical "for profit" way to treat. The lack of accountability for post-visit communication and/or ability to get an appointment to see a specialist is HORRIBLE. Patients have to be their own "advocates" in this monetizing, overworked, substandard system. There are many hard working, smart nurses, doctors, and staff members at Dreyer, I am sure, but a for-profit system really only works for those at the very top, not the actual patient who desperately needs to be seen and treated, and not for the overworked nurses, doctors, employees.
